Lots of fun…the way you break the fill down into component parts makes it easy to learn, practice and remember. The fun is using the accents and ghosts to find the feel and then building the speed to make it so awesome. Another great viewing. Thank you as always. Peter
The fill is easy enough, it's the off-beat hi hat that's the culprit for me.. some lessons on that (how to keep left foot time) would be appreciated! Everything sounds so much better and more advanced with the hats holding it together.
Hey Mike, love that new blue gretsh kit. It looks like my vintage 60's japcrap Dixie, only sounds so much better lol. I'm interested in that metronome next to you with the big number display. What is it, and where could I find it? Thanks, and keep on doing good for the drumming community!
As with most of these, I’m able to perform the hands work at speed, but the kick drum eludes me. So difficult to strike two kicks that fast close together with a single kick drum. How do I get that fast?
For now, maybe. But just know this thing, at some point, would have been WAY too hard for everyone who watched this video. That’s why I have a website that actually teaches you how to grow, step by step. UA-cam is for inspiration and edutainment, Mikeslessons.com is for education and legitimate growth! Hope to work with you there one day 🍵🙏🍵🙏
I agree! Although most things (especially in music) may seem impossible, many times the solution can be just slowing them down. But if it's too hard to remember or to have patience or something else, I can totally relate (especially the patience issue is very real for me sometimes). But Mike's enthusiasm pushes me to try just a little bit more difficult things, and practise maybe one minute longer or smth, but it adds up in the long run! Have fun and enjoy the process! 🤩
@Chucktales Developping your left foot is a game changer, start practicing slowly with easy simple grooves then more and more complicated till you are able to play ANY pattern, any fill with any time signature, at any tempo, your left foot will become your metronome you will feel and hear clearly if it's clean or not, of course it takes one year or two to become comfortbale with the left foot or even longer depending on how much you practice during the week, if I can do it ANYONE can do it because my left foot was so awkward, I even thought I had a curse ! But I never gave up and it's really worth it's for lifetime 🙂
Another great sixteenth-note triplet one. That displacement at the beginning of the second beat + resolution at the end of the bar is everything.
Thanks for shouting out the Failure song, that's the first thing I thought of! Underrated band.
Dude, this one's sick, Mike!
Dang - at 110bpm that’s 🔥🔥🔥, love this as a long term project for me. I dig this kind of stuff. Thank you!
Fantastic that's my weekend taken care of .❤ It's raining here in Ireland anyway 😊
И о моих, завтра разберу
