I feel ya brother. Lived in Oregon my whole life. Portland has really become a dump. I stopped going down town to the comedy clubs years ago after having to interact with scary drugged up entitled homeless wanting stuff like you owe them.
Bike sounds awesome, and looks like a blast cruising around the city. So sad to see this once awesome city brought to it's knees. Here is hoping for brighter days ahead for this beautiful state and city. Cheers from Florida!

Wow Portland used to be so beautiful! This is terrible! I’m so happy I moved! I will NEVER live in a Democrat run city again! I live in a red state now and love it! Safe, better weather and this type of crap is not tolerated! I’m sorry you’re going through that. I’d move if you can!

Every major US city is like this now. You should see what San Diego looks like. Makes Portland look nice. Many streets have people living out of their cars. Homeless are everywhere. LA is the worse with major tent cities taking up many freeway entrances and exits.
Funny how you can camp for free in the city, but it cost money out in the woods 🤔

It really is a shame what the leaders of Oregon and Portland are allowing to happen. My first time in Portland about 10 years ago I was amazed at how clean and nice the downtown was. I usually visit 2 times a year and was just there in July 2020. It was pretty heart breaking seeing how destroyed the downtown area is and all of the closed stores and restaurants. I guess the elected officials want Portland to be the next Detroit.
Central CA daily CB500X rider here. I feel your pain. I haven't clearly seen the sun in 2 months. Our air quality right here is under 200, but worse in other parts of the state. Hang in there and get ready for the mud slides.
Western Australia logging in here. Portland had always been on my bucket list to visit. I will never now go there & spend my tourist dollars because of Antifa & your mayor. Stamp them out & maybe ... Good luck fellow sled riders, you guy's look like having a bumpy road ahead. Stay Tight.
I'm glad to hear this as a Portlander. So tired of people coming here and adding to the mess. It sucks here. Rains all the time and Antifa are hiding behind every corner looking to club you for not being woke enough. ;-)

Like that bike, looking at the cb500x or the versys300 when is time to move on from the ls650, want to get some more range. CB500 maybe be an inch or 2 tall fro me but like the engine upgrade over the versus. Can the cb500 be lowered a bit?

I would advise to stay off the streets at night. It’s not too bad in the day time.

I've been taking lyft the last few days here and it's like driving through a thick dark fog. Especially at night.
Downtown is real poopy. Some areas around it have better foodcarts. Glad you're safe, I heard OC was around level 2 or 3. Great footage!

While I feel the jump from looting to wildfire is vast, Portland has been through so much lately, I shudder to think. All of this on top of bringing the plight of homelessness to the visual forefront in the Martin v Boise decision; it is all just devastating.

the air quality index here on the Oregon coast was 722 last Tuesday!! The worst in the entire country at that point I think..we have gotten all the smoke from inland at one time and it just piled up here. Luckily, the ocean air started blowing yesterday and now the index is betw. 30 and 40 on the coast. Lovely! All windows open, air is being pumped into the house like there is no tomorrow..hehe
btw, stay more indoors, if you can. Driving around on your bike is not so good for your health. Plus, you might want to change the air filter in your Honda afterwards, when this is all over.
Thanks for showing us whats going down in your city. very sad to see. I wont doubt anything you say you have witnessed is true, but as an aussie, I would ask that people remember and realize that fire can be started by lightening and that it can strike at anytime, not just in a storm. May the force be with you.

About 11 months. What’s crazy is I had 250 subs around mid January. My Honda gave me a good boost;)
@@OregonMotorcycle Cool...I have only been at this for about 3 months and have just over 100 and trying to focus on quality of my videos. Enjoying your adventures. I also considered the Honda but went with the Vstrom 650xt instead. Loving every minute of it.
Cool deal. I always recommend quantity over quality, especially when your starting out. When your starting out your main goal is followers and views. You can only get followers from views (for the most part) and you only get views from content over the first 24 hours. It’s like a light switch after 24 hours. Once you establish a base, slowly work on quality as time goes on. At the same time your work flow efficiency improves while your quality goes up. Depending on your content, people could give a rats ass about quality. Seriously. Don’t get me wrong, quality is great, but not necessary. I’ve grown this channel on an old GoPro, old iPhone, piece of junk computer using iMovie 🤣. I know someone who took out a loan on video equipment to start a channel.... He’s been at it twice as long and my channel has almost 4 times the subs and almost ten times the views. Focus on your content and remember to try and give something back to the viewer. There, I just gave you like 1/2 of my secrets😊

Love the channel, I found it a few months ago while researching the CB500X! I’m taking the Team Oregon Basic course two weeks from now in Clackamas! I cycle down to the waterfront frequently, and must have just missed you, as I also saw those two people giving aid to the homeless I would have said what’s up. I was born and raised 20 blocks from that s#ith0le industrial area you showed on the east side, I can tell you it is only slightly worse than when I was a kid, just more people. Portland’s population has grown significantly over the last decade, that includes not only wealthy people, or relocated people, but people without homes. I’m 31, grew up in Buckman, and I remember seeing lines of tents and people shooting heroin when I was a kid. I’m used to it all, it probably looks crazy to people who haven’t been down there before, but other than the graffiti (which I have always opposed) Portland is still Portland. Love the videos, I think my favorite part is knowing pretty much exactly where you are in every video after a min or two it just feels comfortable/local to me. I hope you keep your old idea going about not saying anything political (I’m specifically referencing the fires and protests, I don’t care if you call Portland a shithole lol)
Just wanted to add, I biked down to that spot under the OC\West Linn bridge on the west side for the first time on Friday to try to find the park on the north side to no avail. BUT, I did wander down to that fishing dock on the south side and I’m glad I found it, it’s really cool/secluded!
