Lotus level with Ferrari up until 79. They really were a great team.
XD
The best.
Berlinetta goes vroom haha
Ya
Forza ferrari, Forza Italia
Sad to see Williams in its current situation.
14 wins in 22 years more or less
Yeah ... I just started watching F1, and watching this i was like "what ? Williams it`s one of the teams with mosts Gps?"
They are no longer Williams, they just got bought by muricans
@@dts8084 Same :(
or Ferrari
When Red Bull climbs up to the top 5 with just Vettel’s wins, you know he was a force to be reckon with during his prime.
It's sad to see him possibly retiring
Maybe Max Verstappen can do the same with Red Bull soon.. what do you think?
What about Hamilton after Mercedes leaving McLaren?
@@RacingStatistics he's also going bad. Charles Leclerc and Lando Norris won't give space
Thus far in the Wierd covid season Ferrari has gotten sooooo unlucky. Writing this Saturday night righ before the third race so maybe they will have a nice race
100th victory:
Ferrari: Alain Prost
McLaren: Ayrton Senna
Williams: Jacques Villeneuve
Mercedes: Lewis Hamilton
Ferrari - at the 1990 British Grand Prix, McLaren - at the 1993 Brazilian Grand Prix, Williams - at the 1997 British Grand Prix, Mercedes - at the 2019 Mexican Grand Prix.
And a bonus - Ferrari won their 200th Grand Prix at the 2007 Chinese Grand Prix.
@@alexander_strachan and the 200th victory was achieved by Kimi Räikkönen
Mercedes: Lewis Hamilton actualidade e Tyrrell, it has nothing to do with the mercedes of the past
Hotel: Trivago
@@erickafega If you're counting the modern Mercedes team as a continuity of Tyrell, they would also get the wins of that team (33), plus those of BAR (er... 0), Honda 2006-8 (1), and Brawn (8).
Given that the original Mercedes only won 9 races, that would give them an additional 33 wins, and put them comfortably ahead of Williams.
See also, Renault, who pass themselves-when-they-were-Benetton, by including the previous, unrelated Renault team's wins.
Brawn GP was just one victory short of making the list in just the one season they competed. I just love how Brawn GP is such an oddity. I remember the first race of the season the team had almost no sponsors. After they won the race every company wanted their name on their car.
Don't be romantic. "Every company"? Brawn GP had several sponsors but few had contract for all season like Henri Floyd (for clothes) and many sponsored only for one or two races. The team had to hunt sponsors and it was big news if Brawn GP would gone last until the end because of lack of money. The world was in recession. Richard Branson's Virgin almost stopped the sponsor because of the high cost. And no one trully believe in that car, except for Ross Brawn, his team, his pilots and F1 fans. This kind of trouble only praises the team's effort.
No, "every company" did not want to be on that car
@DaBabySmokesWeedAndJimmySavilleSmokesBudWithMyNan they had a severe lack of sponsors and money
Every company of Brasil, because Barrichello's last years in F1
It must have been dope to be an F1 fan in the 70's. Being able to watch a race and knowing that there are multiple teams that could win seems like such a luxury.
Mercedes 2013 : 10 victories
Mercedes 2019 : 102 victories
Mercedes 2020 : 115 victories
@Reginald Joseph Awesome! That absolutely didn't sound like a Bot Account! I surely have to try it myself now since you sound so sincere!

11:06 now I see that Senna's last victory was the one that made Mclaren pass Ferrari, becoming the team with the most victories. He and McLaren really matched
Yes, I also found that interesting. Never realized how close McLaren, Williams and Ferrari were in terms of race wins in the 90s. (I knew they had nearly the same amount of world champions at that point but I thought Ferrari had had a couple of more wins than the others continuously)
Mercedes in 2014: "Allow us to introduce ourselves"
Otherwise they would withdraw from the Circus. FIA blocked the regulation for 3 years 2014-2016, to make it recover positions in the standings 1950-2015. In 2018, in the middle of the championship, the tire regulation changed, due to "blistering", do you remember? Otherwise ferrari would win :-( ... Sorry, It wasn't a good thing they would have threatened to retire again: D
"Allow us to re-join thanks to the introduction of Hybrid engine that would allow us to dominate only to leave once our domination will be over..Unlike REAL great teams that keep fighting during tough seasons"
People who watch F1 five minutes ago feel the need to mention Mercedes
You are young. Good for ya
Mercedes surpassed Williams in just 6 years. 6 FUCKING YEARS. And the rate just keeps getting higher. If it were to stay like that. They will surpass Ferrari in less than 4 years.
just for knowledge
Ferrari 69th win: Carlos Ruetemann
lotus: Mario Andretti
McLaren: Ayrton senna
Williams: Damon hill
Mercedes: valterri bottas (everyone must be thinking Lewis, gotcha😂)

