Love to see you playing the sequel of the game I grew up playing. This one is a great one as well, and arguably better than Spelunky HD. I got millionaire last because I was trying to get it on a Cosmic Ocean win, which I have 3 of now. I ended up dying on 7-78 because I was being rushed by my legal guardians, and I ended the run with 1,000,000+ money so I got the achievement even though I didn't win. It was disappointing but whatever. I got a few pictures of my first CO win, and I've also gotten 2 Celeritas CO clears: one which was only a speedrun, of one hour, 7 minutes, and 41 or 42 seconds. My second Celeritas clear was a hitless run until 7-54. I found this content very interesting.
Daaamn bro you're a god gamer if you finished the cosmic ocean!! Getting to the cosmic ocean is already difficult enough I can't imagine the patience required in order to actually beat it. Congrats on that I'm glad it wasn't a trophy required for the platinum lol I really enjoyed this game it was my first time playing any Spelunky game. I never heard of it until this year! Maybe one day they'll make a third one
@@Jay_CBI was originally hoping it was a trophy when I started this game but the devs didn’t actually think hardly anybody was gonna beat it I guess… they didn’t want to make the platinum take a month to get. Even if you don’t make it some sort of a challenge, you should see how far you can get into the cosmic ocean. Try for 7-20, then 7-30. 7-50 is a huge accomplishment, even if you have the ankh entering CO. All 3 of the CO wins I got, I entered the cosmic ocean with the ankh. The first win I got, I got cursed on 7-16 and died on 7-19 because I was cursed. There was a curse cat hidden behind one of the aesthetic tarps in the Temple themed Cosmic Ocean level, and by the time I was cursed, I had only just then realized “oh there was a cat there”. My third CO win, I ended up getting crushed (meaning I also lost my jetpack) on 7-98 after I popped the last orb. A crush trap from the top of the level, which I never got close enough to trigger (I actually never even entered the top of the level, the orb was in the bottom of the level), the crush trap crushed me. I then got super worried that I was about to lose on 7-98 so I played it super slow and super safe. Lost like 2 minutes because of that death but yeah, still 1 hour and 35 minutes. Second CO win, the 1 hour 7 minute one, I still had the ankh and the elixir at the end of it. I felt so good about that..🤣🤣🤣 A win of the Cosmic Ocean takes a lot of dedication. My 20th entry was my first win, and my 10th entry was to 7-78. I lost the ankh pre-CO in my 7-78. If I wasn’t being rushed that night I probably would have gotten my clear at that point, especially if I still had the ankh. One of my favorite spelunky UA-camrs, Ivyoary, got his first CO win on his 6th time getting into the CO, and he still had the ankh too. He has the CO world record of 37 minutes and 41 seconds. It’s definitely a worthy watch and his gameplay is insane. You should attempt CO and see how far you can make it. I’d say give it at least 10 attempts before giving up… and I mean really try in those attempts. You can get the corpse bag from the sun challenge cloned if you take the clone gun from 4-2 (tuns stars challenge prize), which will give you 96 bombs and 96 ropes. This will carry you through the CO with resources.
This was a really good video but man I felt those 2 moments in the sun challenge and qilin lasers. I've had those moments where I just kinda just look at the screen for a solid minute silently, heartbroken.

proud owner of the "The Full Spelunky" achievement, got it yesterday and I'll say the hardest achievement is "seen it all" the eggplant quest line is AIDS it took me 4 days of just endlessly resetting and then hoping that when I got the eggplant that I would be able to make it to the sunken city with no huge hiccups
Hahah yeah the Eggplant child is sooo rng. I didn't want that one to be my last trophy lol. I want to say I was lucky I wasn't even going for an eggplant run but I just so happened to see a present and alter and went for it. So I didn't grind that one out like most people. For me the no gold run was probably the hardest. I had a run where I picked up gold on 6-3 right next to the door. I was so pissed I couldn't use the clip lol
i've been on and off on this trophy ever since this game came out . still stuck on getting to the cosmic ocean and getting 100% journal completion 4 years later lol this video gives me some hope, maybe i'll get back to it
Do it!!! If you gotten all the other trophies then you have to finish the platinum! If you can get the speedrun trophy then you can definitely reach the cosmic ocean. If you have all the characters unlocked then you can finish the journal in an easy seed. I believe in you bro please come back one day and tell you finished this one🙏

Trust me dying a lot in this game really isn't something to be ashamed of, it USUALLY takes people like 50 hours and 1000 attempts to win once! 😅 One of the hardest platinums out there for sure

