@@ummhey27 Chef Oab was the one selecting the applications.
While going through them he saw one familiar face, he remembered him (Plawan) from the past as he had ill-behaved in the restaurant. And also when he caught him secretly following him to get the ingredient list at the store.
So my guess is Oab just wants to teach him a lesson by making him work hard and realise how much effort it takes to be a chef.
That's why even in the preview of the next ep, Oab asks him to quit if he can't handle this.
We will get a clear idea in the 2nd ep based on how Oab is treating Plawan. As of now it's him just taunting and pressuring Plawan.

I haven't seen Pitbabe.... but have only seen few clippets of these 2.... both charecters were pretty serious one so seeing this is a complete 360° turn.... both Pon and Sailub seems to be really good actors( Sailub portraying the stern chef.... so different from t normal easy going charecter in pitbabe and Pon was a intense difficult one).... and comedy genre is really t most difficult I feel for actors as it is very easy to overact and become too slapstick.... so kudos to the actors and I almost forgot a huge compliment to the script writer and director for a very tight script and absolutely on point humor....not too over t top and contained.... eagerly waiting for next week
