I know this is not from this week, but we are reading the Smart Cookie this week too.
Can I just say how great it is to see a REALISTIC week as a teacher. Not only do you show your teaching which is super helpful and inspiring, but you leave in those little moments that many other teachertubers edit out and make it seem like they have the perfect class or whatever. to see your bad days too is such a reminder that every day is never going to be perfect now matter how good our class is, it also just makes me feel a lot less alone and less guilty over those bad days.
Thank you - I appreciate this feedback! I remember in my old vlogs, I would never leave in those clips. I didn't see the purpose, and to be honest, it can feel embarrassing. But I think one day I just got over it and realized that the reason people watch is to see REAL life, and I want to be as true to that as I can. I have really great moments and not so pretty moments. Times where I am very proud and very NOT proud. But I hope sharing a little more of the messy side does make teachers out there feel less alone.
I love the kid that keeps talking about you going to Target. My students do the same thing to me. We are talking about neighborhoods and what we need and they all mentioned a target lol.

as a college freshman, i've recently come to the realization that being an elementary school teacher is my dream job! your videos have been helping me so much with feeling nervous and overwhelmed at the prospect! especially your videos about the hard days. from what i've gathered in reading about teaching and advice i've gotten from current teachers, it seems like a big part of being a teacher is deciding whether or not all the hard days are worth it, and you show so many of the "worth it" moments. thank you!
So much depends on where you end up at! The state, the district, the community, the school. There's a ton of factors that can really impact your life as a teacher outside of the major ones. Teaching is very rewarding but definitely surprising to a lot of people coming in for very good reasons!

I don't know what your district uses for grades/attendance/report cards etc but we use Infinite Campus and it's awful. I hate it! They had to send us a whole detailed tutorial on how to do report cards -- if it's so complicated it needs a tutorial then there's a problem in my opinion!

Missed your videos. Love when we get a little, but know it is a lot of work, so thanks for the time and effort put forth to share! My school district uses one place for grades, attendance, and student info. etc. At first, I could not navigate anything. Now, the search bar is my best friend, and I like it all in one place, so I can just jump on and search.
The student who kept saying “Target” is my idea of a perfect student!! 🤣 Sorry about Tuesday- some days are like that. TFS ☺️
i love hearing the kids pronouncing words ;.) as someone who doesnt plan on having kids watching teaching vlogs really warms my heart, these children learn so much so fast it amazes me, Id love to have a teaching job for this reason. thank you for doing what you do for those babies!!
