I've ran diesel equipment through deep water before. As long as you can keep your air intake sealed and take your fan belt off , you are fine. If you don't somehow disable your fan , it can destroy itself and the radiator as well. However it is hell on the seals and bearings.
The placard on the front reads 1993. That number represents deisle or heating oil. My take on this it the company may have made a decision to have the driver take the truck to higher ground if possible. The damage to the truck would cost less than a potential environment disaster involved a loaded tanker. That's just my take.
That driver was running out of hours on his 70, 11 and 14 hour driving rule! He had to make it to a safe haven to shut down for his 10 hour break or risk getting a ticket...lol...Drive on driver, drive on!
Guy in the boat @ 0:16....... "I cant believe what i'm seeing!" Meantime, he's cruizin' up and down the highway in a boat...lol. And dont that trucker know thats a "no wake" zone??
A FRIEND OF MINE DID THAT YEARS AGO AND THE STARTER SHORTED AND TRIED TO ENGAGE. ENDED UP TEARING ALL THE TEETH OFF THE FLYWHEEL. ONLY COST $8000 TO FIX THAT.
A bad winter is harder on a rig then this was. As long as he didn't suck water in past the air filters the truck is fine. And he obviously didn't suck water in the intake lol. She just got a nice undercarriage bath 😎👍🏻
The title says The cajun navy seeing tractor trailer to higher ground. What it should say is "Tractor Trailer didnt need the cajun navy to see shit this big rigs got it." Its not like they guided the truck or lead the way for them. They just happen to be there at the same time.
I gotta say that was a risky move without snorkels or at the very least the side mounted "air cleaners" to bring the intake a little further above the water, but he is a legend for making it through.
I am just watching this semi truck driver in this high ass water, but I don't think that I personally would not be driving through this water, very dangerous for the driver and others.
Semi trucks are built for power and torque and not designed by idiots that think putting the air intact at the bottom of the engine is a good idea. Not to forget everything on a semi is built higher off the ground so it can handle situations like that better.
Probably had a full trailor. Thats the only way I can think of that made it not float, and push the back of the semi cab down hard enough to get the required traction.
Evidence that the engineers that designed this wall should be building levees around New Orleans.. My flooded house is about 400 yards from this spot. Thanks Louisiana DOT
So i guess that you have no problem paying for the repairs if not the replacement costs of the truck, trailer, and the load itself all out of your own pocket? Not to mention loosing a customer? All because that driver was an idiot?
from a person who deals with truckers all fucking day yes , they will do some crazy times (14h days) and some crazy shit to get to where they need to be on time lol - im in chilliwack b.c canada and from the fraser valley it takes 12 hrs to get to alberta, and then another 8/9 back cause your empty
@Mr Sunshines did you not read the title? Its flooding and hes getting to higher ground. So leave the truck ? Who knows what was in that tanker. It's worth getting it out in case something worse happens. That truck is fine and he did a great job getting it out safely
@@brandonharris9237 why didn't he take the outside lane like the orange truck did? That road wasn't flooded. Taking a detour is better than accidentally dumping toxins into the water.
when you gotta take a mean shit. aint nothing gonna stopya
uc95nu51 😂😂😂
LMFAO I know right
uc95nu51 or just shit in the water, could also work.
uc95nu51 LOL YOU CAUGHT THAT DUDE LOL
For the people living there it was a terrible flood. For that truck driver, it was Tuesday.

Life, and work doesn't stop, just because the road is flooded. I've done the same thing, many times.
1:46 The orange truck passed and thinking what the hell is he doing in the boat lane.

U hit it on the head buddy.
Now this makes sense.
Probably right
Hmm! I can't believe that these drives today would risk their lives by driving through water this high.
@@marksmith6447 it's ok if the water is still it's only dangerous if it's moving never get into moving water
They call them king of the roads for a reason.

dennis ternent thanks for the comment
dennis ternent good information to share to others
dennis ternent if he payed 8000 dollars for a flywheel and starter replacement he's got a really low iq
dennis ternent he destroyed that truck in the aftermath electrical .
How much would it cost to fix that caps lock key?
east bound and down loaded up and truckin!
The boys are thirsty in Atlanta and there’s beer in Texarkana
very good advertisement for this truck brand
Mpho Chabalala looks like international prostar
The driver was running out of hours, blame it on the ELD.😅😅😅😅
My favorite part was the truck driving the same direction on the other side of the wall in the background lmao
Cajun Navy You guys are the Best !
I drove semi trucks for over 30 years. I would never drive one in that deep of water .
WOW!!🔥
The maker of that truck should upload this video on their website...Then watch how their trucks sales increase.🔥

Plot twist: he fell asleep at the wheel
Amazing job driver!!!
The driver wasn’t observing the No Wake Zone.
Amazing work, but why didn't he just drive on the other side of the road?
That's just crazy!! No load worth driving thru flooded roads lime that.
I think he used the wrong ramp and just had to get out
Hazardous chemicals, worth than truck repair is the environmental consequences

How did the motor didn't die with so much water?
Hmm! If I was the owner of this tractor, this driver would've been looking for another job after seeing this.
he prob got the green light to go through it
mark you are bitch
If the boat went first he could follow the wake would it have been half of the water in front of him. ?

Don't risk your life like that my man
Now that's a good way to wash the tires.
I am very suprised that truck lasted that long. Normally it would flood the engine
Paul lale The air intake is above the motor, and likely a cowl induction hood. So sucking in water wasn't an issue.
That engine in on life support
Holy shit..I can't believe he made it
When in doubt throttle out HAMMER DOWN🤘🏼
Mil a plauso al que lo firmo y al operador . 👏