@@sashamedic613 come on u idiot red bull doesn't even have 69 grand Prix wins
F1: *exists*
Mercedes drivers after 2014 : we bout to end this man's whole career
shows how much they dominate, and how much the FIA doesnt stop them (like they did to Ferrari and RB)
@@sharl_leg FIA has to react faster, the dominations are too long
@@sharl_leg The FIA doesn't try to stop them? Before COVID-19 we were about to head into a second major regulations overhaul in 7 years. They unfroze engine development because the Mercedes power train was that good. The cost cap is designed to smack right at the heart of Mercedes's organisational dominance. The change in aero regs to reduce the massive aero advantage Mercedes has had over recent years, too.
Ferrari dominated to a significant extent (though not exclusively) because of tyres, so the FIA changes the points system and the tyre regs to even the field up.
Red Bull dominated because of blown diffuser technology and their flexible front wing so the FIA ban them (flexible front wings were already banned but Red Bull found a way around the tests) to even the field up.
Mercedes dominate because of their engine, so the FIA unfreeze engine development and then make the cars far more reliant on aero performance to even the field up. Mercedes dominate again so the FIA then makes the cars far less reliant on aero performance, refreezes engine development now that there is something close to parity, and stops the biggest teams using a financial advantage to out-develop their competitors to even the field up.
The rules have changed to slow Mercedes down just as much as with Red Bull and Ferrari. Mercedes have just been far better at adapting, staying ahead, and sometimes pulling even further ahead. It is also worth remembering that Ferrari had the quicker car on more weekends than Mercedes in 2017 and 2018. Bottas was behind both Ferraris and a Red Bull in 2018 and behind Vettel in 2017. Mercedes won the titles that year because they had a better lead driver. The two cars were roughly equal, it is just that Hamilton thrashed Vettel
@@sharl_leg like the other guy said, you are talking bs. Mercedes simply is best at adapting, and they have the best drivers, therefore they deserve the dominating position they hold. It's not the job of FIA to put Ferrari on top again when they decide to do a real shitty job with their cars even though they have great drivers.

The fact that Mercedes has won over 90% GPs since 2014 makes this video sad.

Sad to see for most of its history British teams have been highly competitive in this and yet now they have all fallen off a cliff or vanished entirely.
A lot of "non-british" teams, are based in the UK, have factories in the UK and employ british engineers and designers. Teams like RedBull or RacingPoint (Force India), even the Ferrari back in the nineties was designed by British designers I think.

People boo’d Vettel because he was dominant, yet compared to Hamilton, 2010-2013 was as crazy as this season (2021), if not more crazy.
would be really interesting to see Porsche and Lotus exist in the current F1 landscape. Trade in Racing Point for Lotus, and Toro Rosso for Porsche for example.

The Americans loved their Offy engines in the 50's.
Mostly on Indy 500

when you realize mercedes still behind williams and mclaren...
@SharvinPlayz We're not even twelve races in. If Mercedes would've won all races up to the twelfth, they'd be on the same spot as Williams. We first of all haven't had that many races until now and second of all they didn't even win all races, so it will take them at least until race 15 to actually be ahead of Williams. Are you dumb?
Before the Second World War Mercedes-Benz competed in the European Championship, winning three titles. The marque debuted in Formula One in 1954. After winning their first race at the 1954 French Grand Prix, driver Juan Manuel Fangio won another three Grands Prix to win the 1954 Drivers' Championship and repeated this success in 1955. Despite winning two Drivers' Championships, Mercedes-Benz withdrew from motor racing after 1955 in response to the 1955 Le Mans disaster.
Came for the stays, stayed for the music
Sad to see that Maldonado gave Williams their last win
McClaren Honda with ayrton was an monstrous combination...
Well, he won his last 5 races with McLaren powered by a Cosworth (Ford) V8. Had Honda stayed in F1 after 1992 and developed a new V10 engine (the V12 was too heavy) Senna probably would have stayed with McLaren and never went to Williams...

Also Ferrari when they actually can win a race: NO
There is no rush. Our advantage on others is so huge, there really is no rush. Those whok now about F1 know it's just a matter of time before the mighty red italian cars get back on top...and by that time you'll probably see Mercedes leave again because that is just one of the big differences between a mercenary team and real historical team
Ferrari will come again. Best wishes from UK

Awesome video though
1957 and 1958. Ferrari, Alfa Romeo and Maserati in the top 3
Yep, before the British teams began transforming F1 to the world's leading motor sport in the 1960's. Rear-engined cars, monocoque chassis, engine as a stressed member of the chassis, wings, inboard brakes etc etc.
When Lotus won the 1965 Indy500 with Jim Clark it was proof the American USAC (Indy) roadsters weren't the most advanced racing series. Ferrari tried to beat the USAC roadsters at Indy in 1952 but failed even to finish the race.
Btw, this is why Ford went to John Wyer (British), Eric Broadley(British) and Roy Lunn(British) to design the Ford GT40 and to Cosworth(British) to design the most successful F1 engine ever the Cosworth DFV V8.
Btw, the present day Mercedes F1 team is based in Britain (both chassis and power unit) as is the Red Bull team (Milton Keynes).
Past glory is no good to present day Baghdad, Iraq - even if it was a scientific center full of great mathematicians, surgeons, astronomers and architects a thousand years ago.
What matters is today. Peace.
Fun stats... kimi just had too be the man too win Ferrari's 200th race... 👍👍👍
Lotus and Ferrari reminded me of the euro 2020
This could be re-made with 2 additional versions, which also are as much correct as this one. Few of the top teams have always been known with their names that still exixt, yet some teams have changed names quite a few times, and become something else. I think 3 different teams have raced under Lotus name and current Renault team has nothing to do with the late-70's Renault, and the history of current mercedes is something else than what 50's mercedes was... It is very interesting stuff and can sometimes be quite confusing.
Por isso que é preocupante a situação da Williams, pois é terceira equipe da história da Fórmula 1. Isso precisa ser resolvido, a Williams precisa ser salva.
I Recommend that you combine Renault and Benetton's win tally. Benetton sold to Renault F1 team. They sold it on ('Lotus') and bought it back (Renault Sport F1 team) now racing as 'Alpine'. That Enstone-based team that we all know as Benetton / Renault.
the music when Mercedes climbs in the ranking is well suited: little by little without a hitch

Some errors in the video: 81 wins of Lotus, not 79! There are 2 in the 2000's which were no counted... There are some GP's who had no winning driver! Why?!