I gave up on zero gold after losing it to invisible gold a couple times in world 4 (coral covers it). Too frustrating for me. Have 100% otherwise as I love the game. Just wasn't fun for me to go for no gold anymore. Congrats on the plat, it's definitely a challenging one. Took me more than 80 hours to get the rest lol. Some of that was just messing around in the game though and trying to push CO levels (I think I got to 35 or something so nothing crazy).. I played it for fun with the trophies as fun side goals. Since you're a trophy hunter Spelunky 100% should be a cake walk for you if you ever feel up to it. I got my 100% in about 8 hours after beating Spelunky 2. The difficulty drop is massive. It doesn't have a plat sadly though even though it definitely deserves one.
Yeah bro the no gold trophy was as hard/harder than the speed run trophy. It's a lot of rng imo with gold being behind foliage. Making it to 35 on the cosmic ocean is freaking amazing!! Haha just getting there is already challenging. When I got there I just immediately died to the cosmic jellies. The reason I didn't go for Spelunky 1 first was because there's no platinum lol

No gold felt more frustrating to me because it requires an almost paranoid approach to the game and 'dying' because you touch one piece just felt worse than dying while rushing it. I think your first time in CO is always doomed, too much pressure. What a great feeling to get there though! And yeah it's bs Spelunky 1 doesn't have a plat when some really easy games do. It's got nothing on 2, but it's still a challenging list to clear.
I felt your pain and your joy! I have over 1200 hours in this game, trying to finish the cosmic ocean. 7-67 is my record. I know the true joy of getting to cosmic the first time!

There is also a mod where you can practice cosmic without playing through the whole game, but I'm doing it the true way... from 1-1 to 7-99..... one day it will happen :). But great video! @@Jay_CB duuude, you sould really give Hollow Knight a try! It has GREAT and really hard achivments, but also it's suuuch a great game! It's a tought but really fun and well done 2d platform game with alot of boss fights, you can upgrade your weapon (sword) and just try to find abilitis to get to the next area! One of the best games out there! 2 people made it and its just beautiful
Pretty good for a beginner, me personally the only hard part about cosmic ocean is just that you can accidentally do a bad mistake or it just takes too long
I also beat this game to platinum. it was cool to watch your emotions, because once upon a time I also experienced them and it was wonderful. By the way, there are many skips, for example, a skip that allows you not to spend ankh to get to a secret location with a kingu, or a skip to get ankh much faster without defeating an Olmec, and a skip that allows you to skip Ushabti.
Haha yeah this is definitely one of the hardest platinum ever! I think everyone who platinums this game has experienced the same emotions lmao. I knew about some of the skips but whenever I tried pulling them off I would die lol
I have never seen your videos before. I think this was recommended to me because my love of all things Spelunky. I have 700 hours into the series and loved it. So while I didn't learn anything here, I was really entertained and enjoyed this video and may check out more of your videos! I know this video is 10 months old so the suggestion I have may have already been addressed in future videos: give us some stats in a wrap up at the end. Spelunky has player stays so number of runs and deaths is already baked in. Go over that! Also, how many hours did you play, what are your overall thoughts, and are you truly done with the game forever or with your experience and skills in it, do you think you'll return from time to time? Again, I thoroughly enjoyed this and am excited to check out more of your videos!

Reaching the sunken city is no joke lol neo babylon is horrible to get through. Most of my runs would end there. Once you have the light arrow it's not that bad if you go slow and take your time through the sunken city. Hundun is really easy with the spike boots. Don't give up on this one bro you got this! You're already a god for attempting this platinum
I think getting to the tide pool level was my favorite. I like the vibe there. I liked the ice cave too because it's probably the easiest level. Getting to neo Babylon stressed me out lol

Yeah if I remember correctly I got like 200-300k before the palace. Used the phantom to turn everything in there to diamonds which brought me to like 900k or something then finishing the game gives you 100k so that's a million
Low% is the only one I have left. I have reached 6-3 4 times and I keep getting stunned into an Olmite that makes me collect gold Edit: i thought Speedlunky was for 8 minutes, not 10? Did i seriously waste my time on that?

