Thank you Mr. Edwards for standing up for our residential communities. You and the City Council have stood behind Fife Community at least three times & denied re-zoning of property in our community that would allow warehouses. You, sir, stood behind our community & helped us fight the "Stink Plant" that actually ended up taking the health of many and the life of a friend & neighbor. You were very instrumental in seeing that the company's license to operate in our community was not renewed. We will not forget. You, Sir, have my vote & my husband's vote for re-election. I have neighbors that will also be casting their votes for you.
Taint gonna do any good to talk to Union City. That's why South Fulton Parkway was built. To be an industrial area like Fulton Industrial. Plus the city (Union City) not only has zoned all of that area industrial, the actually *OWN* a large percentage of the land. Along with Majestic Airport Properties in which they possibly are connected. Its a lost cause to try and tell them what they can and can't do with their own land. Instead, why not actually enforce the 18 wheeler laws on our OWN streets?
Come to Buffington Road. We are surrounded by warehouses in College Park and Union city. They are widening the road so trucks can ride through our neighborhood.
Election season or not. Warehouses do NOT belong in or near neighborhoods. East Point is desperate and has failing zoning laws. I am more concerned about bringing more jobs and businesses to our city. We need a city center, we need lights on roads, we need a city sanitation service, we have Alpharetta money off Enon, Butner, Fairview rd....but we have no food spots. All wings... nothing healthy. We need a Mayor that knows how to lure businesses here. With over 105k people and another 15k to be added thru annexing Fulton Industrial to Hollowell....as we grow we need to figure out what our city culture will be?....we have so much land and opportunity...we also have stimulus from the Federal Gov. What are we doing with it..... Why do so many addresses still say Atlanta. Fix it. People need to stop lowering property value to save on taxes as well. It's not good. But with a growing city such as SOFU, we have to be sure the growth is inclusive for all citizens... We need to decorate our city with Statues and historical things as we are 98 percent Black and have killed ALL stereo types about Blacks and how we live. We have a change to create lasting change. The time is now.
The warehouse situation is a mess. S Fulton is literally a blank state and all these warehouses are flocking there. The only way to stop warehouses on every corner is for most of the residents to speak up. Residents need to take part in HOA, city council/planning meetings and voice these concerns. In Forsyth, and decatur if residents don't want a local business, they will stop it. There are countless stories of Walmart's, Costco, and Fuqua developments on the horizon and residents stopping it. Entry level builders started flocking to cumming, within a year the zoning/building codes where changed to make it impossible to build entry level homes.
I think he, the Mayor, is speaking up. Better late than NEVER.... UC mayor is more the issue!!! Always has been. & he's correct most of the warehouse development is on the UC side. Unfortunately, there's nothing as the Mayor of CoSF can do!
The terrible decision to redirect 18 wheeler traffic has affected the quality of life for residences on Scarborough Rd. Who would redirect 18-wheeler traffic to a dead end area in a residential neighborhood. It's hard for anyone to know how the Coke warehouse has damaged our neighborhood. A good night sleep is something that I know nothing about since two humongous Warehouse were constructed in our residential neighborhood. I get a constant barrage of noise all night which makes it impossible for me to get a good night sleep.

Glad this is finally being seriously addressed, but we are at this point right now because the problem was not seriously addressed 4 years ago!

My husband's car was totaled by 18 wheeler while parked, hit and ran 😨

There are so much warehouses in South fulton its ridiculous. Luckily the dense tree cover buffers these warehouses.
