Grew up listening to OpIvy and Rancid... love them both. Had it not been for these (and other) bands in my early-teen years... not gonna lie, I don't think I would have survived as I did. So THANK YOU for the Music and for giving me the will to live strong!
I think OP IVY was meant to be short lived like Minor Threat and the Sex Pistols. Those bands are forever revered for their small output. They left the people wanting more. I only wish I could have seen them live 🍻
Tim always was vague as shit about what happened, but OPIVY deserved to just be it's own thing. Lars Fredrickson was a hired gun, playing all the guitar parts so Tim could sing lead and do his spinning around thing. Jesse added a hiphop element while Lars brought the Oi! sound, now saying Skinhead Rob Aston was a Jesse replacement is more of an accurate representation in Transplants, but Rancid is Tim and Lars all day.
With all the respect in the world, it’s kinda easy for a guy that comes from a family with money(Jesse) to say nah to bigger things when the other guys in the band really wanted to go for it. Much respect to him but selfish in my opinion
@@lautaromartinez10postaofic34 and now we have Rancid, in my opinion, a better band. I do like Jesses work in Common Rider, but theres a difference in the drive behind the work.
