The Passer Rating doesn't even come close to telling the whole story. Just because he's not making many mistakes, doesn't mean he's making plays - he's missed a lot of opportunities.
@jehushaphat I have watched him play... which is where my opinion on the subject came from 😅 I don't think Purdy is bad, I've been saying he's just above average all along.
Nick points to this season as being more indictive of how Brock will play going forward without as much talent, but one thing none of them point out is that there is a difference between going into a season having a less talented team around you, and having that occur during the season due to injuries. If Purdy had an off-season with Jennings as his primary target, Pearsall not being out with a gunshot wound, Guerendo in there as RB, and Shanahan coming up with a game plan that suited this group of players, the on-field play might have been at least a little better.
Nick is 100% right about KC practicing scenarios in a real game. They would rather go into a Super Bowl with 1 more loss and 100% prepared than 1 more win and 99% prepared. You're talking about the 3 peat. You don't enter that 99% ready.
😂😂Yall both reaching really hard with that. They don't have the players right now. I watch the game Mahommes aint practicing running for his life getting sacked and knocked around. Not saying they won't get better but cmon now they sqeaked by the Panthers
No offense but I think this is totally delusional. The chiefs have broken people’s brains since last year because of how they won the superbowl, everyone thinks they must be so good that they are constantly in control of every game. The reality is they are trying to win every game just like any other team, they aren’t running science experiments on 3rd down with the 1 seed and a first round bye at risk…every team experiments to some degree in the NFL, but the season shows that the chiefs offense overall is just not as good as it used to be.
I believe the 49ers current WR core has the worst separation rate of any other team in the league. Purdy is having to throw completely perfect tight window dimes or else they can’t complete a pass. Something nobody mentions
One of the things that was supposedly so great about Purdy, at least according to his diehards, was that he was elite at throwing accurately into tight windows and with anticipation.
@@juultoo then go back to being QB coach and not the coach of the entire team. Because not only has Mahomes regressed, the whole offense has. They average the same amount of points as Nagy did as the head coach of Chicago

