One correction is the show is from 2013, the name of the show is "legend 1997" which refers to the year that Sumetal was born.
Like others have said, not from 1997...it was 2013 and was Su's 16th Birthday (she was born in 1997) so the actual concert name was "LEGEND "1997" SU-METAL Seitansai". This was Babymetals First Solo Arena Live Performance!!
Cant wait to see how he reacts to "We Love Sweets" by Hanabie!!
Thanks again Joel and as always...
Put your Kitusne UP!!
Yep, every time I hear "We Love Sweets" I think of "Give Me Chocolate"😋. 🦊 🖖❤
Glad you chose Live Performance.🍫🍫🍫
I appreciate you used a video with the live sound instead of the MV with the album mix. Not terribly different, but the sound of the instruments have more edge to them, imo. Before anyone says it, I know the instrument part is on a backtrack for this performance, but I still like it better.
I always enjoy your Babymetal reacts. I don't think your guest liked it too much. I watched the Legend MM 2024 performance of Give me chocolate and it had subtitles and Chocolate is in the song quite a bit. Your guest mentioned he didn't here the word chocolate at all. But Choco means chocolate. But Babymetal isn't for everyone. Nice to see you doing some Babymetal again.
Nice one, glad to see you introduce Babymetal to others!
🤘🦊
Nice reaction. At a recent show Moa was holding a chocolate bar during this song. I couldn't tell just what it was though. Su was surprises to see it. And maybe surprised it made it that far. Fun times on stage with Babymetal during their shows as always.
As a Swede the chocolate taste to this song is salty licorice with raspberry.
If this concert was from 1997 then Su-metal would be 43 this year...
Well they say "chokoretto" instead of chocolate.
My comments keep disappearing... 😭
Not 1997
Live video: OK.
Welcome to youtube hell!! Its why I pretty much have stopped posting (I let Grington deal with it now, but it happens to him all the time also...LoL!!)
@@watcher2554 I believe I know what I did wrong this time: writing a name. Some youtubers blacklist their name to avoid certain bot scam (which btw is an error and it's used by other scam bots to track them).
Man this concert is old as hell lol. But better late than never, i guess
The concert may be old, but it is probably Babymetal's most important show prior to them gaining true international acclaim (apart from the meme that was taken from this concert). As such, the concert is iconic to Babymetal fans, and it will never truly get 'old' to them. Nor should it.
Not that old!! LoL!! Joel misspoke when he said it was from 1997..the concert name is Legend 1997 and it was to celebrate Su-metal's 16th Birthday (born in 1997) but this is actually from the concert on Dec. 21, 2013..so only about 11 years ago.
Hope that helps and as always....
Put your Kitsune UP!!
They did sing chocolate, but in Japanese that becomes cho-ko-re-to, and you could hear that many times in the song. If you are used to Japanese you learn how to hear borrowed words. Japanese can only speak in simple syllables, so they say "hotto kohi" when they mean "hot coffee" and "Ma-ca-do-na-ru" when they mean MacDonalds. Also they say "ijsu creamu" when talking about "ice cream".
Thank you for a great explanation.
Are you sure its from 1997 ?
1997 Su was newborn and Yui and Moa were not even conceived.
He misspoke. I say misspoke because he said the same thing when he first reacted to this song and everyone corrected him and he acknowledged it in his next babymetal reaction...but its been a long time so he has just forgotten. This, of corse, was Su-metals 16th birthday show as she was born in 1997...concert was Dec. 21, 2013.
Put your Kitsune UP!!
When you said your friend was a confectionery maker I thought Hanabie as well.
We Love Sweets!!!
Bold choice for a non metal person. Hanabie 😅👌👍
Joel, you need to make notes before doing these reactions. They said Chocolate at least a dozen times
They sang "chokoreeto", which is easy to miss if you're not familiar with the Japanese way of saying "chocolate".
The voice over does say "Give me chocolate" at the beginning though.
@@rickwagner- Hi, Rick. I've heard Chocolate many languages over the years and they all sound pretty much the same. Plus this guys is a chocolate "honcho'", he should recognize the word in multiple language.
