We have all made that mistake of overwatering seedlings. A few years ago I switched to the red plastic cup in another cup method, with a stone between them and slits in the bottom of the top cup. this way you only add water to the bottom cup and let the roots of the plant in the top cup go get the water as needed. It has really made a difference
Your right about starting seeds to early. I did that last year. All did was bring them in and out. They was getting to big so I had to get a small green house to keep them in. Plus I had to many plants.
Hey Riley. Cool stuff! I think it would be cool to know your organic potting soil recipe. And what about pests indoors? No issues? I have an indoor and garage setup for seeds. I only use compressed seed mix that I add a few nutrients to indoors. And for the garage I use my homemade compost. I don't mind insects in garage. And by the way I've learned to use your blue tape method for a couple years now from a earlier video. Way better! Good tip.
Really glad you liked that tip for labeling the seedlings. I have tried 2 or 3 different potting soils over the past few years. All pretty much middle of the when it comes to cost. I just pick some up each year at HD or Lowes when I'm in the store. I'll be honest that I have never had any issues with insects in the room I grow my seedlings in (spare bedroom). I'm going to look into this though as it may be good for a potential video. Thanks for the input.
I think many have insect issues too from overwatering. Side Note: the compressed seed mix I believe doesn't allow for anything to live in during storage on the shelf. Never had issues with that.

Transplant into a larger container with organic potting soil once they have their first set of true leaves.
