Thanks for the overview. I do wonder if Boros Energy manages to maintain such a high win percentage even through much more games being played if we won't eventually see a card banned from the archetype. If so it will probably be a while before it happens, though, with MH III still being so new. Burn might be the main beneficiary if it happens.
Burn was at 46% win rate. Rough right now for it. It’s still early and think there are ways to adapt. Jeskai energy control in historic seems strong and gets better tools in timeless. Suncleanser has been a great mirror breaker. Rakdos bombardment is another deck that is a rough matchup in historic that can port over nicely to timeless in a scam shell
I have like 5 beans piles, 3 dimir 1mvguyf/frog piles. Trying to deckbuild vs energy since its the most popular atm. After the challenge i'll mess around with some jeskai builds w/ helix, phlage, and tamiyo ive seen. There is also like a bunch of sorin stuff I wanna try. Lots to do.
@MTGJoe gotcha gotcha. Ive only really run in it in bo1 and that was pre MH3. So idk how the meta has changed. My list is ALL in on the combo, so it can be fragile. Ill probably test out what you have goin on in bo3 to see how it plays.
Can you remove the "show missing cards" things for next time? Nice video, although I don't think it's necessary to go 1 by 1 with the sideboard cards, especially the hate artifacts that see play across multiple decks.
I’ll see about the show missing cards, may be a UI thing that exists until I own them. For SB I try to have a balance of highlighting matchups or reasons but not go full board SB guide. I would often get questions of why X or y card
Are you in a situation where you have enough WC to craft minus 4 mythics? Do you own any of these cards already? Just helps. Ajani is key id say and leaning to ragavan tbh
@@MTGJoe yeah i can craft all mythics except for 4, i need 4 rags, ocelot, ajani, i was leaning towards not crafting ocelet or rag, or a 2 split of them, idk what to replace with though
@RyanHerrmann-kx1xd ocelot is very good and snowballs hard. It’s also big I. Historic so you get double value where ragavan is not playable there. Imo ragavan is terrible into the mirror and that seems like the most popular deck. You can do the 2/2 split for now. Could play more bolts main or play some tech cards main. Had an opponent have mainboard end the festivities and wreck me. Also don’t hate jolt awake as a 1 of value reanimate
Thanks MTG Joe for discussing the meta game consistently. I’ve been trying to find a source for awhile. You are great!

@@MTGJoe Thanks for the information. 46% indeed seems quite rough.
whoever coded this game is a genius!

Going to be trying jeskai piles next as I think they could be a good energy counter

thanks for these!
Is thoughtsieze better for snt than Borne upon a wind? Borne has won me so many games. Does thoughsieze really help get there that frequently?
borne can help into mirrors and bowmasters for sure. Not 100% as I dont have much reps with the deck

It seems weird for elementals to only have 3 fury and solitude. We sure that’s legit?
Going off the stats of the decks being played, not my deck. I can see 4x being better vs energy meta

what 4 mythic* wildcards would you swap in the lurrus boros energy deck until i can get 4 more?

Ravagan is just getting worse and worse, imo
Make tainted pact great again!! :( (or unban it in Historic thats fine too)
My left click button on the mouse can’t handle it
11:42 this gets tutored by fierce empath to kill the 3 mana make all nonbasic lands into islands
Would something like Kogala not just be better. Makes sense though didn’t think of the merfolk moon
@@MTGJoe Kogla costing triple green, is likely why it doesn't run that instead.
@@MTGJoethe 6-drop Disenchant and Generous Ent are also there for Fierce Empath.
Ya I know the disenchant but ent seems odd as a sb card and not just main given it can effectively be a land
No bans!!!! Lol
