Professor Ashton was the only doctor willing to do this. I read that the other doctors dumped all the benzo patients on her, as she was new, young, and female. She did a wonderful job! She is a blessing from God Himself. God bless her.

I couldn't help but cry when I watched this! The fact that it was a shorter video scared me at first, but you covered everything perfectly, and it was the best introduction to The Ashton Manuel that I believe could have been done! THANK YOU for listing the first thing about patients being the ones to decide when to begin tapering, and how fast to go, while the doctor plays the part of the support system! I can't wait to show this video to my doctor! He doesn't have the first clue about BWS or The Ashton Manuel, so this is wonderful!!! Just thank you a million times over!!!

I used the Ashton manual to taper off of Clonazepam by crossing over to equivalent dose of Valium then tapering at a rate I could handle. Luckily I found a doctor that would work with me and prescribe and kind of do it with me. It seems like forever ago now like it was all a bad dream. I've been off for 12 or 13 years now. Healing does occur! At first I was symptomatic a little but even that went away within the first year of being fully off of benzos. 👍😎

I used the Ashton Manual to shake a benzo addiction a couple of years ago. It's not easy, but neither is going cold turkey. I reduced the dose by about 3 to 5% every few weeks. I tried cold turkey at first and failed because it was so miserable (no sleep, couldn't eat,...) The whole process took about 18 months.

Thanks for all you're doing to help us! I hope you had a happy Christmas and New Year. 37 WEEKS OFF KLONOPIN (1/8/2018) and two days off Topamax. Though I tapered off Topamax very slowly, having the drug out of my body entirely has been quite uncomfortable. I'm managing. As always, nothing is completely horrible. I see where I was 9 months ago and where I am today. I'm sleeping a bit better than before: instead of sleeping in two hour chunks of time, I can sleep in three hour chunks of time - and that is amazing! Klonopin inhibits REM sleep, and I'm beginning to dream again! I'm very kind to my body, when I can't exercise, I don't. I always have good food around and nothing but healthy food choices. If I don't want bad drugs in my body, why would I want to poison it with junk food? I have UA-cam, and that has been my savior. Thanks again for all you have done for us.

VoteGreen if one good thing comes from my taper, it is my healthy diet. As soon as the bad withdrawal started, I got fanatic (in a good way) about everything I consume. I feel like I reacted to withdrawal like I would, had I been diagnosed with any disease. Which shows me I have the fight to get well. And I will. You will too.

ThisIs Slammin - I became vegan 6 years ago, but I believe that healthy eating has been PARAMOUNT to my recovery. Before the last weeks of withdrawing from Klonopin, I had up on potatoes, yams and cooked pots of red lentil chili in my Instant Pot. I didn't want any excuse for not being able to nourish my body and brain. Thanks for your kind words and encouragement.

Could hold down virtually no food. Actually the only water that I could drink without vomiting for whatever reason was Dasani. Finally went to another doctor and got on a different protocol. I knew it . I got prostatitis last summer and was prescribed ciprofloxacin floxin and had to go to the emergency room 4 times . I knew it was a interaction I could feel it , Iv been on 3 mg of clonazepam for about 9 years ( I know that's bad ) prescribed. I told 3 doctors including my gp , the psychiatrist at the ER even paramedics as to what I thought was happening and they all said no it in your head ext ext . Eventually after a cardio gram showerd a small heart change since I started taking the floxin they pulled me off if it and nearly instantly felt better .Turns out I have BPH which is inflammation of prostate that can be remedied with saw penento and just a simple diet change maybe the occasional regular strength ibuprofen every few weeks if that . The medical industry really needs a update , if benzo are the biggest problem in the world for addiction right now, then why is this very important information lost.. on not 1 or 2 but 3 or more doctors, plus front end and paramedics???
Thanks for the videos I'm going to taper wish me luck . Cheers.

