So many things to say. First, the diplomat was simplistic and shallow. Second a diplomat would not plan strategy, nor would he be put in charge of a battle group, nor would he participate in a raid. Then to top it off a magical artifact, capable of destroying much and controlling the galaxy. At the end a Deus Ex Machina.
You do realize historically most diplomats were at one time in their life soldiers right?
