As a lifelong Husker fan, I LOVE what I see here and also what I hear about this kid's character. His heart and his ability to move the ball with his ARM and his legs are evident. I say offere the kid now, Coach Pelini, before someone else gets him. Looks like a winner!
I'm not sure he will contribute right away, but you have to love this guys effortless throwing motion and his toughness. Nebraska got a good one. Best of luck.
Real happy to be able to get a quarterback who sounds like he's a good kid and looks pretty tough at the high school level. Welcome to Lincoln Johnny, best of luck to you. And GBR!
Great stuff! I love his ability to scramble and keep his eyes downfield. Also seems like he makes good decisions -but then again this is highlight reel. Tough runner, deceptive speed. Come to Nebraska! GBR!
In the off case that Johnny Stanton is reading this. You are a beast, keep working hard, and always, above all else, remember, GO BIG RED! Again, GO BIG RED! Also, I will deliver a large bag full of money to make sure go make it to Lincoln, thanks.
Yes!!! Looking forward to watching him play at NU. Finally got a QB that can make all the throws and also has athleticism to buy time while keeping his eyes downfield for receivers. Just hope the coaches use him in a pro-style offense and take advantage of his arm and NOT in a spread/zone read/option style.
Come to Nebraska. We have receivers, backs and o-line. Redshirt a year to learn the system and continue to develop your passing game. Kind of looks like Rodgers at this point in his development. Good luck to you wherever you go.
Tommy Armstrong will have a headstart on him coming in. Hopefully either one of them will transfer out due to playing time. I don't see either of them being comfy as #2 or #3 for long. I'm lookng forward to seeing how both of them do and see how that positions battle goes. GBR!
paul bliz I've heard UCLA. The new coach will probably turn them around and look pretty good to a CA kid. Beating Nebraska this fall would be a huge step in that direction. UCLA has no excuse for not being top 5 every year.
If I blocked out his number and told you that was old film of Scott Frost you wouldn't know the difference. Same shot put throwing motion. Scott did pretty f'ing well as I recall. Word is he won't stand behind his commit to NU and will bolt to a PAC 12 school when they finally offer.
Scott Tolzien Jim sorgi brooks bollinger. 3 nfl qbs rite there. Who's the best Nebraska qb? Crouch? Yah you guys are just head and shoulders above us simple Wisconsin ppl.
so lets see Taylor is only a junior and we got RK3 ( Ron Kellogg III ) and Tommy Armstrong now Johnny Stanton well at least Nebraska has plenty of options to choose from after Taylor is done lol
Who cares where the qb came from. There's a reason tht Wilson was a good qb with nc state and a record setting qb with the badgers. The offense. The offense sets up the qb for tremendous success with a great running game and play action plays. Especially athletic qbs. At Wisconsin this kid cud be set up for a very successful career
I am hoping Nebraska can put together a national championship run in the coming years, however, its not going to happen unless Bo can manage to put two and two together. Nebraska is plagued by consistently lacking success on the opposite side of the ball nearly every season. If we are great on offense, our defense is just plain awful. If we are great on defense, our offense can't move the football. Its the same thing every year. If we can find a way to have success on both ends... look out.
He got drafted in the third round as a receiver. He wasn't an NFL quarterback. Compare Tolzien, Sorgi and Bollinger to Frazier Scott Frost and Eric Crouch. There is no comparison.
there is a huge excuse for not being top 5 actually. Nobody outside of nebraska wants to go here because they dont know the tradition and how awesome lincoln is..From a kid in texas or cali (where a ton of talent comes from) what sounds better Texas, USC...or Nebraska..just saying im a die hard husker fan but getting quality recruits is tough..GBR!!
Who turned out to be one of the biggest busts in draft history. That's like saying Wisconsin is better at developing running backs because Ron dayne won the heisman. Doesn't make sense
I laugh at you. Wilson was there by a Transfer and so is that QB from Maryland. And we all know he is bad. And Wisconsin has showed me that they can't develop QBs so they have to get transfers to fill their spots.
mission viejo, bellarmine, servite, mater dei, orange lutheran. wow, what an impressive lineup of teams the eagles played