What I would do is if I was taking let's say 1 mg or no let's say 2 mg, of alprazolam, if the withdrawal would hit me I would take anywhere from 0.5 to 1 mg, if it was two that I was taking, if it's only 1 mg I will take a 0.5 and it will level me out completely, even if I was taking a higher dosage, it's about the serum levels and about the Toleration of Stress and Anxiety naturally and also beta blockers work in between doses, it stops all the sweating all the anxiety pretty much makes you feel like you just took your dose, but when you do that you're letting more out of your system and going longer in between your taper dose❤❤

Heather Ashton has also says that cannabis is as addictive as narcotics: "Without their regular genuine 'fixes', [cannabis users] ended up suffering tremors, stomach pains, nausea, headaches and a range of other unpleasant side-effects. One of the reasons is the way cannabis is absorbed by the body. It isn't like alcohol, which can be sweated out within 24 hours. The narcotic effects of a single joint last 48 hours."

After Quaaludes were made illegal I figured that Benzos would follow suit..alas the practice of Anesthesia would stop that since Benzos work so very well to obliterate memory during amputations.
IV Ativan is also an excellent drug for calming people down from Stimulant caused Psychosis, or Hallucinogens @ even types of delirium.

Great video Jocelyn, although I disagree with Ashton's advice that the odd drink is ok. Having even the smallest amount not only sets most people back horrendously but some people, as in my case, get sent back into severe acute symptoms that can last months. Having even one drink could be the difference between life and death for some. I also took a sulfa antibiotic that sent my waves into a whole new long lasting level of hell! Anyways, thank you for making the video. Informative as always and hope you're doing well!

Scott Everson I completely agree with you on this. I personally don't think it's worth the risk. But I do know people who have been able to tolerate it here and there. Like everything else during this, it seems to be a crapshoot

Mike L 3 months on Ativan. Quit about a year ago. Was doing ok but a few drinks here and there did me in, including unintentional alcohol in my food. It's pretty much been getting worse month after month over the year.

People look at it like the bible which can be quite harmful. Living life as usual, not changing your diet, occasional alcohol, caffeine and so on are not a good recommendations for anyone. I believe Jocelyn is working on a new manual, thankfully, as it's very much needed. My Ativan dose was 1mg a few times a week and .5 a few times a week for 3 months. I took a pill every 5 days afterwards to keep my crazy withdrawal symptoms at bay. I also take Cymbalta 30mg which I've been on for 1.5 years. The withdrawal from benzos wasn't that bad until the occasional drink was introduced. That put me in full blown hell.

It seems impossible to get off clonezepam. 1 year ago my PDr. Perscribed me this med. It worked good for sleep but always felt too strong. Now im dependant. Took just 1 year and i cant function at work, home or just in life in general. This is only on .25- .5 mg doses. I just have never felt this terrible in my life. Cant sleep, depersonilazation, heightened sense of awarenes and worse anxiety. I hate the dr that perscribed them to me. Theres no hope...thats how i feel. And im a Former Navy Rescue Swimmer, Firefighter/EMT. Athlete.. Now i can barely do a walk for 30 min. This pill is poison to my mind. Im desperate.

Nate you can do this. 0.5 mg is equivalent to 10mg valium which is the largest dose of valium the pills come in. So that's no small amount. I have an entire playlist I made tapering. Please watch those videos. You'll learn all the best info available on how to successfully get off as painlessly as possible.

@@BenzoBrains why do we need ti switch clonazepam to valium or diazepam?

    • @BenzoBrains
      @BenzoBrains  5 років тому

@@morningwithgracie7870 you don't have to, but they're recommended as they have longer half lives which makes them easier to taper because they stay in your system longer which means you don't have so many ups and downs throughout the day
However if you watch my tapering videos you'll learn how to break up your dose of a shorter acting benzo and dose multiple times a day so you don't have to switch if you don't want to or can't.

I don't know how you can put this out. This is incredibly dangerous. You have no idea what other medications these patients are taking, what their medical histories are or how they will react. This is highly irresponsible.
