Excellent from the unboxing onwards. You speak clearly at a pace that allows one to absorb what you are saying. Some "reviewers" give no time to see or understand. You give no quarter but overall I was reassured at my choice after ditching all my DSLR Canon gear for the simple life. So its a curates egg, good in parts. Thank you.
Another thing that make this is a good travel camera is that you can charge the battery with AA battery pack with USB out terminal. If you were in remote area without reliable electricity you could charge this camera with the AA battery pack if you were desperate. With the Canon G7x mk2 you can't do that , you can recharge it with a power bank but AA battery pack doesn't have enough output for the Canon battery.
You got my like, when you did the unboxing. That was hilarious! :D And I immediately checked the exposure compensation problem. I have that too on my GX80. But I would exist the exposure compensation anyway before I do anything else, so no problem there.
Yeah, for most people this will not be an issue, but I prefer "shooting priority" controls; shutter button and video rec button when pressed override everything else and take image/start recording instantly.

Canon G7xMk2 has 4k limit for videos , at highest setting it will stop automatically after about 16 mins. The LX10 keeps recording for 29 minutes , its starts a new file as soon as 4k is reached which the Canon doesn't do.

I find myself going back to this video everytime Panasonic manages to confuse me with their menus etc., what affects which ...is it just the photo settings or the video settings or both? I'm coming from the canon world. I do own an LX10 for 1 year now and still learning it. Thank you for this video and for the work you put into it.
This is a solid robust little camera that has a convoluted and confusing setup & menu - big issues I have had trying to learn how to use this camera is finding out no auto iso for video mode?? Auto iso would have been nice and it's a feature I use on my Canon dslr and samsung nx cameras. Also the screen is hard to see in full sun. Great video and after watching this I have set the zoom ring to iso and left the back dial for Shutter speed so now I have full control of the iso/ss & aperture with the dials.

Thank you so much. I just watched it and the gx80 seems quite impressive (expecially in low light with high iso), but I found the lx100 with 1.7-2.8 lens (not exchangeable) at the same price. I can't find such a fast lens (bright and maybe sharp in video) with zoom at a good price for the gx80. Don't you think that the lx100 would be much sharp than gx80 with kit lens? Again thank you, I really appreciate your advices :)
Yeah, that lens is hard to beat. With GX80 you would be stuck with boring 3.5-5.6 kit lens or need to overspend. Sadly I don't have first hand experience with LX100 (never managed to get one for review) so you'll have to find as much samples from both cameras and decide if you see any significant difference in video quality. Sorry if I cannot help you more.

Anyone owning that camera had a trouble with the sound the camera makes? It sounds like a ventilation from the inside. Only when the lens is out. Some says the noise comes from the stabilisation or autofocus, but it sounds very noisy to be just that? I just got that camera and I've had an hybrid one for years without any sound like that. I might sound dumb but I'd really like to know if it is a normal thing. x
Stabilization systems, both in lens and IBIS can sound like that (humming similar to fan noise). Some are louder than others. It's been a long time since I reviewed LX10 and don't remember how loud IBIS is on this camera but it's probably that. You can try to disable stabilization and hear if the noise is gone.
Is this statement true? I do have the canon s95 from 2011 and haven't replaced it. Even though I know the S120 is old and later discontinued because of the rise of the 1'' sensor category, I am still looking it up. Now, I pretty much choosing between waiting for the G7X M3 when it will come or getting this LX10. I have the 70D and 100D for stills, so I'm mainly looking for a small camera to put on my zhiyun crane M for video/film making.

If this is difficult to handle, a Sony rxxxx is even harder. I think you say, do not show any Panasonic, because you carry a terrible stupidity due to your checks, which is far from the practical reality! This is already pitiful !
Good review. Recently I returned this camera back to the shop and got refund. It turned out that photo from this camera is generaly comparable with my Samsung 8, so the only adventage (taking photos) was zoom 3x. Handheld video (like in the review) is just horrible. Hard to keep the picture still. Neverending shake. Tripod is the only solution but who uses heavy tripod during holidays.... Do not buy it, at least not for ca 500$.

Tough choice :) If video is a factor, pick Panasonic. For photography I would be inclined to recommend Canon as it has better color rendering.
