That male hooded merganser is a VERY handsome diving duck !! I have a special place in my heart for the all the diving ducks . Those little domed heads and lovely colors. Wowie 😍

On the punk hairdo issue, you're right, Cathy. Or at least, she is. His crest is smoother and more rounded, so it reminds me less of a punk rock hairdo. I have gotten permission to use footage other people shot of a female with ducklings on her back and of the nestlings jumping out of a box. (I couldn't foresee an opportunity to get such footage myself, so I borrowed it.) All that'll be in the movie I make about her.
