Thanks for the comprehensive review. May I add some points of these two cameras. The 2K Pro provide a free the Home Surveillance 7 days event history 8 sec short video in the Cloud, while the C400 provide 90 days trial of the Home Surveillance. When I subscribed the Home Secure under the C400 7 days event history 98 Baht for a month, I found that the unlimited spaces for continuous recording in the Cloud, but the resolution is just VGA 640x368. I have submit a report to ask the help center and wait for replied.

salamat po! gusto ko na sana ng upgrade sa V380 camera bought from 2018. it is sad that there is no Chinese IP camera that really has better image quality. I've seen decent quality from Reolink and more expensive brands in the US but they are at least $100 up to $1000.

Hi, what class of memory card is recommended to use in C400 camera? UHS-I or UHS-II ?? and what should be internet speed for smooth uploading of video on cloud?
Thank you for such a comprehensive video. It is v helpful! May I ask if volume is compromised when you speak through the Mi App on your mobile phone to people at home? Can they hear you loud and clear? I'm asking because I have Tapo Home cameras and when I speak through the app (when I'm not at home) to my family members, my voice is very soft and they cannot hear me properly. I was thinking of switching to Xiaomi home cameras because of this. Thank you.
The same thing with Xiaomi. The sound reception is not good, especially when the Human Tracking of Mi 2K Pro is on. Both brands have yet to perfect their two-way audio feature.

Thank you for this, very helpful video! I am considering which one is the best for me. I have 2 cats in the house and C400 seems like a better option since it can detect them and not take unnecessary photos and notifications all the time. But I am a bit confused with what you said that you need to capture your pets. Did you mean 2K is better? And why?
The Person Detection is improved in C400. Hence, it WON'T detect pets as person as shown in the video comparison when a dog was on the frame.
The Mi 2K Pro detects pet, on the other hand and follows the movement of the pets as in 'human tracking'.

As far as I know, Mi 2K Pro has an option called "physical lens blocking".
Does Xiaomi C400 also have this feature?
Nope. You can just turn it off on screen view page of the app. The newly released C500 has physical lens blocking like the Mi 2K Pro.
Thanks for the comprehensive review. I would like to ask about the image quality between Mi Camera 360 2K (or C300) and C400. Is there a noticeable difference between the two models above? Because C400 does not provide home surveillance for free, only free trials, after three months, either cloud storage and home surveillance won't be able to use for non-paid users. In the other hand, C300 still provides the functions without requiring subscriptions. Thanks in advance.
I don't have C300 but since it's also a 2K camera, then the comparison would also be like this. There'll be no big difference as i've concluded here. Thanks.
Nice review, but you forgot to compare the speakers sounds for both, especially the Mi 2K has noise cancellation, would be interesting to see the sound difference.

@Hi-Tech 'Ta Bai Thanks, I have an old Xiaomi camera, and it's terrible with sound both speaker/microphone it feedback the sound both way, I can hear myself through camera speaker in my phone and same on microphone feedback to its own speaker, how is these cameras perform? are there similar issues with Mi 2K Pro and C400?
@@selphie99 The audio of C400 is more stable since its person detection has been improved. The audio of Mi 2K pro is cut once the camera moves. Although, the 2K Pro has a better quality as we can hear it in this review.
Regarding feedback, the microphone picked up sound should not be heard on the camera's speaker itself.
Maybe, you're phone is too closed the camera hence the feedback.

Thanks for answering. My phone is far in fact outside the house and I still can hear my voice coming back from phone through the microphone of the camera I think i just have a very old camera lol,, I even hear the motor of the camera when moving, its Xiomai model (IMILAB Basic), am confused between these both model, I like 2K Pro for its privacy feature hide the lens and wider vertical view plus has more modern design imo, but most important for me is voice quality, is it much better on C400 or the difference not really big worth it and I should get 2k Pro? I don't need a human detection feature, the voice cut on 2k Pro when moving. Is it once or really bad?
If you priority is audio but chose 2K Pro, you need to turn off the human tracking feature every time you want to talk to someone on the camera while you are outside. This way your audio is not interrupted.

