Very impressive. GoW as a series is not about being stylish, but about efficiency (being more similar to Ninja Gaiden in that respect), yet it's nonetheless great that even the very first game has a good combo system with lots of possibilities. Especially when accounting for the fact that you can use all your moves without having to select them from the pause/upgrade menu.
To be honest, i was fairly impressed. There were couple a combos which gave me some DMC vibes and i was surprised it harmonies pretty well. Your hard work payed off! You were creative with your tools, very diverse with your choices of your enemies and took care of smooth execution such as frequent juggles :) Now to my favorites; 1:07 (definitely love the side swap you did later on where you still hitted mid-air your enemy with the reverse hitbox near by the end) - 4:43 ( this was brilliant and a very brave environmental combo and with the spike to finish off the enemy nailed the combo! It also was by far my personal favorite combo of the whole video) - 5:51 ( the beginning really gave me inertial Rainstorm moments, pretty elegant how you have swapped the sides, with a nice follow up) Great video, your contribution brought up the game to a different light spot :)

Highly recommend watching at 1.25/1.2 speed anyways i'm redoing this idiot comment i've made a year ago. (the edited part now lol) in all fairness i've never been more impressed to watch a gow1 mad video in awhile. only a few god of war videos impress me as much as yours did. this took alot of effort and i'm proud to see god of war 1 get so much fame out of this. the way you showcased this games combat is great and honestly even some of the combos like the level 1 blades or that 1 environmental combo. honestly i am proud to watch this more than once. 0:44 :- i have a real tuff time liking challenge runners and their combat. even though they are more focused on strategy i very much would love to see a level 1 combo. and damn near did it however the blades still had other moves. though even so i'm glad to see even level 1 get some love 4:42 :- i've never seen many people actually do this before let alone myself (though they die so fast when you level them up or use magic.) however this was the more creative side of this game and its combat and i fucking adore it. 6:38 :- i generally liked this one. the first model swap mod being showcased and a great combo to show its worth? put a tear in my eye. i do overall love this combo for how it was crafted. and for the rest i generally loved how you handled everything while also using your moves & the tech added to even create this. this is 1 of my favorite god of war mads (if not the best) i've ever seen that will make me smile so fucking much. i'm glad i redid this comment.

Someone who actually understands the actual depth behind gow gameplay instead of abusing the stupid square square square triangle or knock enemy in air and repeatedly grapple them down pattern over, and over, and OVER!!! The majority of these players never use the roll mechanic effectively. It's not just for evading but can be used to quickly close the distance between enemies when you knock them away with a successful square perry or after you pull off the standard square combo allowing you to follow up with a triple triangle helm splitter or an x uppercut. You can even speed up your rolls by pressing square before the finishing frame rate allowing you to perform another roll in quick succession repeatedly ( You can do this in all traditional god of war games) as displayed in this video you can use helm splitter to airborne Minotaur's, Cerberus's and almost anything that isn't a cyclops or a boss and then juggle them in the air with level 3 Zeus lightning bolts and follow up with an uppercut to get few more aerial strikes in before killing them, cyclops's can be outmaneuvered with that roll framerate cancel I was talking about, they can be staggered with heavier square square triangle attack allowing for more aggression with either swifter lighter attacks or Poseidon's thunder, Poseidon thunder is of course good crowd control but if you know how to fight you won't even need it that much, Hades army at max while using the unlimited magic quirk you get from rage of the gods when chaos blades is maxed out essentially breaks the game which is why I respect how they made rage of the gods take as long as it does to build up and undead hades eats up a crap ton of magic normally making it harder to abuse, but there is practically no reason to ever use Medusa's gaze unless your using it's level 2 instant gaze or plan to use the multi freezing mechanism maxed out with rage of gods against the kratos clones, otherwise it's slow, takes a while to freeze larger enemies , leaves you vulnerable during group fights and higher upgrades for it depletes your magic instantly, Artemis blade is slower and has less offensive capabilities when compared to blades of chaos so it shouldn't be a sole replacement. One thing I really liked was the ai for some of the lesser non boss type enemies, Legionary Undead Captains(the advanced ones with scythes and swords) and Centaurs had ai that pressured you and had decent offensive maneuvers which made you balance your offensive and defensive, Saytrs worked the same way but could flip out of most any aerial attack short of a grab and so thus required a bit of that "dancing" with your opponent approach where you had to keep up with their constant acrobatics and find the right opening in order to capitalize with your offence and fell them, (unless you do that long tedious shit where you continuously keep grabbing them until they die ) but aside from that they had the best and most diverse attacks for commoner enemies in any traditional god of war game and were practically the "Gracious and Glorious" of God Of War 1 before they were nerfed in later games. I still wouldn't say it's up there with the DMC's or Bayonetta's but it's sure as hell a lot more engaging then seeing those repetitive spammy gameplay vids from other people even when they play on higher difficulties, and you could actually play the entire game with much aggressiveness and pull off the stuff that you see in this video. God OF War 1 had the best and fastest gameplay out of the other original god of war trilogies in my opinion with the only downfall being It doesn't have a punish or revenge system for all that spammy crap giving people no incentive to actually learn the game mechanics or understand enemy ai. God Of War 2 had better graphics, more bosses, and more locations but gameplay was hella slower and they removed certain mechanics making some of what you see in this video nigh impossible, additional weapons like hammer were slow and had no versatility, spear of destiny was an upgrade from blades of Artemis, but other then that everything was more sluggish and slowed compared to god of war 1. You can no longer use helm splitter to knock regular Minotaur's in the air and they can only be knocked up with triangle uppercut while the stronger variant of Minotaur Tormentors as well as the Cerberus's can't be knocked in the air at all anymore which lessened your aggressive options against them, aerial combat as a whole outside of just some flashy spammy swirly move sets you get for Blades of Athena is overall more limited. They also nerfed some of the more tactful enemy ai like the saytrs and undead legion captains. The saytrs can no longer flip out of aerial attacks meaning you can just spam them to oblivion with Blades Of Athena, they are slower, more predictable, and half of their attacks from God Of War 1 were either removed or relegated to the supposedly "stronger" Saytr Champions, legionary captains are also slower, don't attack you in groups anymore and are overall less aggressive even at higher difficulties. God Of War 3 had better gameplay, decent enemy ai and brought most of those mechanics back which worked with the weapon system but over focused on crowd fights thus encouraged a play style of spamming your wide range moves, abusing magic, or battering ramming your way through enemies, but I did like the Chimeras and how you had to be quick to avoid some of their unblockable attacks which made it absolutely necessary to use your rolls strategically and with precision. Minotaur's had decent design and ai true to their bull nature and the mechanics of your weapons allowed you to do some pretty neat stuff on them, but I absolutely hated the Centaurs in this game and how their only attack was to keep ramming you and forcing you into that stupid quick time event, saytrs still weren't as engaging or versatile as they were in gow 1, but I guess they were still challenging since they practically had super armor, block perry and a wall jump throw gimmick that screwed you over if you fought recklessly, that grab minigame was still super abusable against them though. God Of War Ascensions despite having no additional weapons other then the blades of chaos made up for it with some of the insane aggressive stuff you could pull of with the rage meter and extra moves you got from those elemental attributes, magic that time around only served as a temporary advantage boost as you couldn't spam it to the extent you could in other gow games thus prompting you to experiment with and maximize on your more melee options, Ascensions is my second favorite next to gow1 only being held down by some of the glitches it had at the time, but the handheld versions had the most inferior gameplay and I never went back to those.
