Really straight forward video. I’ll be using this video mainly to install my spec d headlights as well. Well done fam 👏🏻
Thanks for this, found it valuable for taking my own lights to bits/where the wires go. :)
Great job man
Good video
What bulb is for the bottom housing?
Are you able to fix the sequential light if it goes out on these headlights?
Would this fit on the sedan version of the car
My daytime running led strip connection disconnected from the little hole it was in how can i connect them back together again its too small too see anything and now my daytime running lights won’t work 😭
Have you or anyone that had these headlights had any issues with adjusting the angle of the lights? Mine on the spec d are so high. I've tried adjusting the little 8 or 10mm nut that's the adjuster and still not much improvement 🙃 the look great but I have way to many people flashing me bc they think I have high beams on😅 haha.
So does you g35 have the HID computer system? Because mines doesnt, thats the reason i cant use theses headlights
Are these direct fitment on 2007 G35 Coupe or would I need different bulbs? Ive heard a mixture of different things
do u have to remove bumpet
Dude thank you signed a chick w/ new lights & a 2004 g35 coupe 😂❤😅
My driver side ballast connector sticks out more than the passenger. I can send pics. Lmk if anyone can help
What website you got these from ?
Just a quick question on the website for the spec d headlights it says 2003-2007 does it still for the 2008 g35 x or no ?
I'm seeing on their website for the sedan headlights, it's only listed for 2005-2006, I'm guessing they wouldn't fit but maybe worth contacting them.
the lower set of lights, i always call it a fog light not sure on the exact term for it, its a h4 beam correct? h4 bulb and the uper bulb is a d2r
This is what I have noted: Low beam headlamp: HID-D2R. High beam/fog combo: 9003.
For anyone doing this you really ought to be replacing your main hid headlight bulbs as well. Your oem bulbs were d2r bulbs meant for a reflective housing. The spec D uses projectors so you really want a standard d2 bulb in there.
thanks! my oem lights dont work at all rn so what all do i need to replace?
So I got the drivers side out but I don’t have any slack and I can’t fit my hand to the bottom of the harness for the passenger side
does anyone know the e bulb this headlight needs one of my headlight busted but my led halo still works (turn signal)
Did you have trouble connecting the yellow wire on the top part of the headlight ? I recently got some and I am having trouble connecting the yellow wire to the top light bulb
Is that the spade connector? Mine fit well but maybe the female side of the connector could be opened up slightly with a flat head
Hey just a quick question, would these headlights work for the sedan version? I just bought a stock 2004 g35 and I want to make it look a bit sportier.
Nah, the headlights are different for sedan and coupe. But Spec D tuning makes some other headlights that are specific to the sedan
Hey i ordered these and got them all installed and everything works but the LED light bar, it doesn’t light up. the sequential blinker works and the running lights and high beam but all i’m missing is the light bar? Any help?
That referring to the sequential blinker but when it's supposed to be white instead or yellow/orange? May be defective, guess you could try giving it 12v directly
did you ever fix this problem? i ordered a new headlight bc i thought it was defective and led part still doesn’t work
Have you had any issues with moisture getting in or LED failure with those Headlights yet?
So far so good. We don't get a ton of rain out here, but it has seen one heavy storm and no sign of moisture. If I do see moisture I'll update the description and maybe a video on re-sealing them.
@@windows_down_ The reason is Spec D Tuning is not known for longevity in some of their Headlight units. Here in Florida, we get lots of rain, so it's a concern.
@@stealthg35infiniti94 Yeah, understandable. It seems some people add extra sealer before they even install them, maybe that's the way to go.
Hey just wondering if I could get a answer I may be having one of the same problems you have had with your wheel bearing before spending the money some of my issues consist of that thumping noise starting at 35 mph and leading to a little shaking and getting louder and shaking harder at higher speed like 45-55 mph but shaking drops off at higher speeds
Can you tell which corner of the car it's coming from? It's most likely a wheel, tire, or bearing. You could move the tires around or put on the spare to try to tell if that removes the problem - then you know it's the tire/wheel. If not, most likely it's a wheel bearing.
