  • Hi everyone,
    In this week’s ramble I took a trip out to a local dealership to have a look at the Royal Enfield range and have a sit on a Himalayan 411. The journey home was a little concerning….
    Beena.

    Morning Beena, Baltic here mate white with frost and the early morning sun gone an£ now grey misery, modular helmets generally heavy and all the weight is in the front of the lid which make them tiring to wear also the chin bar always seems close to your chin, had a couple in short order and never want another, open face for me these days. Bought my 749 Ducati at cooperb motorcycles many years ago good lads, understand they are Enfield dealers now.. …..Pete🇫🇷

      @@PeterHolland-mu7yn Morning Pete. I had a Nolan modular years ago and I loved it. It fitted great and had plenty of room for my chin. You’re right though - they are a bit heavy.

      Funnily enough I have 2 Nolan lids sort of jet helmet full face fit full visor no chin guard and an optional peak, I use them if I “have” to do a long ride in the depths of winter, bought myself some orbit hard cases from Hepco & Becker, to replace my original set of semi rigid H&B panniers, which are 12 years old, look good and WP that’s what I did last week, looking forward to May, I wonder if at 6c and moving at a 100kph so lowering the temp even more that a sensor or something is not liking the extreme cold, seem strange that when you slowed down at the junction it stopped playing up poss the heat of the motor heating up the offending part / bit / sensor ? Just a thought,

      @ Sounds plausible. I’ve got him booked in for this Friday so they can have a look and see if anything is wrong.

      Hi Beena and Peter, strangely enough my Meteor has done the same thing about 3 or 4 times in 5k miles and it’s only done it when I’ve been doing a sustained high(ish) speed, it’s always cleared quickly after I slow down a bit, so far I haven’t been able to identify the problem but as Peter said, I suspect it’s a sensor or contact issue (RE grease issue ?) I’m leaning toward a temp sensor issue as that is renowned for EML light problems, it’ll be interesting to see what your dealer has to say on Friday, all the best 👍

      @PhilipBallGarry 8 днів тому +1

      The only noticable vibrations I've had with my Classic 350 were between 60-70mph and then quite mild. With just under 4000 miles covered now, they've gone too. 😊

    That was fun. Somewhat enthused about the highway speed and stability of Walter. Oops , didn't see the end😮Do take care.

    • @BulletBeena
      @BulletBeena  9 днів тому

      They are very stable at speed - the weight helps with that I guess. Will hold 70mph but is happier at 60mph and even happier at 50mph. I wouldn't want to do any big miles at 60+ to be honest.

  • @GlynOC
    @GlynOC 8 днів тому +2

    I'm sure it's not a serious problem, maybe a bit of connection cleaning or the HT lead/cap/plug maybe. Maybe it'll just never do it ever again! I reckon you'll find a way to obtain that Himalayan before next winter now your focus has been brought to bear on it 👍

    • @BulletBeena
      @BulletBeena  8 днів тому

      @@GlynOC I went out today on Walter and blatted down a dual carriageway at 70mph for ten minutes and down some country roads at 60mph for around 15 mins straight and had zero issues. The entire ride was perfect. So you’re probably right Glyn - it may never happen again. He’s booked in to the dealers next Friday and I’m getting a loan bike, so at least I get to play on something different for the day as a bonus 🙂
      You might be right on the Himalayan front as well. I think if I get to test ride one and I like it then it’ll be game over and I’ll be selling watches to get one.
      When are we going to be seeing your latest project? I’m jonesing for some Glyn action (that sounded way less creepy in my head! 🤣).

    • @BulletBeena
      @BulletBeena  4 дні тому +1

      @@sonnyday6830 It’s a traffic calming measure to slow down the traffic heading into the village. As the speed limit is 60mph just before you enter the village and it’s a straight road through, I imagine that the people at that end have obviously had issues with vehicles speeding past their houses. So the road has been artificially narrowed to deliberately slow it down to the correct speed of 30mph.
