This is why I’m going for being an engineer first then hopefully getting into the driver seat. If it doesn’t work out I’ll have engineering to fall back on
I really love stories of people like you and andy priaulx who you've also mentioned sometime. They show you can start from 0 and do amazing things. Also you're not just telling motivational stories but you're actually giving us practical advices. Once again a really good video enzo!
A lot of people have stories like yours about wanting to become a racing driver by going to a f1 race. But for me it was actually your videos. I wanted to be a racing driver before but I knew I couldn't afford but your videos taught me almost everything I need to know and thats what really hooked. My hopefully final question for you is, what can I do to stand out from the wealthier drivers who have been karting since the age of 8. I see drivers with alright pace and not lots of money but I don't understand how they get a seat in an expensive championship. A bit like Mahaveer Ragunathan in F2. Loved the video Enzo and when I go to get a seat in Fiestas I'm also going to ask if I cover all the social media aspects could they knock off a couple hundred pounds.
Literally the only ways to stand out are raw speed or of teams just like you and the owner wants to offer you a drive. The latter is rare in F2, you need money or serious speed for that series. I have only had one driver who didn’t need to pay much due to speed and that was Grosjean. DAMS have him a good offer in GP2. Just make sure you keep winning the small championships and keep talking to the teams above the current level.
Lol Enzo this video is retro from season 2 but there’s always fun and interesting stuff there, I think you missed a little step on the ladder of your development and that’s was karting and you went hardcore all the way to FF , still pretty good .
Without doubt karting would have helped me but I was so naive and detached from the motorsport world that I didn’t even realise that karting was a thing. So just had to learn quickly and on the go once I got into cars.
I got my first car at 19 years old but wasn’t racing until I was 20. With no karting reputation and no finance it was a pretty tall order to expect to get to F1. Not completely impossible but very unlikely. However if you are in the same position yet you make your way up to a serious professional category (Indycar, LMP1, Formula E, etc) then it is possible to switch over to F1. But you have to be super good

When you said that you couldn’t get to F1 because you were way too old. How old exactly were you?

@@EnzoMucci Alright thanks Enzo 👍
UA-cam deleted one of my comments Enzo . I'm sad freedom of speech is very important for me.
Oh yeah?!? That’s unlike UA-cam. What did you comment because I can’t even see it in my comments list?