In Mahomes 2nd year (1st as QB1), he had 5,097 Regular Season Passing Yards, 50 Passing TD'S, 12 INT'S, won MVP & OPOY. In his 2nd year as QB1, Mahomes won the SB & SBMVP.
@@jenniferaceste8823 homes also had one of the best rosters in the NFL. So don’t act like Mahomes didn’t get any help and played with average guys. @@caughtinthevoidfloyd5821He hasn’t been great afterwards. This season, 17 total tds and 11 total turnovers in 11 games started. Thats not great unless you think that Kyler, Tua and Geno are being great this season too. His stats are similar to theirs, hence the records being similar as well.
@ Maholmes isn’t having a great year. However what he has done unlike Brock is in clutch situation come through. We saw it when they played head to head. Brock under threw Kittle and Cowing for tds which then resulted in a field goal and an interception on those drives. Maholmes had two big scrambles, one where he trucked Mustafa for a td to take that game over.
@saint14johnson ?? Mahomes only td in regulation came after a muffed punt? Purdy has o line ranked 24tg against the pass. Mahones has a top o line. Purdy put his team in the lead in OT in the SB and the defense let them score. Had they elected to kick the ball they wouldve had to punt and game over
This Purdy take isn't groundbreaking; every quarterback struggles with injuries to members in the offense. The struggle is more due to the lack of continuity and flow in the offense than due to the ineptitude or lack of talent of the quarterback. The most fair thing we can do is to gauge how Purdy plays next season without the frequent changes in key offensive personnel.
As a chiefs fan, the theory that the chiefs are using the regular season as practice to work on things is absurd. That is what practice is for. And the problem is that Matt Nagy has had a negative influence on this team and they just cannot execute the basics when needed (lack of deep ball success, not having hopkins play more snaps). The team lacks consistent explosion. If it translates at all into the playoffs, which is possible when being in a habit of bad play calling and execution, then there will be no three-peat.
Does anyone else find that to be disrespectful by Nick saying that Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs offense are basically practicing against other defenses on the field, what it sounds like to me is “we’re so good and we’re not taking the game serious so we’re just gonna practice” I don’t think I’m wording it very good but hopefully somebody in the comments understands what I’m trying to say
Do these GMs know that they have 3 Franchise Tags they can use? It is a mistake to pay a QB you drafted before he wins you a Super Bowl. Since 2000, Peyton Manning has been the ONLY QB who needed 5 years or more as the starter to win a Super Bowl for the team that drafted him. QBs need to be treated like RBs. Disposable. LOL
Bingo! Teams need to stop overpaying decent to good QBs elite money. Some team is going to buck the trend. I hope it’s the Niners. None of those teams paying elite money for those QBs are legitimately winning the Super Bowl or guaranteed to be in the playoffs each year.
Nick let me teach you Shannahan football . The reason they like athletic QB’s is because they can get the ball to the running back faster . It’s what Kubiak liked about Tyron Taylor and that’s why he brought him to Denver from Baltimore .
Jalen Hurts has taken so much disrespect… it’s unbelievable… there was no reason to bring up Jalens name… and then make it seem like it’s his fault that his GM know how to put a team together…. He handled it so well… mucho prayers your way brother
Brock is doing the best he can with what he's been given....he's still top 4 all time in Niner playoffs wins and is the best QB the Niners have had since Steve Young.
What's funny is that for years all of you have said Lamar can't throw but in seven years he's yet to have a WR to the caliber of what Mahomes has had, Burrow has had, Allen has had Cousins has had, Stafford has had Ryan has had Tua has had, Donald has had Lawrence has had...?
Purdy has one of the worst O-Lines in the NFL in terms of pass blocking, PFF is BS. Watch the games, clearly Nick doesn't watch the game. They cannot pass block, meanwhile the team has limited speed at best. The 49ers need to rebuild the O-Line now.
Party was the last pick in the draft who generally just end up on the practice squad. He would be incredibly smart to just ask for 25 30 mil a year. That way he keeps getting teammates around him and they know he's a team guy
Purdy has to play better. He would be the first to say it. In fact I think he's been saying it all year. Debo even told a story about purdy beating himself up on the plane after a win.
But aye man, I’m tired of people talking about Brock like he been in the league 5-6 years. He’s basically in year 2 as a full time starter. Of course he needs support. Most young QBs do. Josh Allen second year starting he was MID. So I don’t get the whole argument about Purdy needs everything perfect. He doesn’t. He just needs protection and receivers to get open. He’s still growing and we’ll see what he turns into in a few years when the game slows down for him. Growth and development is needed.
Purdy deserves a good contract. But it should never be required to reset the market for a qb contract. The biggest problem for purdy is he’s been far more successful than Herbert, Lawrence, Tia, or Dak, yet they aren’t scrutinized to the level that purdy has been He’s even been more successful than Jalen, who has a giant contract. To deny him is not right compared to his counterparts, worth it or not. It’s just how the market works these days.
Not really understanding all the hate purdy continues to get. Nick just sits patiently waiting for purdy to do anything remotely "bad" and slam him for it. I do agree that it's unfair to judge purdy on this season. When a team is constructed to have A+ starters all around...there is significantly less resources to add depth which leaves C- and D/F players as the backups. I'll wait to judge Purdy once the team sheds some of the Avengers and is focused on Purdy. 2-3 A players and a bunch of B-C level players.
It would be the height of cold, corporate cynicism for the Niners to pay Brock Purdy the rookie minimum while he’s bailing them out of the Trey Lance fiasco, and then trade him when it’s time for a new contract. Shanahan and Lynch should be paying that kid out of their own pockets for saving their jobs. And is Purdy even asking for Dak money? He seems like the kind of guy that would take less so the team can have more, like Brady always did.
Deebo Resign was a terrible deal... He was not good at the time, we needed other positions, and It made it unnecessarily hard to sign Aiyuk who was a way better receiver
No Nick, if all your players are average, you arent an average team, because all teams have the money put somewhere other than the QB(QBs get paid and still have stars on the team). I'd like to see a stat on cap hit of missed time, per team. The Oline looked better, but that's also tied to Purdy's scrambling getting better. It still feels like he is running for his life half the dropbacks. Not signing Purdy will be giving up on the next 5 years. Im not saying he is a 60M QB because he isnt, just like most of them, but 50M is great.

