Great video and information to dispel the misinformation out there. I've been keeping snakes for 47 years, just getting into keeping a couple of Beauty Rat snakes, a male Thai Beauty and a female Blue Beauty. Not intending to breed them, no room. Really appreciate your common sense videos. Gonna get down to San Diego Reptile show soon.
Dave , you could keep and breed earth worms and there would still be haterz. Love the vids, if I was in the States I would defo be a customer. Keep up the good work !!!
There really aren't any haters out there of this species, it is more a case of a very small amount of keepers making this out to be a vicious creature. Clearly it is not. My animals get a very uneventful, out of cage experience while others reinforce in their captives that a hook going in will soon be a frantic out of cage experience where animals will become unhinged because that is how they interpret surviving the interaction. For most, this animal is still new to the hobby. While I am a humble person, like it or not, I would still call myself an authority on this species. I am not here to police the internet(would be tough to do with my very small audience), but I put the information out there and people can judge for themselves. My audience knows better but there are other audiences elsewhere that have only seen the chaos and I think that is unfair to the species.
I'm not calling anyone an a-hole, it isn't that serious. Reptile people are always pushing for "education" and.I posted 13 minutes of it. That is all :)
what do you mean by "tail" your snake ? Like restrict it's movement of grabing by the neck ? My Siplotes when first pull out can be a little agresive but will chill out and hang no prob with me. My Coralus Annulatus is more of a pain.
I know this is a 2 year old message but if you watch a lot of herpers grab wild caught by the tail and manipulate the body by tongs while generally free handling the tail for safety. Grabbing their tail will stimulate movement. He has better handling results by refraining from touching the tail and trying only to body handle. Hope this helps, take care.
Very informational. I've been looking into different Ptyas species. So far I love P. carinata. How much do you think you'd be selling the neonates for once you successfully produce them?
I am definitely guilty of neglecting my website but my availability doesn't last long enough to post it compared to the other social media platforms. At the moment I have very little surplus.
Ours all currently reside in our Malaysia facility but I am not going to have my employees pair them because it can be a little tricky....so we are waiting for borders to open so I can do it myself and teach them.
I think you're definitely going to make a massive contribution to the snake hobby. First cb babies are going to be sweet. Keep up the great work Dan.
I've started falling in love with this species. They're just awesome.

may i ask how long do they get?
W.O.W.

Are you still breeding ptyas carinatus?

@@DMExotics sounds good, would be awesome to get one in the future when it happens!
So, do the males get bigger than the females? That's unusual in the snake world, isn't it?
Yes, backwards from the stuff you see a ton of...Boas, Ball Pythons, Retics, etc. Crossing over into the world of odd balls....seems pretty standard.
I brought it for 200dollars in China
nice video I am first like and comment