I am glad the Huskers did not wait too long to offer this kid ... he is a winner!!!
Johnny Stanton has to be an important key for the Huskers! He can make all the throws! He knows when to pass & when to run! Strong arm an heady qb!
Can't forget about his character, leadership and work ethic also...just as important.
In the off case that Johnny Stanton is reading this. You are a beast, keep working hard, and always, above all else, remember, GO BIG RED! Again, GO BIG RED! Also, I will deliver a large bag full of money to make sure go make it to Lincoln, thanks.
Yup. Kid is going to be a star. Has the mental part of the game down that most kids don't have and he is very smart wants to be a doctor.
I hope you come up to Oregon! every Duck fan would love to see you in green on gameday!
Welcome aboard Johnny Tebow! Husker Nation already loves you!
Yes!!! Looking forward to watching him play at NU. Finally got a QB that can make all the throws and also has athleticism to buy time while keeping his eyes downfield for receivers. Just hope the coaches use him in a pro-style offense and take advantage of his arm and NOT in a spread/zone read/option style.
Wow! This kid is amazing, I just hope he gets a chance. Go browns
Come to Nebraska. We have receivers, backs and o-line. Redshirt a year to learn the system and continue to develop your passing game. Kind of looks like Rodgers at this point in his development. Good luck to you wherever you go.
YOU SIR WILL BE GREAT !!!!!!!!!!!!
Go Huskers!!!!!!!!! Nebraska would love to have ya!
I'm super excited that he committed to Nebraska, but i won't celebrate too much until he officially commits on signing day.
Tommy Armstrong will have a headstart on him coming in. Hopefully either one of them will transfer out due to playing time. I don't see either of them being comfy as #2 or #3 for long. I'm lookng forward to seeing how both of them do and see how that positions battle goes. GBR!
GBR!! haha I love the epic pro-scores music.
GBR!!! Welcome to the Husker family Mr. Stanton!!!!
Just scored his first pro touchdown. Beast.
How the heck is this kid only a 3-star on rivals? NU needs to hold onto this guy!
Welcome to the Husker Nation!!!! Go Big Red!!!!
He is N! he is going to be a good one
runs like tebow, looks like tebow!!! this kid is good! GBR!!!!
WOOOOO NEBRASKA HERE WE GO
haha they were in the NFL as professional backups. Crouch was a Heisman winner if Im not mistaking
Welcome to Husker Nation, Johnny! GBR!
Yesssssss!!!! Thats all u have to say to Tim Beck, GBR!!!
awesome be a great qb battle
AMAZING

true, but armstrong is a lot slower now... i don't know what happened, but he doesnt need to weigh 225 at qb, he just looked super slow out there
This guy is the future of nebraska.
i would hope wisconsin could get a pick 6 off of a high school quarterback...unfortunately they'll be playing him in college
Definitely is! GBR
Go Big Red!!
i can already see the pick 6's for the badgers
OMG NEBRASKA IS GONNA BE STACKED WITH TOMMY ARMSTRONG AND THIS KID AT QB HELL YES GBR
at 3:34 is that Max Refield that he levels?
Hello everybody .. meet Mr. Stanton
GOOOO BIIIIG REEED!!!!
GO BIG RED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Oregon offered, USC has their qb, who would he be waiting for?
hes going to lincoln! GBR
Hopefully he stays at Nebraska his senior year so we can win 4 straight National Championships instead of just 3
Scott Tolzien Jim sorgi brooks bollinger. 3 nfl qbs rite there. Who's the best Nebraska qb? Crouch? Yah you guys are just head and shoulders above us simple Wisconsin ppl.
to bad we lose kenny bell this next year he would have been a hell of a receiver with johnny
He reminds me of Scott Frost
You forgot a about Brion Carnes, who is Tommie Frazier's cousin.
so lets see Taylor is only a junior and we got RK3 ( Ron Kellogg III ) and Tommy Armstrong now Johnny Stanton well at least Nebraska has plenty of options to choose from after Taylor is done lol
Manziel, I present to you Johnny Championship.
After watching some tommy armstrong highlights makes this kid look like a turtle. He's heavy footed. More a tebow type.
He should go to a place were they can actually develop qbs and apparently Wisconsin can't
GBR!
There is no place like nebraska bud, GO BIG RED
Starting QB for UNLV
Damn, he reminds me of someone.......Tim something, or the other....I think he played for the Gators. Dude is just running over people.

This kid is a Tebow clone. Would be perfect in Oregon or Ohio State's offense.
when Martinez changes his throwing style they will be able to.
It's definitely not TMs fault
redshirt him next year..then start him as a redshirt freshman..sorry tommy, but if he gets hurt its all u tommy boy!
Tebow who?!
you stay classy Madison
Yeah but he can still heal it aand he'll be just as good.
He got drafted in the third round as a receiver. He wasn't an NFL quarterback. Compare Tolzien, Sorgi and Bollinger to Frazier Scott Frost and Eric Crouch. There is no comparison.
If Frost could throw.
GBR
Scott Frost 2.0
Obviously not with two transfers in a row.
why would u want one of them to transfer. we'll have more depth. if someone gets hurt we have a legit replacement
If he doesnt start over taylor next year. I'm shooting myself.
gbr
Oregon. Period.
there is a huge excuse for not being top 5 actually. I just hope he doesn't transfers
Who turned out to be one of the biggest busts in draft history. That's like saying Wisconsin is better at developing running backs because Ron dayne won the heisman. Doesn't make sense
He'd have the most success at Wisconsin. Nebraska Oregon state and Utah all suck. And he wudnt fit in oregons offense very well I think
Our recievers at nebraska can't catch for shit.
that would be nice but lets be realistic haha
Wisconsin can develop qbs. Whos nebraskas qb? Martinez has a worst throwing motion than tebow
I laugh at you. Wilson was there by a Transfer and so is that QB from Maryland. And we all know he is bad. And Wisconsin has showed me that they can't develop QBs so they have to get transfers to fill their spots.
yeah max redfield is very overrated
He has nowhere near the talent of Mike Nobler...
gbr
