    Exellent teaching video for medical students during their surgical rotation! Any MD should have some understanding of wound types and factors that impair healing. Good medicine is based on basic anatomy and physiology. This video is now compulsory exam material for all medical students doing their 12 week surgical rotation with me. Thank you for this content.

    What is your opinion on route canals? How are they different than an implant which I guess is made from antimicrobial materials but still? What would you do if a person had to have a giant molar pulled out of their mouth because it was cracked? Would you go root canal?

    @Dr. John Campbell - We are trying to heal some cats that have ended up in our backyard with head wounds. We have washed them, disinfected them and bandaged them by applying paw-paw ointment on the bandages to stop them from sticking to the wounds, but every morning when we removed the bandages to wash the wounds the the granulated tissues that has formed overnight immediately comes off when the cats shake their heads or after we wash their wounds. So, every day is the same problem because the wounds have to start their healing process again without any solution. We have tried not to apply bandages to the wounds to try and speed up the healing process but this is not working either. On the other hand if we try not to wash their wounds every day they start to smell really bad. So, can you give us your urgent advice please? We do not want to put the cats down and would like to give them a chance at healing themselves. .

    • @Campbellteaching
      @Campbellteaching  7 років тому

      If the wounds are smelling, that probably means they are infected. You need to apply the dressings so they stay on for longer, otherwise you will be constantly disturbing the granulation tissue. If the infection is treated with antibiotics, this will be possible. If you do not have systemic antibiotics available, or can not afford them, you will have to use an agent to clean the wounds, some form of wound antiseptic. Perhaps try germoline cream, or other antiseptic ointment. this will provide antibacterial activity and a moist wound healing environment. I hope they get better.

      @ Dr. John Campbell - Thank you sir for your prompt reply. The wounds only smell if we don't wash them every day. But if we wash their wounds everyday the granulation becomes moist and comes off quickly if the cats shake their head. I just did a search on the internet and found a product called Activated Charcoal to stop the wound from smelling bad. If really works as they say then maybe we can put off washing their wounds on a daily basis, to allow the granulation process to work faster and falls off naturally. We have tried antibiotics and we have been using antiseptics, but we've been told that antiseptics prevents the healing process. We tried Paw Paw Ointment but this delayed the granulation process. They had developed an infection in their ears from the Chemtrail particulates they keep spraying on a daily basis in our sky, and it only cleared up completely after we began washing their ears every day with special wet cloths dipped in lightly soapy water which dislodges them. Their head wounds have closed up which is good, it's just the surface skin that has failed to heal due to this constant disruption of the granulation process. We might give the Activated Charcoal a try and see whether it works or not and we will keep you posted. Here are the links I'm referring to: www.woundsource.com/blog/wound-odor-management-charcoal-wound-dressings
      and www.charcoalremedies.com/wounds

      It sound like your idea is well worth a try, well worked out. Its so bad people are spraying chemicals in the sky, where is this, it needs to be stopped.
