I helped build that trail! Looks like it may have been rerouted in places. I didnt see the log rides or rock airplane turns we put in. Glad it got on youtube.
That’s awesome that you got to hit those trails one of the few times of the year that there’s grip! Usually it’s dry dry dry beach sand mixed with kitty litter and add some marbles in for good measure. That said, Corral and Armstrong are two of the funnest in the area for sure.
lol I've been riding the lower sections for a couple months, debating hitting the upper part this afternoon. It's late september and it's still bone dry up there.
I have ridden here many times, and have ridden all over. Used to write for Bike. YES, the Rim Trail, Hole-in-the-Ground and Tahoe generally is tied for #1 on my all-time favorite places to ride.
Still a super fun trail but it’s all burnt out now unfortunately from the Caldor fire. One benefit from it is we get to ride earlier in the year because it’s exposed so the s ow melts faster. But I’d rather have the trees back.
I used to work as the rental bike mechanic for Kirkwoods bike park and we would do after work shuttle rides on Corral and sometime we would add the Armstrong connector. By the end of summer I could tell you every line, every rock and ever divot on that trail. I even did an unintentional night ride without lights one night and got through it by memory.
I rode some trails around Lake Tahoe, near Homewood/Tahoma area, back in '95. The trails were epic then and now they look even better now, so rad. Thanks!
For sure! I should ride it more-I live in North Lake Tahoe and we have some super fun trails out the back here so sometimes the motivation to drive the hour south is lacking. TAMBA is amazing though, they do such a great job with all the trails in the Tahoe Basin! Glad you enjoyed your time out here. Cheers!
I’ll vouch for Trail Peek. They said exactly what I was thinking. That’s just a slice of what we have. If that made your top 3, they will help ya smash the top 10!
I've probably commented on this before, however, I'm wondering if this trail still ranks up in your top rides. I will say you rode it on the most perfect conditions. That trail tends to be a bit of a sandbox in the summer.
you can pedal up a road, or run a shuttle. just park or ride all the way to the gate. A must do. the local trail group "tamba" does endless work on these trails!!
So I'm guessing you liked those trails? That would be awesome to have a system like that here on the east coast.. I'm gonna need you to get on that asap.
That is my home trail. Never gets old. Tamba is the BEST!!!!!
Sarah Becker Lucky!!
I have trail envy
@sarah Becker know anyone willing to be a trail Guide this coming weekend June4-5???
Tahoe trails are awesome!!!
Thanks for the shout out to TAMBA. This system is just one of thier great efforts. The up over from Luther pass is classic!. Tahoe Rim Trails rule!
Just rode the trail yesterday. WOW!!! Thanks for the video so I can have fun over and over.
Thanks!

Beautiful ride dude!

Jeff Lenosky plus Randy and Rick from Trail Peek would be totally sick!!
I'm moving up to that area soon. Cant wait to explore. I'm a noobie to mtb though. Gotta start somewhere.
That looked like the greatest trail ever
Can’t wait to check these out this spring..all these years I’ve been going to Tahoe, and I’ve never brought a bike.
I guess I'll have to go see my brother in Tahoe this Spring. Way cleaner than our end of the state
I lived in Tahoma on the West Shore, used to ride this on a ridgid SS and it was so great
What an absolutely amazing trail! Wow.
timmaysmitty it really was amazing!
I rode some trails around Lake Tahoe, near Homewood/Tahoma area, back in '95. The trails were epic then and now they look even better now, so rad. Thanks!
I've ridden that trail too , and I agree. One of the top trails ever! Great video.
Yep, definitely one of my favorites in the area! The dirt here lately has been sooo good. Awesome riding!
Kyle Marmesh you're lucky you get to ride that on the regular
For sure! I should ride it more-I live in North Lake Tahoe and we have some super fun trails out the back here so sometimes the motivation to drive the hour south is lacking. Trail Peek I don’t have insta but would love to hear what else this area or near by has to offer...
