Sir syllabus pg standard...in any competitive exam they won't mention any reference books and this exam not an University exam...... Just they provide detailed syllabus. As a pg holder or PhD we have to analyse the syllabus and prepare accordingly. But I agree with your point the evaluation of descriptive paper. The evaluation is unpredictable. It may vary one evaluator to another. And I am a beginner recently completed pg and net, preparing asst professor.