@@windows_down_ thank you for the response!!! I did rotate the tires to make sure it wasn’t a tire noise still stayed in the same spot and I had my auto teacher check my suspension components on the suspected side from where it was coming and the only thing he said was that my struts looked worn out but I don’t get how struts would explain for an on and off sound like the one I heard in your video and only in your video and could a wheel bearing be on and off and in videos it said wheel bearings if damaged would make a noise like a squeal and I’ve never heard that thank you
@@strech_ - hard to be 100% sure. But wheel bearings can fail multiple ways depending on what's happening to the bearing itself. That sounds most likely what's going on with your car, but it's difficult to say. Be careful driving it and some times its a good idea to have a professional mechanic check it out if you aren't certain
@@windows_down_ alright I believe it’s in the rear so I’ll just get a new bearing and get it replaced and I’ll go from there thank you for the information
hey bro, what type of bulbs did u use? did you only need 1 pair or 2 because the daytime running lights?
The OEM-sized bulbs, which is two pairs: Low beam headlamp: HID-D2R. High beam/fog combo 9003.
As I mentioned, the HID bulbs were some cheaper ones (not sure the brand) so I'm not sure if that's why they didn't fit perfectly or if the housing is to blame.
@@windows_down_ thank you, i just bought some H4 Halogen bulbs. Do i need another pair then?
@@jojj3544 I believe 9003 and h4 are interchangeable. But then you'd also need the hid ballast and bulb
@@windows_down_ what would i need to get the Daytime Running Lights working? this is my first time buying headlights and i’m kinda confused on how many bulbs i need to buy.
can I just buy new and better bulbs? if so where can I get some?
If light output is the problem then bulbs could potentially help. If you have HIDs: Amazon has a wide selection, but worth researching some well known/reliable brands.
@@windows_down_ I meant like for the aftermarket headlights. I dont wanna switch the oem bulbs to the aftermarket headlights. I want new bulbs and also got new ballast. but I will definitely take a look on Amazon! thanks
@@caest9989 Ahh gotcha. Yeah, I wasn't sure why my bulbs didn't fit perfectly in the Spec D housing, but I'm guessing it was supposed to fit the OEM bulb size. The nice thing about keeping the OEM ballast is that it mounts nicely to the headlight assembly, if you go aftermarket ballast you may have to mount it elsewhere.
I see you didn't seal the housings with silicone - have you had any issues with moisture getting into the lights? What's the aiming procedure that has to be done? Thanks
Luckily over last couple years I have had zero moist issues. But even the instructions say this is possible and to reseal them, so maybe I got lucky. There's a plastic screw for height adjustment
@@praisethelord8750 SoCal - I park outside exclusively. Lots of direct warm/hot sun.
@@windows_down_ oh okay, I live in NorCal and just ordered a pair last night. I’m hoping they stay good like yours
Ok
Bought some spec Ds but unfortunately crashed so one is a little bummy, who selling a driver side clear lol
I just bought the same spec d headlight for my g how it’s holding up and did any moister got inside?
So far so good, no moisture but there's not a ton of rain where I live. The clear film I put on has definitely saved me from some rock chips, video coming soon
@@joshsantos1035 - Sorry for the delay! I'm planning to upload within a week
Bruh my cord light has to be the most fuxking difficult thing to disconnect
You stormed through everything i couldnt slow the video down enough to understand everything you where doing -_-
Apologies Josh W. Just try to slowly disassemble it and keep track where the wiring went. You can do one headlight at a time too so you can reference the OEM one.
You are going to run into condensation problems
It's been a couple years and seen lots of rain, zero condensation. I'm sure it depends on the quality and luck of the set you get from spec D
You goofed man, the holes like up perfectly. You mounted the top bolt wrong, it’s supposed to go under the hole not over, that’s why yours aren’t lining up
