With low pay and an authoritarian governor as extreme and prescriptive as DeSantis, is it any wonder there are 9000 teacher vacancies this year? Sadly I suspect there will be even more professional teachers leaving this state in the years ahead and I wouldn’t blame them for it.
See this is what worries me to the point where these kinds of people will eventually take full control of the White House and the government and we are powerless to stop it. I hope I’m wrong of course but I’m expecting the worst while hoping for the best.

“Complicated” is a great way to describe the issue. Classic Republican false flag that teachers are trying to teach kids to hate the United States. It’s just not true, the truth is difficult to understand, context is extremely important which teachers can still provide throughout this horrifically politicized issue.

Has a school child in the Florida public education system, I was taught by my teachers to hate america. Stop gaslighting me. I remember what I was there for, I remember what my public school teachers taught, and I remember the rude awakening when I got in the college at how many lies I was told. If you think teaching the fact that our founders wanted to abolish slavery is wrong, you must be pro-slavery.
Every school I've ever worked at had more than 50% of the teachers indoctrinating the students to hate America. Sometimes it is overt and sometimes it is subtle. I've seen teachers remove the American flag from their classrooms. I've heard the things they say about America. There is DEFINITELY hatred for America being taught in schools. If you deny that you are lying through your teeth.
Did you know that WWII Black veterans and descendants are STILL not allowed GI bill benefits? Can you imagine teaching WWII and GI Bill and not mentioning that 1 million Black veteran were excluded. The same person that supports erasing history and only shows the good side of history instead of talking about the negatives like “history always has 2 sides” and not letting the students aware of the other side of the story only makes it so much easier to indoctrinate our students. Teaching and learning about history is supposed to be factual but clearly Republicans is trying to physically erase the bad history and using misconceptions to deny the truth of historical facts which is sometime not pretty or hard to swallow but “THATS HISTORY”. The Republican is trying to establish a dictatorship of our education system just like the communist party of China indoctrinate our students in one perspective of the story. Make no mistake you can claim propaganda in my statement all you want but it’s silly that politicians would like to appeal to voters and try’s to rewrite history to appeal to their voters without considering how factual the curriculum is. Presenting both sides of the story gives the students a chance to debate on the topic and as a result present their own perspective to the story but unfortunately the Republican party in Florida has denied our students such opportunity and instead encourage government teach curriculum that’s neither factual nor accurate and suppresses the students ability to debate on those topic by presenting one side of the story as the only one that is true which is hypothetically untrue.