Thanks for the review/comparison. I'm using the mi 2K pro ans was planning to get the c400 but i think I'll stick to the 2k pro instead. As i understand on your comparison there's not much difference in the video quality and i need the better audio. Can you compare the mi wireless outdoor security camera 1080p and mi 2k Pro?
For me, there's no point buying the wireless outdoor because it's only 1080p. 1080p is a thing in the past. There's already 2K, QHD, and 4K.

You need to set it up with your phone and the camera connected to the SAME WiFi network. It means your phone and the camera are in same location during set up.
However, you can have the camera set up in the USA by somebody else using his/her Mi account. Then, your Mi account should be added to his/her Mi Home app so that you will have access to the camera.
I think that's the workaround.

which of this two can you highly recommend?... i was considering the storage wherein the mi 2k can only handle 32g and the c400 can do 256g... help me out lodz. to me, both of this cams are great. 😅
For home use only, you don't need much storage. Actually, the Mi 2K Pro can handle up to 64GB.
One criterium as basis to select: the C400 has improved person detection. Thus, its Human Tracking only works for human.
On the other hand, the 2K Pro can also follow movements of pets.
I am comtemplating between Tapo C225 and xiaomi C400. So far no comparison between this 2 models in depth. Wonder which has a better picture quality and sound in recording and on the 2 way communication speaker built in.
I'm also hesitant buying the Tapo C225 because Tapo has bad detections. Although, C225 has features for both indoor and outdoor. I'll see if i could buy C225 in the coming days.

The C300 has similar specs with that of Mi 2K Pro featured in this video. Expect more or less same result with the comparison in this video. Hence, i instead bought C400.

The detected surveillance video clips are stored on the cloud and requires subscription. However, you can still check those videos on SDcard/NAS recordings.

Why my 2k pro cannot record for 24 ours, but my C400 can record for 24 ours?
Check Settings->Manage Storage->SD Card Status->Recording Mode(it should be set at 'Always'

Nope. Official capacity support is 32GB but you can use up to 64GB only.

For detection and recording test, it would be great to record 24 hours, and then see did it record only humans or it did something else, like some lights from cars, or even using yourself flashlight on day or night. Or also trowing some object as a ball. The magnetic camera 2K that I have records any small differences on image, even some small light changes from windows and starts recording, so basically records 24 hours instead only on motion. Also is there setting to record only on human motion, because magnetic 2k camera records records humans motion and other motions, and it classified in that two categories but you no option to change what to record.
In my case i need camera for work, there is big glasses window and public road is very close, but camera is not point to the window but still it make lights differences when cars are passing by and start recording a video.
The camera has a person detection and motion detection functions.
Any motion from swinging branches of trees, birds flying infront of camera, lights from cars can be detected by the camera as motion.
And these are recorded 24/7 depending on your setting.
You can actually turn off the motion detection of other camera models. For Magnetic cam, you can't separately turn off motion detection. You have to turn off the Home Surveillance which also includes the person detection. I hope this helps.

Yes. The features are the same but Xiaomi cams has better AI than Tapo. Tapo has so many false detections.
Hi, really nice comparison. I just bought C400 yesterday, the Camera works fine but the speaker from the camera sounds very very tinny. I can't barely hear it from 2 meters away. Comparing to my phone loudspeaker is like only 20-30 percent of my phone maximum loudspeaker volume. Is it normal? Is there any way I could adjust the volume output from the camera? As this is my first xiaomi IP camera, kinda worry it's defective. I hope u would reply. Thanks in advance mate. Cheers from Indonesia
There's no way to adjust the volume of the speaker. So far, there's no really good audio output for Xiaomi cameras.Thanks

@@aditirta4884 It's not normal but it's bad for consumers. For example, Xiaomi claims that the sound of the speaker of their camera is good but in actual operation it's otherwise.
