I love Greg's drum programming, and that guitar lead is amazing. Also, I'm pretty sure he's playing his Roland Juno 6 synthesizer for the bass track. Damn, I would love to hear more Generator demos like this if they existed. I can't even listen to the original anymore, and it was one of my favorite tracks on the album but this just has a certain something that got lost in the production.
This is the best Bad Religion song never been played live and this version is even greater than the one on the album. That guitar is pure magic. I'm speechless, really.
Greg wrote the song, but are you saying that he also played the drums on this? I'm new to creating music, so when people say that someone did a song all by themselves, I don't know whether that means they wrote the song by themself or if they recorded all the instruments by themself also
@@AlmostaFlipinSkater I could be wrong, but in this demo it sounds like the drums were programmed from a Drum Machine or something similar. So for this, Greg would have programmed and recorded the drum track, then performed and recorded his own guitar, bass and vocal tracks over the top.
I like this version too. the guitar riff adds a whole lot more depth to the song. Plus the raw grainy-ness of the song conjures images of recording it somewhere just on a whim.
You took a time bomb and a case of crackers And you made a maelstrom of organic debris Then you took a work bench and a rusty anvil And you polished them for everyone to see You have created an unhealthy monster Yet you're nowhere, but nowhere to be found So I guess I'll just cope with my provisions From now until the day they lay me down You took a baboon and made him perfect You took a lion and stripped him of his pride Then you took a million more varieties, a scalpel, and a sartory And you stitched up a horrible surprise You have created an unsocial monster Yet you're searched for all over the globe And most believe that things could sure be better If you'd come down here and tell us what you know Who is to blame for this? Someone tell me please His handiwork is flawed and it's there for all to see Mutations, aberrations, and blatant anomalies They multiply and give rise to this monstrosity You took the most abundant, smallest bits of matter And you instilled them with affinity And then you stratified accumulations Weeded out bad variations Blended up your unique recipe You have created a powerful monster With direction and purpose all its own And if you were here, would things be any different? What does Greg say in the line that was replaced in the studio version by "so I guess I'll just cope with my provisions from now until the day they lay me down"?
@@kevincloar2443 the gray race was pretty good, new america had some good tracks, new maps of hell has really solid tunes, with Grains of Wrath being one of the best.
This is probably the best demo I've ever heard.
Graffin's pieces for Generator are all at such a high level.
My favourite album, for sure

Sorry to disappoint you...credits go to Greg Graffin since he did the whole song by himself.

Gregs voice is the shit!!
The guitar sound, Greg's voice, background vocals... is just awesome!!! Best version ever!
best band ever
Man this is one of the best be demos I've ever heard. Badass.
How am I first now finding this demo?... this is amazing!
Did you see all the other ones on our channel?
This version just blew me away!!! I am so impressed beyond words.. Up till now I didn't really care for most BR demos
This song has actually never been played live (at least not to our knowledge).
awesome vocals
Almost cry, sickest demo i've hear so far.
Can’t get enough of this version!
Loved the album version... But, hell, this version is fucking amazing.
this is probably the sickest thing since Malaria
i wish bands still sounded like this. its so fucking good
I really love this version!
brilliant in all versions
By far one of their sickest demos!!! Almost wish the released version sounded a bit more like this. Especially the solo. I mean..... wow, hell yeah!
Love this version.....
This is so badass that it could be a metal song.
Perfect.
Farking awsome!, it would be great to see this song back on they're set list
This version is on par with the album version I prefer the vocals on this because they're much more clearly sung.
Better then the album version
no it is not.
I prefer the vocals on the album version (but that's demo vocals for you), but that little hook over the main riff adds a lot
I love them both, but the chorus definitely is powerful here in a different way
Brian Baker wasnt playing with Bad religion in 91'
amazing, never heard this demo, and this is one of my personal favs from generator. thanks!
plus during this period Brian Baker hadn't showed up yet. Gurewitz was still in the band.
In one word; awesome.....
BR Fan FOREVER!!!!!!!!
Great! Better than the album version!
“Bad Religon” Até em baixo d’água. 😉
mejor que la album version
Brian Baker was not in the band in '91. Brett and Greg
Guitar solo in recorded track is much better but I like the intro here
❤❤❤

Lyrics for the song on the recording, the demo is different in the beginning
It's good - but the album version is FAR BETTER. I adore this song from GENERATOR!!!
The album version is good, but this one is great... Can't believe they didn't put this version on the album.
THERE IS NOTHING, nothing, NothIng LIKE BAD RELIGION.
this song is about what's happening now
again
What does Greg say in the line that was replaced in the studio version by "so I guess I'll just cope with my provisions from now until the day they lay me down"?
So in the meantime I will cope with my provisions and the good ones are secular and unsound.......not too sure on the "good ones" though
Mostrosity song!! For me, better than original version
Is it just me or this version is a half tone higher than the album version?
really? he is even a better guitar player than i thought..
ahahahajajajajajajajjaja
The original is too stripped back... This is better
will we see this version on the new album?
RogaDust Bad Religion used to be one of my favorite bands but everything after Stranger Than Fiction sucks...
The Empire Strikes First was pretty good.
@@kevincloar2443 the gray race was pretty good, new america had some good tracks, new maps of hell has really solid tunes, with Grains of Wrath being one of the best.
@@kevincloar2443 Bad take lol
awesome guitar by brian baker!!
Mr. Brett
Better than the album version.
i know, right? i much prefer the guitar's melody in this one
Not graffin, Greg Hetson
Shit guitar solo but nice version as well.
Tengo Five Graffin was never one to brag about his soloing ability.
How's YOUR career going, champ??
