- The 2024 federal budget failed to spark a much-needed rebound in the polls for Prime Minister Justin Trudeau’s trailing Liberal party, according to new Ipsos polling released Tuesday.
Ipsos polling conducted exclusively for Global News shows voters’ reactions to the 2024 federal budget mostly ranged from lacklustre to largely negative.
In addition, asked about how they’d vote if a federal election were held today, 43 per cent of respondents said they’d pick the Conservatives, while 24 per cent said they’d vote Liberal, followed by 19 per cent who’d lean NDP.

People compare whoever is going to replace Trudeau with John Turner & Kim Campbell but those two had to face Brian Mulroney and Jean Chrétien who had way lower negatives than Poilievre. A more adequate comparison of Justin Trudeau’s replacement is his father Pierre Trudeau who replaced Pearson and faced Robert Stanfield who was undefined which is better than Pierre with the high negatives. Pierre Trudeau beat Stanfield.

In addition to that, the Liberal party of JT (and Freeland, Fraser and Miller) is not the Liberal party of Jean Chretien and Paul Martin (which was socially left/center-left and fiscally center/responsible). The new libs are both socially and fiscally FAR-LEFT, and most Canadians are not FAR-LEFT. Although most Canadians have been seduced by the "colorful socks" (of JT), it has taken them 8 years to see the true color of the (new) Liberal party.

Most Canadian doctors receive no benefits such as sick time, paid vacation, stat holiday pay, etc. They save and invest for their retirement. The Liberals have royally screwed doctors big time by increasing capital gains taxes on their investments. How many doctors will decide to retire early over this endless taxation?

Because the debt was to high, and needed to be done, some times you just have to take the bill by the horns and do what is right, sometimes short term pain, is worth the long term gain, get the national debt down, and could you imagine the programs that Canada could have if we didn't have to pay just the interest on that debt, small mind thinking gets us no where.

I used the RRSP $60k program knowing it'll screw me over in the future to buy a house... but right now I live with my mother in law in the unit below me and I have 2 daughters... our household income if closer to $200k and I'm going to be buying a junker in Oshawa...
