Just for perspective, a traveling "high tech hippie" theater group I was part of called the "Tranquility Circus", built inflatable "tents" that were used for each performance. These were mare of polyethylene sheeting, generally either 4 mil or 6 mill thickness. The largest one we made was 305 feet in diameter and 180 feet high. We built it for a week of performances at Western Washibgton State University in Bellingham Washington in IIRC 1971. At one point, we had over 5,000 people inside, and it was neither crowded nor excessively noisy even with a rock band playing. The spherical acoustics made for clean sound with few ir no echoes. If you stood near the side and spoke normally, the sound carried around the wall, and a person 100 feet away could hear you perfectly.
I knew from the start that the Pantheon was going to be #1, and rightfully so. I was pretty sure that Brunelleschi's dome in Florence would make it too. I was kind of surprised that the Superdome in New Orleans wasn't on the list, but AT&T in the next city over from me did.
I've seen the Haga Sophia, the Florence Cathedral(been up to the top of the dome), saw the Panteon (been inside it when it was raining, and St. Peters.
Very interesting video. The Hagia Sophia dome is not a perfect hemisphere; it has a slightly elliptical shape which is unique. The first dome was designed by the Greek geometers Isidore of Miletus and Anthemius of Tralles and it symbolically represents the realm of heaven and its glory. Hagia Sophia is a masterpiece of Byzantine architecture with a unique design, putting a dome on a square base, thus combining the secular power of a dome and the spirituality of Christianity with a basilica form. There are forty arched windows encircling the base of the dome which during daylight obscure the supports and give the impression that the canopy floats on air. 12:00 Treasury of Atreus is on the Peloponnese and not on any Peloponnesian islands (not sure what that is).
@@Dheast Do you not also think that woman that let their hair grow out like Rapunzel's are the most attractive one's of all? There's something special about having that much hair to brush and play with, know that it will be that way for a long time to come. It's far more attractive than short hair in the long run.
Yeah I think you guys made a little oopsie. Neither Omaha or Henry Doorly Zoo have anything to do with Oklahoma.. They are about 2 states north of us in Nebraska.
Some very beautiful places. All interesting. 😊😊

Thank you so much! It’s been my life goal to find the “15 LARGEST DOMES in the World” Again man thank you! 😊

No mention of the Skydome which was the first and largest retractable domed stadium.

Georgia Dome
It's NORTHERN Michigan University, not North.

The Sphere
How in the blue hell did the Super Dome in New Orleans non make the list???
The world's biggest dome is The Sphere in Las Vegas, the second biggest is Globen (The Globe) in Stockholm. This list is pathetic!
Saying The Peoples Salvation Cathedral is "gaudy" is acually much kinder than my thoughts on its overall appearance 💩🙊👎
