I’ve only used people’s net and eroad. I’m not familiar with that particular system but you should of changed duty status to “on duty” when you hit the entrance. If your company allows, you can switch to “yard move” that counts as on duty and won’t kick the log automatically to drive when you go over 5mph. You can be on duty but not driving past your 8 without a break and past your 14. People are suggesting you go pc to make it, in that scenario, that’s a violation if your logs audited. You can pc from the shipper/receiver if you run out of time and have to find a safe spot to park.
Should've extended your driving time, using inclement weather option on your ELD and it would've given you an additional 2 hours of driving time to get to your destination!!....DOT and your company don't check weather reports to see if its true in that area on that date and time, because they BOTH don't care!!..... They only care whether your either good to operate legally or if your in violation mode on your ELD!!.....BTW been operating LargeCars for 30 years, and 23 of those as an O/O so I know WTF Im talking about!!....I now run US mail at night, making great Federal Rate$$ and sleep in my own bed at home everyday, I don't miss road driving at ALL!!....But still have empathy for you younger guys trying to pay your dues and dealing with conditions I no longer have any tolerance for!!....Good Luck!!

My elog would always go retroactive from whenever I stopped moving, even if I forgot to log as on-duty non-driving until after it was in violation. That was a nice feature to have
When ur in actual violation the triangle top right corner will turn red and the QC will actually say ur name then it’ll say is in service violation. If it didn’t do that ur good. Those are just warnings ⚠️’s warning u of a violation. And the other is a service time warning.

Electronic logs are annoying, my company just switched to a different system and it regularly does not log the drivers off duty after the drivers clearly punched in OFF DUTY. So the next trip that driver takes out he comes in and finds that he never got a reset. Lol technology is sooooo great.
matthew moore we had that problem when certain eld’s didn’t have a sleep timer after powering off the truck. They have a delay to update the server and if shut down immediately after the duty status change, the server never gets it. Easy fix though, log edit, “correct duty status”

I had that problem also, sometimes when I come from off duty leaving truck, when I came back on duty and immediately turned on truck without giving electronic log (people net) time to display screen, it would have me be on duty not driving ,
I have stopped with 0000 on my clock only a few times. But when I do I immediately go on duty and I split my pre trip so I have a little more time and I say post trip and finding parking and logs doesn’t have a issue. I also do not drive vans so I don’t deal with what you deal with.

Other states will soon follow this model. It’s bad enough drivers don’t want ELDs, it’s even worse that drivers are buying trucks that very soon won’t be allowed to register. That’s a much bigger problem. I suspect if Trump gets re-elected states will enact environmental registration laws regarding older trucks, since the current administration doesn’t favor stricter emission standards.

Every now and then, things happen out of your control especially at shippers and receivers. I am very detailed on planning but once in a while, people screw it up and even plan B as well. We do have the option of personal conveyance so I don't see the big deal anymore.
Work for a reputable good paying company that will maintain their equipment, have a dedicated route, no worries...You must have a clean driving record, and good driving habits first...1,000,000 miles OTR coast to coast, all provinces of Canada, never had any violations.

No company will charge you for that. If he is involved in an accident, regardless of fault, the truck driver, driving with an HOS violation will be considered at fault. He could be fined by the DOT or state trooper if he is inspected in the next 2 weeks and they pull his logs.
I have to use PC every day at my current employer, since we don't park our tractors at the distribution center. But I just use it bobtail to get the tractor from the parking area to the DC and vice versa at the end of the day. I'm not technically on duty either time, so it's kosher
Yeah listen to the GPS. That makes it easier for a stearing wheels holder to get lost . Be a real trucker and learn to read a map and learn how to call the shipper and receiver and get directions. The reason why automatics were made so that any idiot can drive

If your company didn't wait until the last possible moment to make the switch, they could have gotten issues like that fixed before the mandated time.

Wasn't enough time to do a rest break. Had to arrive and deliver at that time along with 50 other trucks which were scheduled at the same time.
