What's the 44 Club you may ask? Well it all started in the outro of this video • HOW TO BOTTLE FLIP (ON... where we wondered if anyone was still watching the video at that point, and to comment 44 (Scott's fave number) if they were. Brett then said 44 Club get on board and the rest is history. The 44Club is the official How Ridiculous fan club made up of people who love our videos and watch them right to the very end. We've even got 44 Club merch now! So yeh, that's the story. Pretty random but good fun at the same time.

In the chloroplast are the thylakoids, which stack to form grana. The membranes of the thylakoids contain proteins (chlorophyll) which take energy from sunlight to break apart water molecules into protons, oxygen and electrons. The electrons pass down the electron transport chain in the membrane, causing the protons to be actively transported outside of the thylakoid into the matrix cytoplasm. The high constration protons causes protons to move back across the membrane through atp synthase channels, producing atp molecules. Then comes the light independent reactions, where a RUBP molecule is bound with CO2 via rubisco enzyme to form a 6 carbon compound, which splits into 2 3 carbon compounds. A couple of processes occur involving binding and release of atp, and you end up with 12 3 carbon molecules, 36 carbons in total, 6 of the carbons are formed into a glucose molecule, and the last 30 reform RUBP molecules, and the entire process can start again! This is kinda simplified and may contain a couple errors like the direction of movement through thylakoid membrane, but it's midnight and I cba to type it all out on my phone or double check my knowledge in my textbooks
Also you better freaking feature me lol, I finished my biology exams and hoped to forget it all but you forced me to remember gdammit I want reperations!!
Can I apply to Harvard now?
ZoeyM dayum I thought I knew how it worked but there a hole lot of things more

All that space to use and not a single paper airplane. Tsk. Tsk.
well, photosynthesis in the chloroplasts occurs by capturing a photon of light in the proteins inside the cell which react with the voltage differential in order to react water and carbon dioxide into glucose (with several stages)
I dunno where you could sneak another “how” in there, but I’ll be glad to explain that too
this is kind of a sketchy answer. true, photons are absorbed by pigments in the thylakoid membrane inside the chloroplasts, but it is handling that absorbed energy which allows the series of transmembrane proteins to gradually build up a proton concentration (more of a chemical potential than a voltage differential), which another transmembrane protein then uses to convert ADP back into ATP (let's not forget the very useful reduction potential of regenerating NADH and NADPH too). As for actually making glucose, that ATP generates is needed for the pathways that take CO2 from the atmosphere and indirectly bind it into the six-carbon sugar! voila
sam rusoff I was hoping someone else would post this.
#NEED_THIS_FOR_EXAMS
How does a chloroplast "capture" a photon?
That’s not true
The commentary from the editor on Gaunsen's rant was amazing
3:36 That was adorable!
Trevor Manning that shit is trash
Trevor, spamming other people's comment threads on other people's videos with your music is a perfect way to get it downvoted, trashed and generally shit on.
Even if it had actually been decent stuff, I would have been so annoyed by the spamming that I _still_ would have given it a thumb's down and closed the tab.
Stickie Dmin exactly lol
113m
According to Pythagoras’s formula:
Optus stadium is 42m high from that platform and the frisbee roughly went approximately 12-15m past the centre line. Half of the Optus stadium field measures 82.5m and they threw it approximately 10m before the goal line. To measure the range finders distance the hypotenuse needs to be calculated. 42m squared plus 105m squared is 113m squared. Thus 113m is hopefully the distance the range finder read.
O
Nerd
logan thompson no it’s basic math

I thumbsed up for the educational bit about photosynthesis.

OMG
I saw this comment when I was doing my spelling homework and I am on the word Photosynthesis!!!!!!!!!!!
dandymcgee As a chemical biologist I can tell you that we don’t know exactly. Some key things have been worked out but some details are not fully understood yet, though there are some possible theories
You Thumbsed up You ThumbSed Up I Thumbed Up
dandymcgee what are in Elementary school or something?
Oh wait that sounded creepy....sry
Get Mark Rober in there to figure out how to spin and throw the gym ball with a machine for epic magnus effect.
Mike Aninger I was literally thinking what machine I would build for consistency the entire time I was watching this lmao
He could also explain photosynthesis.
He's a douche
I love mark Rober!

This is the funniest comment i have read in a long time
I felt like I was going to fall off the edge watching them do this
same this makes me anxious xD
Glad I wasn't the only one getting the heebie jeebies.
Well it has to be between 115 meters and 82.5 meters (The official length of the field is 165 meters and i used the 50 lines for the estimate). BUT, that would be if you used the range finder from the ground. I'm assuming you used the range finder from the top. The height of the stadium is about 45 meters (like the tower, odd) so by using Pythagorean theorem, I found that the length of the frisbee throw would be about 110 meters.
Why tf did u go do all of that, just guess😂
enderjack i think 56 meters
MIchael Falzone -- highly doubt that
enderjack it is in fact 82.4
82.4 is the length of the half line and it went farther
Well... I came for some laughs and left with knowledge and questions about photosynthesis... 😂