Make it happen guys, as a viewer I'd love to see this!
I’ll vouch for Trail Peek. They said exactly what I was thinking. That’s just a slice of what we have. If that made your top 3, they will help ya smash the top 10!
bucket list getting out to tahoe!
Oh man. I definitely need to plan a trip to Tahoe!
Great interview on The Inside Line Podcast!
Do a winter park or trestle bike park vid. That place is friggin awesome too. I would love to ride this!
this trail has changed so much now after the Caldor fire. so so many trees are gone.
Nice trail and great riding
What a SICK trail
We have some nice trails on the East coast, such as the Kingdom Trails in VT
It’s really cool seeing this video now. Since this video was recorded a massive fire burned many of the trees along the way.
I've probably commented on this before, however, I'm wondering if this trail still ranks up in your top rides. I will say you rode it on the most perfect conditions. That trail tends to be a bit of a sandbox in the summer.
It was and still is one of my best rides ever but I know the weather was an anomaly
It's the best at the 1st snow melt in the spring.
captivating video
kofuzi thank you!
Did you get to ride Mr. Toads? Another amazing trail in the South Lake area.
MTB FlowRider no :-( too much snow.
We *do* need trails like that out east!
Go back and ride it now after the fire. It’s eerie
That was an awesome ride.
Tahoe is so epic!
Did you get a chance to try ride near Santa Cruz? Some good riding there as well.
Mateusz Plewicki not this trip but I have, it's awesome there!
It is indeed great, even more this time of the year when it is not bone dry anymore and we get to enjoy improved traction!
Where did you start your ride? which parking lot?
I would like it if everyone posting trail video posted what they and friends are riding.
Are you guys riding full suspension or hard backs? I'm moving up there and want to ride this trail. wondering what kind of bike would be best.
they are riding full suspension
That trail looked awesome!
I love corral I just did it today with my team and I did it on sunday
That was an awesome ride!
I imagine a tall cup of coffee is needed before you guys ride !
i miss u tahoe single track on a dirt bike n getting dirty looks from homies on mtb ;)
awesome, did you have to climb back to the top via road?
ethan edie we climbed to start so we got it out of the way
How bad was the climb?
Also where did you park?
ethan edie I’m not sure. I went with buddies. I’m sorry 😐
Great ride! I dig your videos dude. Subbed!
Budget friendly biking thanks!!!
Damn, looks awesome. Planning to ride this one when I get out there. Shuttle to the top, I assume? Where was the starting point?
you can pedal up a road, or run a shuttle. just park or ride all the way to the gate. A must do. the local trail group "tamba" does endless work on these trails!!
What bike do you ride? What gimbal and camera do you use? Your footage and audio are amazing. Thanks.
Oh, description says EVO SS. I get horrible motor noise from mine. Do you? Do you correct the audio somehow?
I run the Evo SS. It makes motor noise that's way more noticeable when I'm NOT riding. When it's actively working it's quieter.
Camera? I use a Hero 5 Session and it has horrible audio.
Brad Herder I have Garmin Virb Elite with a microphone cover!
How do you get to this trail
I forget, it's definitely on Trail Forks though
How do you get there ?
That was f*n sweet!
I want to go ride those trails!
damn that looks nice
Great video 'cept the rider talked waaayy too much. Wish he would keep quiet and not interrupt the visual and the actions.
Gonna nickname it the”Sram squabble”
lol
Heavenly 👍👍
So I'm guessing you liked those trails? That would be awesome to have a system like that here on the east coast.. I'm gonna need you to get on that asap.
On it!
Do you like 27.5 or 29er better
I honestly like them both, for shorter travel 29er is pretty sweet though
This route is even better if you go to Freel Pass via Star Lake.
7:00 Its ok to look g00ny when your behind the camera. ;)
yeeeeewww
thumbs up
Shhh, dont tell everybody!..
Wtf... Everything is better out west.
In thought New England was decent.... Arg.
