It always lifts my spirits to see you sowing seeds Steve 😊 - really clear information given & you make us all feel like we can be successful 👍. Have a great week!
The thermal couple probs are what I make as well as the meters there are so many different probs some with elements some insulated others grounded then different wires , glad your back up and running and didn't lose to much plant wise . Keep safe Bill and val
Morning Steve, I'm really pleased you are doing a few companion beds this year. For those of us growing at home where space may be a factor it is ideal. I'm certainly looking forward to getting started. Thanks for another great video. 👍
Hi Steve, Greetings from Windermere, Florida zone 9b USA 🇺🇸 🌿☀️🌿 We are 43° F before Sunrise, but we are at the end of winter and it's time to get planting. Thanks for all of your great advice 👍
Ahhh the greenhouse is the best place to be this time of year!!! I’ve just sown hundreds of seeds in there. I upgraded my trays for containerwise ones after watching you last year. What a difference!!! Thanks Steve 🙏🏻
I think we should start a petition to save the shrub. That variegated plant always gives me a chuckle on your vids, gradually taking over and getting bigger.
Was looking through some of your old vlogs this morning while i waited on the rain to pass before i went to plot i haven't grown parsley from seed for a few years because of very poor germination and was going to have another go this year i liked your tip about watering with warm water to full the seeds into thinking it was summer so I've given it a try Thanks [Lawrence]
Hi Steve hope your well mate, your certainly marching on with the seed sowing, I think I best pull my finger out lol 😀 have a good week and stay safe David 👍👍
Yes, need it with all the midnight dashing to hospitals with the in laws and resultant areas across the family. The Garden is the area where you realize the persistence of life and drive to survive again and again and again. The storm may blow down the forest but it always comes back. We can all learn a lot from getting out and looking at the natural world and wonder at it every time the seedling pops its head out of the soil. Cheers Steve. Have an exceptional day.
Love it when more seeds are sown, means more to look forward to. I sowed my aubergines about 3 weeks ago and put them in the airing cupboard to germinate which has worked a treat although one seedling has produced 3 seed leaves as opposed to the normal 2, maybe it's a lucky one, we'll see 🤣😁🌱☀️
Aww, Steve, I'm sorry to hear about your lost plants. I do hope your chilis make it. I bet when you chop back that bush next to your greenhouse, there'll be so much more light in there. I'm waiting to plant my spring onion and carrots until I can plant them outdoors. I don't have room to get them going in the kitchen, especially with the other things I'm starting early. As always, thanks so much for an informative video. ☺️
Bummer about the propagator, always at the wrong time. I've got eggplants up too 😉, though we still have some snow on the ground. Just out of curiosity, I dumped the last of a packet of cauliflower into a seed tray on a heat mat and it looks like nearly all of them germinated! I hate throwing seedlings away so now I need to find some place for 50 cauliflower seedlings.... This seed packet was from 2010! I hate throwing seeds away too ;).
Hi Steve, it's my first growing season so I'm watching you closely I will be interested to see how you pot on the Brasicas and would like to know how your onions are doing that you sowed boxing day, cheers !
Thanks Derek, my onions are always slow staarters as I dont use lights, but they will get there in the end and it wont be long till I am potting on the brassicas...Steve...😃
@@GreenSideUp I just happened to be in the grow room sifting some multipurpose and setting up the second tier of my growroom shelf!!! I refreshed my sub list to see if anything was worth a watch and there you were 🤣👍
That looks like a Biogreen Thermo 1 or 2 thermostat, which worries me as I have two Thermo 2's, one controlling a heatmat and the other a multisocket with up to 5 variable temperature propagators plugged in. When my seeds start germinating indoors, T5 lights over them come on during Economy7 hours, start warming up (unlike LEDs) and they cut power to the mat/propagators. This acts as a bit of a failsafe in unheated greenhouse/tunnels should a propagator fail overnight. Was it the twin cable that broke close to the cylindrical plastic enclosed sensor? And are replacement sensors available? If not I might cable tie the end of the cable near the sensor to a curved piece of wire or something that will prevent it from flexing back and forth until it fails. If Biogreen don't supply replacements, Inkbird ones are available for £9.99, I also have one of those those thermostats so may have have a look at it.
Hi David, it is a thermo 2 and the plastic failed about 3/4 inch from the end sensor and one of the dual wires also broke. The other end of the wire is sealed with a grommet at the main box, unscrewing that I found it is not plugged but wired internally, I'll get onto bio green this week and see if I can get a replacement. I cant imagine it being too difficult a job to replace the wire and have a second working thermostat or a spare...Steve...😃
Hi Steve I’ve tried to contact you direct but for some reason UA-cam doesn’t want to play ball, so is it possible that you can give me your email address please either via bill and val or digwell just so I can contact you direct mate. Thank you David 👍

Hi Jo, yes to the greenhouse and containerwise trays!!...Steve...😃
It's not the sowing of seeds that is time consuming, but the pricking out. This also demands a lot more space. .............brian
I am fairly quick with the pricking out too Brian, I have loads of space at the plot but not much in the propagator...Steve...😃
I think we should start a petition to save the shrub. That variegated plant always gives me a chuckle on your vids, gradually taking over and getting bigger.

Hi Steve, great video on sowing seeds and advice too, thanks for sharing & take care 🙂
Good afternoon Christine, thanks for watching...Steve...😃
Great to see more seeds being sown there Steve 👍
Loads and loads to be sown yet Mark...Steve...😃
i think your chilies and eggplants will do fine, this is the time i sow mine here in west Norway
Lets hope so, thank you!...Steve...😃
I see you have also lost the little hook on your Davaon Loppers and like me resorted to an elastic band to keep them closed
Yes, whatever works Norman, great loppers but the hook could be better...Steve...😃
Thank you Steve, After that I want to get out in the garden far more and get sowing!
Nice one, get out there and get after it, it does you good...Steve...😃

2010!!!😁 I've done the same with some of my own chilli pepper seeds that I found from 2013, most of them have germinated too lol 😁🌱☀️
