This is actually the 9417CW which is two line phone. The 9316CW is a single line phone. The two model numbers are often confused with each other, even when listed online for sale. Model numbers listed for this phone model are 9417 , M9417 , 9417CW, M9417CW This phone was made be Nortel (Northern Telecom) and branded under several different names, some of the names are Bell South, Nortel Networks, Aastra, Sprint, and Q West.
This is in fact a Nortel division. The other one may work in the PBX system. RLS means ‘hang up’, when I used the Nortel system at Work I used that a lot.
Ah, that iconic corporate office building ringtone. That's why I like the default old Panasanic ringer, it sounds the closest to one of these. Nice to see that it works with a standard phone line; I definitely would use this on my desk if I could find one. The first phone sounds like a problem with the mechanical relay not being able to snap to whatever position it needs to be in. It could probably be fixed or replaced. 6:21 that weird icon appeared after you pushed the Link button. Not sure what it is either. Ris does mean release, or I guess "Rii-Leez" in this case, and hangs up anything you might be using. I'm not too sure but I think those smaller gray buttons on the lower right column that aren't labeled are customizable, but I would wonder how to program them. At least those 16VAC are getting put to good use, speakerphone sounds great!
Xyspade I’m pretty sure the ‘link’ feature is meant to connect to other units on the server to intercom/voice call. Not sure why it’s called LINK though.
I believe the sound was coming out of the speaker, seems more like a capacitor issue to me.. The relays in there are just for connecting to the phone line, shouldn't have anything to do with the overall power of the unit.. The buttons on the right are able to be customized as far as I know it.. The speakerphone is quite good on this unit, I was impressed!
Hello, I just bought this phone, with no trouble. However, I do have a question, when installing the chords, should I keep the stand on? Or do I have to take the stand off install the cords, then put the stand back on? Thanks.
I’m happy u finally did an initial checkout on these phones but your also lucky u have the 2 line version and my screen is crap but mine has 1 and 2 lines in the back but not line 1 and 2 button on front
That phone has the quintessential office ring of the 90s/2000s. Reminds me of doctors offices or reception desks. Also for the confusion on if this is a Nortel phone or knockoff, it looks like Aastra purchased Nortel's Access Solution division that made phones in the early 2000s. Looks like Aastra continued to make Nortel branded phones after the purchase but also made Aastra branded or and unbranded models too. Aastra merged with Mitel in 2014, and still makes some models of the Aastra analog phone line
Excellent video of the Astra Telecom 9316CW Corded Business Speakerphone! I have another telephone that just came in today! It's another speakerphone! Just wanted you to know that I'm also getting a laptop soon as it comes in so that way I can connect all of these accounts to the laptop!
Use the orange button marked RLS to exit an option or feature. To access a feature, slide the dark grey panel covering the left side of the light to the right and press the button
To change the ringtones you slide that grey pice beside the red light to uncover the programming button and from there I don’t know how to operate that phone
Now that's what I meant by nortel as nortel makes there phones similar as those are the older and Analog phones but there is a company northern telecom as you said nortel is a big company as they have all these brands I could be wrong but that is a nortel phone but just older and I also have an Astra telecom that is those old vista phone and I did have one of those phones in the past as well and my nonna has a bunch of Astra telecom and northern telecom and those are the meridian phones

Xyspade Amazon sells them...just got one for my home office. $40
This Aastra handset review was very well-made. This telephone has a very professional sounding ringtone that I like very much.
Thanks for letting me know.

If there's a physical restriction, remove it.
