Great podcast! You guys mentioned using glucagon for exercise. I found that if I eat a banana 45 min prior to cardio (stationary bike), it raises my bs by 80mg/dl & keeps it there for about 90 min to 2 hours. Your mileage may vary, but it helps.

Heres an Idea: Transfer the Gvoke Glucagon into a generic reusable cartridge pen. You can then dial in units and have a dedicated glucagon pen (no vials or syringes). Seems you can buy cheap empty pens online. Thoughts?

Wow! That’s a great idea! You have to realize that this would be a totally off-label approach that would be not approved by the company or the FDA. One vial of glucagon that you buy only has 1 mg in it, so there are not too many units, so you might have to fill up a syringe partly using 3-4 vials. You’d have to make sure the vials are sterile and stable as well. There’s just not much volume to do 1 mg, that’s one issue, and you’d need to make sure there are no air bubbles also. Again, not an approved approach, but we like your creative, outside-the-box thinking!

@@TCOYDtv Yes, I'm aware that it's not approved. A creative approach. If conversion is 1 unit = 0.0347 mg, for 1mg of glucagon you get 28 units. Not bad ?

I'm not 100% sure. You should read the information that Gary Scheiner puts out. His organization Integrated Diabetes also does personal coaching for people with T1D if you would like to speak to someone directly about it. Thanks again for your comments and let us know how you do if you try it!
