I even had a Frozen Turkey Bungy Corded behind me at Thanksgiving time break loose and pass me at a stop light in Carlsbad !!! Some MOFO stole it when I moved to the Sierras to grow Bud....Highway Patrol found it 4 yrs later....destroyed but still running ! Sitting here at 62... I WANT ANOTHER ONE RIGHT NOW !! SUCH A FUN BIKE !!!!
The spot light always seems to be focused on the larger bikes, but machines like the enduro 250 transitioned lots of kids from mini bikes to the streets.
Two friends bought new 250s within a few hours after a wheelie contest one ended up without a rear fender..fun memories..Yamaha should re-release these great machines

had a blue one like this loved that bike.this one is beautiful.your right i did wreck mine twisted it all up.frony hub was cracked didnt know it until the wheel went crazy and the bike was history anyway you guys gets some nice stuff.
This was the second new bike I owned, in those days. Very comfortable, good handling, good brakes. Mild in power delivery. Friend of mine had a TS185 Suzuki and used to out-accelerate me. This bike shared the same frame and ancillaries with the DT400.
Really ts185 will out run this dt250? I have ts185 frame now i want build that if that is case i just bought a dt250 1975 dosen't run tank has some rust needs coating then it should run
@@johnwhite192 The DT250 handled well, good brakes, plush ride...........but was mild mannered compared to the TS185. It was a hooligan . Rev like crazy. ! For this reason I sold it in short order. Never bought the DT400 though. It shared a lot with the DT250, frame included. Engine internals were different.
So ts250 frame is same as dt250 frame? Thats really interesting i have ts185 frame and I just bought a dt250 complete bike so i might keep the ts185 frame for backup if its the same? I might have the title to ts185 so that would be awesome if they are same and if i have title might be switching it all around lol thanks
I had that very bike...same year, same color.....had many bikes before, many after...that DT250 was my all time favorite!! But it did ruin a few light colored jackets...the oil from the exhaust would swirl up and deposit little black specks on the back of your shirt or jacket.!

I hate a parked car doing 50 miles an hour I welled up in a wheelchair for two years I could not walk I was lucky I was alive.
If anyone bought this and wants to sell, has another, or knows of this exact model somewhere I’d be keen, This was the first bike I got used when I was 16 in Australia, I shoulda bloody bought this, mine was this colour and all, I’m now 45 😔🇦🇺👍🍻🍻
steve dental it's sold at auction for $5,000 to a collector who appreciates the fact that this is an extremely rare find an all original low miles virgin 40 year old motorcycle it happens to be an antique... anybody can buy a new bike for $5,000 and in 10 years it'll be worth $1,500, once they become in Antiques and extremely rare in this condition they actually go up in value every year I believe that's why people purchased these instead of a brand new bike

I used to catch massive air off dirt jumps on that exact bike when I was 16 years old. I also drove it to school every day.
I had one of those in when I was about 20. Had so much fun riding it on trails and just getting around town. Absolutely loved it. Wonderful bike.
Had a yellow 79. Rode the hell out of it. These bikes are bulletproof. Whoever gets this can ride forever.

Had a 76 DT 250, at 12 yrs old. this was a beast and jumped extremely well. Tons of memories on that bike. Mine was an ugly green color though.. 😂
