Every person's anatomy is slightly different, and some individuals might have more prominent bone structures or muscle attachments that become more noticeable when the jaw moves.
Any inflammation or swelling in the area, possibly from an infection or other condition, could also cause a noticeable bulge.
The masseter muscle, one of the muscles that enable jaw movement, is located near the temporal bone. Overuse, often from grinding teeth or clenching the jaw, can lead to muscle hypertrophy (enlargement), which might be what you're noticing as a bulge.