Purdy is avg. maybe slightly above avg. Jordan Love, Herbert are Good for example.
@ I agree Herbert is a level ahead and love definitely has more Intangibles than Purdy without question but Purdy has definitively proved himself to be more clutch the love throughout both of their careers. Especially in the post season And that’s a fact that can’t be disputed by film or numbers
Future reference…. Let’s not compare Brock to Mahomes no more!
Mahomes is Mahomes! You can compare him to anyone else if you want.
You can compare play in relation to numbers….what other QBs don’t have is Andy Reid, Spags, or elite special teams. The chiefs are a great “team”….they usually win 2 of the 3 phases which is why it’s hard to beat them
@@deciuswtasby The Chiefs don't have elite special teams. They have consistently had horrible special teams for Mahomes entire career. And I don't know why people keep pretending like Spags is some elite D coordinator lmao. He's had one elite defense in 6 years.
Put Spags on the 9ers and they probably have two rings over the Chiefs
@@garrett2857consistently bad special teams? You mean one of the most consistent kickers ever even from long range… it’s funny when it was Brady we never stopped hearing about Adam Vinatieri, but all of a sudden we are gonna bury Harrison Butker’s impact on the Super Bowls they’ve won?
Comparing quarterback stats, which are very comparable, but not creatively with the ball or anything else.
I swear the people that hate Purdy dont watch all the games. They watch a snf or tnf but dont watch the season. Was mvp conversation for 2 of his 3 seasons and the only reason he wasnt a finalist his forst year its because he played half a season in which he was umdefeated

Yeah that’s wild. Top 10 maybe

I am with you Wildes. The Chiefs aren’t practicing. Nick is missing a lightbulb. I am a Chief’s fan. Andy called a bad play.
I agree with Nick on Brock Purdy. I blame the head coach for the season but it has not been looking good for Brock.
Is it really necessary for the chiefs to be in every show
Yes
Well the ratings are great and they talk about the Chiefs all the time...doesnt take a rocket scientist to connect the dots does it?
nick tosses kc salad before every show.
This has to be one of the dumbest questions I've ever read. Is it necessary for the 2 time(hasn't been done in 20 years) defending champion attempting to 3 peat (never been done before) who is 11-1 to be discussed on a show that only talks about the NFL? Golly, I don't know Jessie, you tell me.
When your 2 time world champions. Yes
WTH would the niners would trade their franchise QB. Brock is a humble guy and wouldn't wanna be the highest paid QB.
pssst.... The actual problem is simple.... Release Staley. This is the Staley effect. They brought him in and Defense tanked haha
Niner fans lowkey agreeing with Nick now 😂😂 who of them wants to pay purdy freaking 60 million a year?!?
They don't wanna address that part😂😂😂😂
Yup
People really acting like its a shot a Purdy to point out how objectively stupid it would be have him making 60 mil
If we ask 9ers fans they would say he went toe to toe with Pat in the Super Bowl out played him and should’ve won with a worse team and a much worse coach (they want him fired) yet Mahomes got 10 for 500 so I guess 9ers want purdy to get 10 for 600
Saying that they should reset and get a qb if they are top 10 draft pick is the stupidest thing I’ve ever heard. This draft class besides shedeur is probably one of the worst quarterback drafts in a LONGGGG TIME. Nick obviously doesn’t watch college football at all.
Nick watches enough football to understand if he wasn't getting it done with 1mil he probably won't get it done with 60mil and a lesser roster.
@ but to say that they are going to draft a qb to replace him with put them years behind lol. There’s only one good qb in this draft and the rest are dogshit. None of them come even close to shadeur and I don’t even like Colorado nor am I a fan. The other qbs have MAJOR flaws that definitely won’t translate to the next level. Has nothing to do with Brock and if you think that you’re just as stupid as nick(who only says hot takes for clicks it’s his job)
@@aximus11 The Miami qb is also pretty good
Nick has been saying Purdy is only good because the offense is stacked. Looks like he was right about that.

