      I feel like it will help your motivation in the long run if you decide from early which area you’d want to practice in. But i know that is tough knowing which you’d want seeing you dont have any work experience as a secretary or paralegal I assume. My advice is go be a legal secretary or paralegal first for a year or more. See if you really like it, then take the step to law school. Cheers!

    do you recommend the law to those considering a career in it?

    • @aichatohry3348
      @aichatohry3348  2 роки тому +4

      I do! I just think you need to take the time to find a way to practice law that fits with how you want to live life. Also, people tend to decide to go into law based on certain expectations of how the profession is and those expectations don’t always turn out to match the truth.

    Unfortunately a lot of people see lawyers as greedy, obsessed with money and status and not doing anything 'worthwhile'. They see them as 'hard-nosed' and hard-boiled'. It is unfair really because they don't seem to say that about bankers or accountants as much.

    • @AD-nq2nz
      @AD-nq2nz Рік тому

      I think most people see bankers as being even lower on the ladder of morality than lawyers lol. But yeah, I agree with your sentiment. People talk poorly of lawyers until they need one themselves. At the end of the day, law isn't so different from many other professions - it's needed to keep society running, contrary to what a lot of people would like to believe.

    • @ericcarson342

      @@AD-nq2nz Plumbers, trash collectors, electricians truly keep society moving. Lawyers are a necessary evil. Not sure if bankers are lower on the scale. Accountants are definitely higher on the morality scale.

    Practicing would be fine I suppose without the clients, opposing counsel, and judges. I would never recommend the practice to anyone and would never support anyone choosing to go to law school. The 90s turned it corporate, and the boomers refused to provide mentorship. The rules don’t apply until they do, and post-2001/2002 recession flooded the market with lawyers. You don’t make never enough to compensate for the stress and monotony. Status is garbage. Frankly, I don’t find much positive with the practice. Being great at something terrible doesn’t go a long way to making the practice worth it. Avoid the law.