Yep,
Plants create glucose through the Calvin cycle by combining NADPH created by light dependent reactions that utilize an electron transport chain, and organic carbon molecules found in the soil.
Rafael Cruz Jr. but how?
Gaunson’s rant at the end 😂
No, Gaunson's "Words of Wisdom" are what we need in these troubling times. Starting at 11:15, the oracle's lesson begins in this video.
this would've been insane for the giant dart
cole003f would have damaged the pitch
that was the downside but still still would've been a bigger challenge for the dart to top it
cole003f hey we both have an undertaker logo
cole003f AFL footy
These guys are really REALLY not afraid of heights 🤔
they have gone to a 165 m tall dam, what does the roof of a stadium matter to them
With all of those deadly spiders and snakes down under they’re fearless lol
The guy whose back got hit by the ball: I loved your pointless rant about photosynthesis that made absolutely no sense. Lmao
Ellie Lamphier Stanford
Loved that rant lolol
Yes, way cool 😎

I was waiting for Scott to say "turn the bell on." Last second clutch there 😂
I found Gaunson's rant on photosynthesis quite inspiring. As long as we have a how, we will have a why. As long as we have a why, we will have a reason and as long as we have a reason. We will have a purpose. Long live the cheeky how?!
But How far can you throw the camera?? 😂😂😂
Well, you guys always put in 110% into every video and obviously the 44 club is the best club so according to the law of thermodyn... wait, what was i thinking? Oh yeah, the frisbee went 154 metres.

Photosynthesis doesn’t turn sunlight into glucose... Sunlight provides the energy for the plant to convert carbon dioxide and water into glucose & oxygen.
You’re Not My Daaad! That still means that it is using sunlight and carbon dioxide to make glucose..... it's still one energy into another..... so technically his sloppy explanation was correct...... still not a science channel though so you probably shouldn't be splitting hairs.... especially if you're wrong
Let's get this straight, is sunlight a reactant or an energy used to create something else? Smartass. It doesn't use up the sunlight, therefore it is not a reactant, and is just an energy that is used. Oh, also you forgot a rather vital thing. Water.
LOL you didn't mention water either I wasn't aware we were just listing all the resources that photosynthesis needs to operate😂....also...by what reasoning, does a form of energy cease being a resource, just because "it can't be used up"??? (Which is incorrect btw)....the amount of energy the sun can emit before it inevitably burns out is FINITE, and can be measured..... triggered out of logic I see😱
And the photons the plant uses are then gone forever, then yes it absolutely "gets used up"
Can you actually read, or would you like me to repeat my first comment, where I mentioned water and Carbon dioxide being converted to glucose and oxygen? Also I am well aware that the sun's burnout is inevitable and it's energy is FINITE but let's think about the grand scheme, shall we? The sun's burnout will be in approximately 5 billion years, all that time, it will be emitting it's energy, so for our lives and millennia ahead of them, it's energy could be seen as infinite, especially seeing as when the sun burns out, it's taking earth with it.

Not gonna lie. I watched just for the accent.

The word that consistently comes to mind watching Derek throw a Frisbee: Casual
Im just curious how u get permission to do stuff like this lol
Dr.Pepper they have 2.6 million subscribers, it's good advertisement for the stadium
That Average Kayaker that makes sense never thought about it that way
Looks like it was a sponsored video for the stadium and the game coming up with Chelsea.

Was anyone else super scared they would fall off?

There’s no way I’d be able to properly throw anything off there because I’d be too paranoid about losing balance.

Why do they build stadiums into circles? What sport plays on a circular field?
Kohlton Miller cricket and Australian football... 2 of our biggest sports!
How Ridiculous Really? Interesting, guess it makes sense then.

Just want to say, love you guys and especially the random moments you all reference Scripture, way to be salt and light for Jesus in your channel! It's great that God is blessing your channel to grow as much as it is! Keep up the encouraging and fun atmosphere that you all have, it's very refreshing!
Joshua West best comment I’ve read! I totally agree! I think it’s amazing to see guys like this subtlety making references and being an excellent light to the world!
THIS! lol! Do they have any brothers??🙊🙈 all these lovely men are taken!
Hi Guys! Always enjoy your videos! I don't have a Instagram account so, I can't comment there but, I saw Scott had a baby not to long ago! Just wanted to say congratulations! Theodore is adorable! Enjoy him! God bless you! :)
Also, I love how you guys help Compassion International! I've been involved with them for a few years now and what they do is so wonderful for children and God! Sorry for the long comment. See you all in the next video!
Taylor Treasures hey! Thanks! 😊
No problem! :) Thank you for the reply! Hope to meet you guys someday!
Robert Horker obviously only just game tickets
Giant dart vs new stadium..
James Brownley your right
Might make a mess of the new playing surface haha
So, basically, Gaunson was like, “How? How? How did I do so badly?” at the end. Random guess, since I don’t see a pinned comment, 137 meters.
Nah mate I think 91.7
Nice Scott diving catch
Lisa Schechter that was Brett, Scott’s the light haired one
85.5 meters?
#44Club
Edit: If you ask me, Scott won the Most Amusing Attempts Award though.
The playing surface alone is 165 yards.
Stu West what in the world is yards?
Stu West In other words, my wild guess was way off the mark?
Lee Zhen Wei he is American
Scott won the #appreciatetheeffort

On de wae
Zorgey dude no one even remebers that meme seriously quit its not funny anymore its annoying
Everyone knows Aussies have big balls.
But to possess ten each is truly impressive.
Take a drink every time these boys say "Oh, heck."
“Didn’t leave anything out on the field.. that’s what coach would want” 😂😂 anyone else catch that? No pun intended
Alright, idk what you guys meant when you said how far did it go. Like from where you threw it? So including the vertical axis? Or just from the edge of the field on the ground. I am going to assume you meant the former, so here is my guess: *112 meters*
NNEERRRRRRDDDDD
Optus Stadium is definitely the best and most amazing stadium in the world (in my opinion)
