Please click "Read more" for links and more information. Visit horizonhobby.cc/p47razorback for more information on the E-flite P-47 Razorback 1.2m. The E-flite P-47 Razorback 1.2m has been updated and upgraded to be the Smartest and easiest-to-fly scale model of the popular P-47 yet! The airframe is finished in a scheme based on a P-47 that flew with the 510th Squadron, 405th Fighter Group during World War II, and it features a variety of scale details, including molded-in panel lines, an optional-use drop tank and armament, a four-blade propeller and more. Plus, its functional flaps and retractable landing gear add to the scale flying experience. The 3S and 4S compatible power system includes an upgraded 70A Spektrum Avian Smart Lite ESC, and the BNF Basic version is equipped with an AR631 receiver to deliver real-time telemetry data along with AS3X and optional-use SAFE Select technologies. No glue is required for final assembly, so you can have it ready to fly in less time than it takes to charge a battery, plus it’s conveniently sized for storage and transport without disassembly - or the one-piece wing is easy to remove/install for even easier transport and storage. And it all adds up to deliver features, handling, and performance that make it an excellent choice for intermediate and first-time warbird to experienced pilots! See Jason's notes regarding why we made the choice to keep the same trim scheme in post #2 of the official thread on RCGroups.com ( www.rcgroups.com/forums/showthread.php?4364735-The-NEW-%28for-2023%29-E-flite-P-47-Razorback-1-2m ): "And the reason we kept the same trim scheme is because A) although some people didn't like/made fun of it, many (most?) people did actually like it and B) most importantly of all, over the last few years many factories have run into difficulties producing spare parts for models we no longer offer "complete" models of in the same scheme. In fact, the factory who produces this model has almost flat out refused to produce spare parts if we don't order complete airplanes in the same scheme for the last 1-2 years. So in hopes of continuing to better support those who bought the original version, we re-activated those spare parts to support those models and the new models we'll also sell now! It's not ideal nor our preference to not change the scheme, but we are continuing to work on improving the availability and longevity when it comes to supplying spare parts, even for models that have been discontinued due to poor sales (and yes, even this one suffered from poor sales the first time around due to the spike in interest for EDF versus warbird models ~3-5 years ago...though we've since seen a reversal in that interest over the last few years as more people realize they don't have the skills and/or a suitable field to fly many EDF models at while those fields and skills ARE well-suited to warbird models like this one!)."
You guys are absolutely awesome! I was happy to see the grass demonstration. That's a plane I will definitely be adding to my small hanger. I just had surgery for throat cancer and seeing this video encourages me to fight and recover so that I can get back to the field. The good Lord and Pittsburgh surgeons gave me more time here and Horizon Hobby supplies my toys
Aaannnnd there it is!! So awesome you guys brought this one back, thank you!! 🙏 Cannot wait to get my hands on one of these!! Finally, a P-47 I can fit in my car without having to pull it apart. 😁 Absolutely love this plane!!
My favorite of the 1.2m warbirds. I have the original one and it's upgraded to similar specs, but will be getting this one to make sure I have a spare plane.
I have a question. My buddy at our flying field has this exact model, fly's amazing. I see no mention of remote ID included in this plane. I thought all drones built after September 2022, are required to have drone ID implemented. Please explain this.
Only "full/complete" Ready-To-Fly (RTF) models that include everything needed to fly in one box (including a transmitter, battery AND charger) and weigh 250 grams or more produced after November of last year are required to include remote ID. We no longer offer any such "full/complete" RTF models that weigh 250 grams or more, and it will be up to users to determine if they need to install remote ID or fly in a FRIA without one when the corresponding rules go into effect this September. This model (as is the case for most of our models) is only produced/sold in a BNF Basic version that requires the user to supply a transmitter, battery and charger to operate it, and in a PNP version that requires the user to supply a transmitter, receiver, battery and charger to operate it. The user must also install a remote ID in both versions if they will not be flying in a FRIA (starting on September 16th, 2023).
I really wish they resurrected the P-39 as well. I had one but lost it to a loss of radio response. One could fly it confidentially on 4s by simply installing an Avian 70A ESC. I found the 1.2 m P-39 easy to land. Want a hard to fly P-39? Try the FMS 980 mm Cobra II. That one requires advanced flying skills to control it. As for the new releases. I have noted that they are simply ESC upgraded and color schemes but other than this the airframes are identical. Nothing really new and nothing that justifies buying the “new” version if one already has the older ones. Take the “new” P-51 Cripes and the June Nite and Blondie versions. The only new things the Cripes one have are the paint scheme and the Avian 70 ESC. Other than that the planes are identical in every other way, and if you have the older versions (and this includes the P-47), all you need to do is upgrade to Avian 70 and that’s it. Lots of money saved. What I would really like to see from HH are less critical parts on constant backorder and more parts readily available.
Will you bring back a plane like the Clipped Wing Cub? We need a basic cub for sport aerobatics, targeted at intermediate pilots! Would be great to see a cub again
PLEASE ~ A 1.2M MK-IX.... Such a great air frame. The MKXIV just never flew right imo....I still have 2 Parkzone Spitfires MK-IX that are my fastest war birds. Modded air cooling & cf spars & booms in the nose wall. They break 145pmh on the first few passes.
So what is the deal? Is this plane available or not? I preordered one, then my CC was compromised and cancelled so they emailed me about a different way to pay, and now I can't even find this plane on their website??
We are in the process of upgrading our systems this week as noted here: www.horizonhobby.com/system-upgrade-message.html This is currently a work in progress and everything should be back to normal on the web site in the next few days. has anyone else had problems with a horizon hobby order? they took my money including extra for fast shipping then ghosted me. i finally got ahold off there digital assistant and was told i cant cancel or get a refund of my shipping even though it still has not shipped. They are a big company and i expected more. anyone else feel this way?
Cool that you guys brought her back, but why this color scheme again? Whoever’s in charge of making the color schemes should be fired. I get that the color scheme is based off of a real color scheme, but that tornado looks like a turd, and there are many better color schemes out there for this plane.
Just be glad they didn't make it yellow and put NAVY on the side...I used the original model to learn how to fly tail draggers. I bought mine second hand, and sold it soon after I got the hang it, moved on to my TOWER HOBBIES Ryan. I have stopped buying foam for the most part now. However, I would buy the FMS 1700MM Thunderbolt if it came back.

Excellent job, guys! Love to see this one return! Missed-out on the original. Not gonna make that mistake this time! Long live the mighty Jug! 👍
