Considering the film had the same budget as the latest (at the time) game in the series had, 10 million USD, I don't know exactly what was going through the heads of the guys at Fox when they thought "Yeah, let's make a sci-fi actioner for 10 mil, and release it a month before Star Wars Episode I!" Gad.

I too always thought back to the Rapier, the ship of the most beauty and just high rank you'd earned with its smoothness, to the "ship" we saw in the movie and was disgusted. What the hell?!