The million isn't so hard to get just gotta get like 200-300k before getting to the palace of pleasure. The 0 gold one imo is really tough. Explosions that send gold flying everywhere always seem to attract to you. The speedrun is pretty difficult but it's nothing you can't handle!! You got this!!
I only ever went jungle once to get the black market trophy and never went that way again lol you would think there be a trophy for getting to duat but there wasn't 🤷♂️

The no gold trophy is definitely the hardest one!!! Millionaire you can rob the pleasure palace for like 700k so you would just need to focus on collecting 200k as you get 100k from beating the game
your doing alot of hard games wow. maybe you could do xeno crisis or metal slug XX both considered to be 9-10/10 in difficulty. doom 2 is another hard one people dont do to often

Do it!!! If you gotten all the other trophies then you have to finish the platinum! If you can get the speedrun trophy then you can definitely reach the cosmic ocean. If you have all the characters unlocked then you can finish the journal in an easy seed. I believe in you bro please come back one day and tell you finished this one🙏

I gave up on zero gold after losing it to invisible gold a couple times in world 4 (coral covers it). Too frustrating for me. Have 100% otherwise as I love the game. Just wasn't fun for me to go for no gold anymore. Congrats on the plat, it's definitely a challenging one. Took me more than 80 hours to get the rest lol. Some of that was just messing around in the game though and trying to push CO levels (I think I got to 35 or something so nothing crazy).. I played it for fun with the trophies as fun side goals.
Since you're a trophy hunter Spelunky 100% should be a cake walk for you if you ever feel up to it. I got my 100% in about 8 hours after beating Spelunky 2. The difficulty drop is massive. It doesn't have a plat sadly though even though it definitely deserves one.
Yeah bro the no gold trophy was as hard/harder than the speed run trophy. It's a lot of rng imo with gold being behind foliage. Making it to 35 on the cosmic ocean is freaking amazing!! Haha just getting there is already challenging. When I got there I just immediately died to the cosmic jellies. The reason I didn't go for Spelunky 1 first was because there's no platinum lol
@@Jay_CB For real. I really underestimated it. No gold felt more frustrating to me because it requires an almost paranoid approach to the game and 'dying' because you touch one piece just felt worse than dying while rushing it.
I think your first time in CO is always doomed, too much pressure. What a great feeling to get there though! And yeah it's bs Spelunky 1 doesn't have a plat when some really easy games do. It's got nothing on 2, but it's still a challenging list to clear.

There is also a mod where you can practice cosmic without playing through the whole game, but I'm doing it the true way... from 1-1 to 7-99..... one day it will happen :). But great video! It's a tought but really fun and well done 2d platform game with alot of boss fights, you can upgrade your weapon (sword) and just try to find abilitis to get to the next area! One of the best games out there! 2 people made it and its just beautiful

I also beat this game to platinum. it was cool to watch your emotions, because once upon a time I also experienced them and it was wonderful. By the way, there are many skips, for example, a skip that allows you not to spend ankh to get to a secret location with a kingu, or a skip to get ankh much faster without defeating an Olmec, and a skip that allows you to skip Ushabti.
Haha yeah this is definitely one of the hardest platinum ever! I think everyone who platinums this game has experienced the same emotions lmao. I knew about some of the skips but whenever I tried pulling them off I would die lol

I have never seen your videos before. I think this was recommended to me because my love of all things Spelunky. I have 700 hours into the series and loved it. So while I didn't learn anything here, I was really entertained and enjoyed this video and may check out more of your videos! I know this video is 10 months old so the suggestion I have may have already been addressed in future videos: give us some stats in a wrap up at the end. Spelunky has player stays so number of runs and deaths is already baked in. Go over that! Also, how many hours did you play, what are your overall thoughts, and are you truly done with the game forever or with your experience and skills in it, do you think you'll return from time to time?

Reaching the sunken city is no joke lol neo babylon is horrible to get through. Most of my runs would end there. Once you have the light arrow it's not that bad if you go slow and take your time through the sunken city. Hundun is really easy with the spike boots. Don't give up on this one bro you got this! You're already a god for attempting this platinum

Yeah if I remember correctly I got like 200-300k before the palace. Used the phantom to turn everything in there to diamonds which brought me to like 900k or something then finishing the game gives you 100k so that's a million

The million isn't so hard to get just gotta get like 200-300k before getting to the palace of pleasure. The 0 gold one imo is really tough. Explosions that send gold flying everywhere always seem to attract to you. The speedrun is pretty difficult but it's nothing you can't handle!! You got this!!

The no gold trophy is definitely the hardest one!!! Millionaire you can rob the pleasure palace for like 700k so you would just need to focus on collecting 200k as you get 100k from beating the game
