One of the things I love about Ceschi is every time I turn my back he evolves in a new and beautiful way without losing sight of himself. And manages to hold on to a hopeful vibe in spite of how nihilistic the subject matter is.
This song and video are bleak as hell, but the melody manages to make you feel like everything's gonna be alright. Amazing songwriting.

If Phil Ochs were alive, he'd call Ceschi Ramos, just to talk. Phil would call him up to talk about the passage of time, and this song, but by the end of the conversation, Ceschi would, somehow, be the one giving Phil a pep talk.
This song provides no succor. But it does mean we're still here. And people still have it in them to write songs and share them with the world. And we listeners have it within us to still be moved. That all of the stuff in this still bothers us may not feel like much, but when it stops bothering us to make art about it, is when real despair sets in.
This one lives comfortably next to Kate Tempest's "Europe is Lost" on any mix you might choose to make.

Dear Mr Ramos. I have advance notice that Villa Grove, CO will be hosting one of the country's largest country music festivals later this summer. You happen to have a fan who knows the owners of the one cafe/general store in Villa Grove, which does have a small stage in it as well, who would LOVE the idea of you coming across the mountains to play an acoustic set for a crowd that is the antithesis of kids with unruly haircuts.
The Sand Dunes and UFO observatory and other neat video locations are just down the road.
I just think the idea of people planning to see Dierks Bently or any of the other standard top 40 country hearing your acoustic as they eat breakfast, and realizing the rest of the day is downhill from that would be amazing.
I have the local connections to pull it off, so, if the idea entertains you.... ;)
