A different era, a different class of person, people seem to be more patience than they do now.

OMG I am australian and i rate david gower as one of england's best batsmen ever ... why? Lots of reasons: 1. I was in primary and high school when he was at the peak of his career so i saw quite a bit of him and this included 1985. 2. I batted left handed and loved being Gower in back yard tests and odis against my younger brother on our cricket ground on the farm in the 1980s. 3. Lots of other reasons. 4. He has such a melodious voice and I enjoy his commentary he knows the game and ....

The most stylish left handed batsman, a true gentleman, an interview throwing insight into his personal life, a very beautiful ce commentator 🙏

As an Aussie backer, I must admit that Gower will always be near to my heart. Form being temporary, Gower’s class has always endured in my eyes, and for me, that is the foundation of awesome, proper testing cricket

Brilliant player . Excitement machine when he burst onto the test scene . Always one of my favourite Poms.

Good to see that Gower has colour co-ordinated his entire outfit with his face.

Good questions from Barratt and good answers from a cool, intelligent guy. My girlfriend at the time had a thing about Gower and I can understand why - when I looked in the mirror I understood even more.

Sartorially stuck in 1974 but well worth listening to.

Wouldn't call him a genius. He belongs to the second category of really good test players - rather than great - including: Clive Lloyd, David Boon, Mark Waugh, etc.

He was a graceful and gifted batsman, maybe too laid back at Times when batting, got himself out a lot, but when in full flow he made it look so Easy

C'mon, a slack genius is still a genius. Think of James Hunt - F1 driver. One World Championship then time for a drink plus a screw!. Cheers 🥃 from Adelaide 👍

Was this really in 1983? Seems like may be this was in the 70s..

Hindi cinemas picture quality in the 90s was that of the 70s Hollywood. BBC looks fairly good for that time.

The interviewer mentioned that he was 26 years old, so it would have been 1983.
