Yes even with 1500 hp, 1000 hp r8s would walk it, not just because of aerodynamics but because the thing is 6500 lbs. It is impressive that these trucks can be had for 80k and can beat up on all sports cars , a lot of muscle cars, and some super cars while it is 2x the weight. The svj weighs 3600 ish lbs and has 760 horsepower, mike's truck has about 900hp at 6500 lbs and it is going to beat the lambo.

dont get me wrong this is epic. But I can't help but feel it makes some extreme vulnerabilities that undermine the design of the truck. Losing the massive air filter intake set up for one. then the turbos are down low exposed to everything. if they could put the turbos under the hood somewhere I feel it would be better. Def can't take it though the 32" of water its rated to stock anymore. Heck road salt and slush might even be an issue.

That is first thing i thought of even after he said "Not losing any offroad capability" @2:20 which you are losing a ton give how much air those turbos can suck in of mud and water. @John Clark look little more forward from there you can see the air filters mounted directly on the turbo on under side of the truck. frankly worst spot in my view to put them on a 4x4.

Ehh it’s not widely known but if you are true car guy you should know about it already. Volvo does it from the factory… it’s just feeding the stock supercharger already compressed air so it then further compresses it.

Bro! It seems like a bit of an oversight by that speed shop. But couldn't they have put like long tubes on the front of the turbos cold inlets so they won't get super dirty or saturated by water. I would hate for you to suck up a bunch of water and ruin the engine.
Fabulous power gains and great installation but may I ask if you have any concerns with the air filters being so low to the ground especially if you need to go through deep water
That turbo placement is very unwise. You shouldn't submerge them in water and they are going to get caked in mud and dirt and become giant heat syncs that are just going to burn up your oil (if they are oil coiled). Thats fine on a Gallardo, but not Ram TRX

@@trentmarullo5893 Yeah, that was on my mind too. I do agree, the install was done very professionally and looks very clean. It just worries me when people low mount turbos especially on an off-road vehicle where people will be driving through dirt, mud and water puddles.
@@vfr800fi07 agreed and that was my primary concern and the trans temps are next. The other worry is that turbos have a habit of getting really hot and glowing. All of that heat is right below you feet and could potentially damage/destroy the floor pan of the vehicle. Like I said my first concern was about sucking water and/or mud up into the turbos and then into the engine.
You might wanna build some custom skid plates to protect the turbos. Maybe even use that ultra high molecular polymer or whatever just to keep them protected even if not safe from full on rock damage. Even just plastic shield extended off the factory skid
Curious to see how this will handle heat soak or if you’re gonna need to add a dick load of cooling mods. Heat soak is one of the biggest reasons you don’t see compound boost setups (SC/TC) that much. Super inefficient but they’re so dang cool lol.

It's now a truck that can't be driven in the rain or go mudding. I can't stand the laziness with these speed shops that just through a cone filter directly on the turbo and say that's good enough

With that said, that was wet dirt and grass at best. If you were to take that truck in deep soupy mud, those filters would get plugged faster than a pedophile in prison. The water spray from the front tires will drench those filters if you drive it in the rain. You really need a proper intake pipe and filter setup to the turbos if you want to drive it in any conditions. Not trying to be a Debbie Downer, just stating the obvious

The filter is right on front of the turbo I would be more worried about sucking water into the engine and locking it up. Mud and splashing water probably be ok but if the turbos went completely under water it would lock engine up no questions asked even guy that put them on there would tell Mike that it's not designed for that now if he ran filters up back under the hood and back to factory height of where the old intake was no problem. I would even consider running the intakes into bed of truck or something in each corner. Mud on the turbo will be ok it sucking up water will not

Put e-85 in the gas tank and see what it does against the lambo in drag race and roll race...also on the drag do both the 1/4 and the half mile...obviously on a track or a road where there's twists and turns and corners, elevation changes, etc the svj wins regardless of fuel

They should've put the turn downs from the turbos integrated into the exhaust. You lose the blow off sound, but for going off road, it would be nicer.

Those open pipes are the wastegates, right? They let the exhaust bypass the turbines when off the throttle. Air should only exit there.

Put e-85 in the gas tank and see what it does against the lambo in drag race and roll race...also on the drag do both the 1/4 and the half mile...obviously on a track or a road where there's twists and turns and corners, elevation changes, etc the svj wins regardless of fuel
