The problem of playing Monopoly on a console is that unless you're playing a region specific version you won't know any of the places on the board. I guess Hasbro/Parker Bros couldn't be bothered to port it to Europe, changing the names.
@@hazy33 I can imagine, as London is so big. But then how are the different colours a unity? I mean, in the Dutch version each colour is a different city, and within that colour are 3 (or 2, for the cheapest and most expensive cities) streets within that city. Are the different colours London blocks, or something?
It’s pretty much the same as the SNES version except that the music and sound effects aren’t as good. The train whistle in particular sounds really strange on the Genesis because of how heavily compressed the sample is.
I don't see any differences between the SNES, Genesis, or NES versions. Even the Game Boy version seems like the same kind of thing, although preferring other versions to that one is understandable.

I had the SNES version growing up. All the fun without the table flipping
I also had the actual snes monopoly cartridge!! Good memories!!
But then again there was the risk of rage quitting the controller thru the tv 🤔
replace table fliping with unplugging the console
Jonathan Williams id end up flipping the bird, at least!
@Jonathan Willams (OP)
I had the NES version
Glad to see the property values are in actual US Dollars, not that weird M symbol the newer versions of the game use.
Of Course!
Oh the memories just hearing the title song, played this a lot as a kid
GEN version was the funniest version of this game in the 90's.
The intro sounds like ur at a carnival
This is my favorite version and the one i had growing up
The way JAG was like cooking in this version of Monopoly was very serious, he knows that the AI’s are going to get rekt for sure! XD😂🤣

It's odd because there is a UK version of the board game with the places changed.
@@Magitek1112 Well yeah I played it lots of times. I just wonder it never got a port with the names changed on the board.
Actually, the UK version was original, the US version has the names changed
@@FigureFarter I guess they never prioritised the UK then. Weird.
@@FigureFarter This is incorrect. The US version is the original.
Wondering when will Monopoly Man will be in Super Smash Ultimate
When people know that his name is Rich Uncle Pennybags
39:50 Amanda is bankrupt
I would support her.
If that's the "Mega Drive" version shouldn't the streets be of London or at least a european city?
Mega Drive is the original Japanese system name as well. This channel is just faithful to the original console name, nothing more.
Wait, do the US and UK versions of Monopoly focus on a single city, instead of the entire country? That's interesting.
@@607 UK Monopoly was traditionally just streets of London and London railway stations.
@@worldoflongplays Well said! Ahahahaha!

I suppose this is an acceptable sound.
Monopoly is bottom tier as far as board games, though.
I got both sega and snes versions
This is the same as the SNES version and honestly that version is better.

That makes no sense.
