  • After nearly a decade spent helping people build apps on Bubble…
Here’s what we’d do differently if we could go back.
Learning how to build and launch apps isn’t easy…
But knowing these things would have made it a whole lot simpler.

Very cool tips… let me add a couple if ok. 1. Create a Style Guide 2. Create a Testing Page, useful for trying out all sorts of things including plugins to how they work. 3. Create Template Pages with Reusable Elements and clone other pages from the Template. 😊

Thanks for this video, I’ve subscribed. What laptop would you suggest for developers? HP 17.3 Flagship HD & Business laptop is reasonably priced.

Great! So basically one should be an experienced app developper and project manager. Thanks for the advice.

I wouldn't personally expect anyone to come in with those skills. However, if you're serious about creating a sustainable, long term business with an app, those are certainly skills that should be developed alongside learning how to use a no code platform.

Awesome vid! I would add: knowing the various methods of passing data around your app outside of the database.
    - URL Parameters: Navigate to a page and send key:variable pairs where the variable is text. This could be a database things unique ID.
    - Custom States: A page can see custom states on elements it contains, which includes reusable elements, but they must be on the root of the reusable, not on elements within.

Do you think it’s possible to build a content creation app using bubble?

  • @navigatingsideways

I think that everyone who records a video and speaks well for at least a minute deserves a thumbs up. People don't realize how difficult it is and it's expensive and time sensitive unless you simply happen to have a well lit room (lighting) a microphone or tripod for your cell phone and information for people to search for... How to...... xyz. I saw a Bubble app before yours about Bubble, after looking at AAA marketing. I'm interested to see what you have to say. The AAA UA-camr said it's better to push a lot out rather than wanting perfection and getting less product out. Make it good, but your audience may not even like what you think is perfect. Interesting stuff. Hard to see a 21 college drop out making 10k per month, but he did start at age 17... nonetheless... LLM became popular and so he bacame popular.

Bubble killed off the indie developer with it's new pricing schedule

We haven't had any issues with their previous pricing structure change, but it just depends on what your goals are!

Same. I spent the past year all-in on Bubble, assuming there was no way they would ever do what they did with the pricing structure. I am sooooooo disappointed because I loved it and had finally felt that I really understood how to work well in it. But I just can’t continue. My husband was always queasy about not being able to take your work anywhere else, and now I’m kicking myself. So, I’m starting over with Flutterflow so that this can NEVER happen to me again. (If Flutterflow pulls a Bubble-like price explosion , there’s always Flutterflow, and Dart is a straightforward language.) I’m still watching this channel because their advice is so damn useful, and a lot of it is not Bubble-specific.

@@KathySierraVideo Yes - my experience is the same. Unfortunately those who are in the Bubble ecosphere and make money teaching etc have a vested interest in underplaying the 'Workload' pricing fiasco....but all I can suggest to anyone considering Bubble is first go to the users forum and read the kilometer-long posts on the new pricing structure and make sure you full understand how pricing is calculated before you invest considerable time learning and building on Bubble. Anyone reading this has heard my views, Kathy's story and now go read hundreds more from Indie developers before you commit. I agree with you Kathy, I will never build on a platform I cannot move a project from....that was such a mistake.

@@coachingnocodeapps WOW. So what is your view of all the community outcry regarding the recent pricing change based on workload units?

Can you expand on how the pricing changed? I've been using the starter $29, how much could i expect it to increase with more than 500 users?@@KathySierraVideo