This season is on everyone and the injuries. That said though, this season proved that Purdy isn’t a “carry the team” kinda qb, which tbf most aren’t. I still think he’s a tier 2 qb that’s just having a down year

Why are we acting like he’s not young. He can still develop, there’s no guarantee whoever they draft will be better
No guarantee that Brock will improve either. He doesn’t have the physical attributes to grow his game. Doesn’t have a strong arm and is kinda short for the position. Mentally he would need to have a major growth before defenses figure him out completely.
We’ve seen purdy’s celling. And he’s not good enough to drain the roster for to give him $50M/yr.

The Passer Rating doesn't even come close to telling the whole story. Just because he's not making many mistakes, doesn't mean he's making plays - he's missed a lot of opportunities.

I’m not saying the Chiefs gonna lose anything until they DO! Those mfs always pull out some magic and win

You're talking about the 3 peat. You don't enter that 99% ready.

No one is giving a 1 for Purdy 😂😂😂😂
I believe the 49ers current WR core has the worst separation rate of any other team in the league. Purdy is having to throw completely perfect tight window dimes or else they can’t complete a pass. Something nobody mentions
One of the things that was supposedly so great about Purdy, at least according to his diehards, was that he was elite at throwing accurately into tight windows and with anticipation.

@@jenniferaceste8823 Mahomes was ridiculous his first season starting. Why dosen’t he play like he used to?
@@jenniferaceste8823 homes also had one of the best rosters in the NFL.
Had they elected to kick the ball they wouldve had to punt and game over
If Nick said "experimenting" instead of "practicing" i feel like everyone would hate that take less
Purdy should sit out if they don’t want to pay him this year. He’s earned the brand, coaches, players, millions.
WILDES FOR PREZ!!!!
Preach brother!!!
I hate that he continues to diss Purdy for Trey Lance pick... Purdy is still a top 10-12 QB in the league..
Nick’s explanation on why the chiefs don’t look dominant is because they’re practicing is absurd. What was the off season for?
As a Browns fan, this QB conversation sounds familiar. Find a way to make a deal that makes sense for both sides.
OBJ. Hollywood Brown.
Purdy has one of the worst O-Lines in the NFL in terms of pass blocking, PFF is BS. Watch the games, clearly Nick doesn't watch the game. They cannot pass block, meanwhile the team has limited speed at best. The 49ers need to rebuild the O-Line now.
Nick really loves Purdy!
Party was the last pick in the draft who generally just end up on the practice squad. He would be incredibly smart to just ask for 25 30 mil a year. That way he keeps getting teammates around him and they know he's a team guy
I guarantee you there was a bet before the show to see how many times Brou could say the word edging😂
Good upload timing guys!!
Purdy has to play better. He would be the first to say it. In fact I think he's been saying it all year. Debo even told a story about purdy beating himself up on the plane after a win.
Detroit is to John Holmes as Kansas City is to Hugh Hefner.
Most no brainer decision is paying this guy. He seems like the type of guy to take a salary cut later in career to get better weapons for better wins.
Purdy has done enough to get paid. Put Darnold without Jefferson. Would he be just as good?
Purdy deserves a good contract.
But it should never be required to reset the market for a qb contract.
The biggest problem for purdy is he’s been far more successful than Herbert, Lawrence, Tia, or Dak, yet they aren’t scrutinized to the level that purdy has been
He’s even been more successful than Jalen, who has a giant contract.
I searched for that quote and listened to that press conference…he didn’t say that at all. 13:43
If yall questioned Lamar money then yes Purdy doesn't deserve his money!!! No way!!!
Deebo Resign was a terrible deal... He was not good at the time, we needed other positions, and It made it unnecessarily hard to sign Aiyuk who was a way better receiver
Mahomes was without, Pacheco, Rice and Hollywood Brown this season.... But people are saying he sucks... Even at 11-1🤨
