      The thing I didn't like about this home was the french doors in the living room and bedroom. Were the french doors are in the living room should be a solid wall for a gas fireplace and entertainment system and over the couch a window. In the bedroom the bed could be under the window and a closet on the wall with drawers and were the french doors are another window. Overall the home has plenty of liveable space. I like the kitchen layout not many kitchens in a tiny home have that unless it's custom built.

      I like the floor plan. I was wondering if there is enough closet space? Can you substitute the compost toilet with a regular water flush toilet? I read that you used to work for a RV company, I would guess that is where you got some of your ideas for your floor plans? I like the Pleasure Way Unity island bed floor plan, it could be adapted, maybe a little bit bigger, with more closet space and room for a stacked washer and dryer? 😂 Thank you for your commitment to excellence. ❤

    This actually is my tiny! Literally, I flipped on the TV to watch the morning news today, and this was the first thing in my UA-cam feed. I knew nothing about it. And I am totally OK with that! It gets delivered this Saturday (it's Wed), and this just adds to the excitement. And a very nice job on the video, Drew. If I do say myself. The wildest thing is, and I hate to admit it, I have never seen your channel until it popped up today. I've been a tiny video fanatic for about 5 years and I thought I had run out of options, since I watch incessantly! So I'm even happier, now that I have another channel to binge on. And Lastly...a HUGE shout out to Mint Tiny House Company. These guys are absolutely, positively amazing, in every aspect!!! I'm was a buyer in a previous life and a complete PIA when it comes to details and wanting the sky, moon and sun! They have surpassed my expectations from day one through today.

    Well you asked.... i really love the exterior.. im a big fan of red. I would take away the set of doors in the livingroom and uss that wall for the TV, electric fireplace (maybe), some shelves around TV for book storage. I would put hooks just to the left of big kitchen doors for jackets and righg below hooks i would put an IKEA shoe storage with flip down cabinet? .. its very slim. Then in the kitchen i would put a desk under window instead of the counter and kitchen storage. I would put a pull out pantry next to refrigerator. Then i would put ikea wardrobes to the left when you enter the bedroom. To the right you could put a ladder to a small storage loft above the bathroom.... if you'd want it.
    Its a very pretty home with a good layout. It is just missing storage and has too much glass. Those 3 double sets of doors would allow so much heat in in the summer and too much heat loss in the winter.

    The doors are great if you live in a mild climate. In the cold north, they would make it hard to keep the house warm in the winter. There is no closet in the bedroom---was there one in the hall that I missed? I do like the 10' width of the place, but I would make one of those French doors a conventional door and cut down on heat loss. If you live in a buggy climate, you can't have them wide open without screens, anyway.

  • @julieolson1646

    A. I’d want a bigger fridge (taller) with bottom freezer.
    B. Take out the eating counter, I’d use my own walnut 48” round dining table with two, three, or four of my own chairs, depending on fit, with perhaps places to store 1 or 2? They are original Eames bucket chairs, and I think maybe they are stackable?
    C. Black windows.
    D. My own selected paint color on kitchen cabinets.
    E. Take out double doors in living room-I will put my own console with tv, and my own furniture. The room can be cozy.
    F. I would add a ceiling fan in bedroom, and put storage over bed.
    G. Painted walls, my color preference.
    H. Outfitted for the vicious Northern Plains winters.
    I. My own selected light fixtures in main area.
    J. Shelving for books everywhere possible.
    K. I would need window screens on windows, except doors.
    L. Make it as tall as possible.
    M. More (clever) storage!
    That and maybe a few other things, like an incinerating toilet or plumbed toilet depending on where it would be.
    That’s the basics of how I’d customize this home! I need room for some books and things, and places to put art, but those are little details.
    Beautiful home! I’d have to go for the 10’ wide, even though if I haul it to another location, I’d have to have someone tow it as wide load. Those are just the basics I would do!

    I would have sliding doors so that they don't open in or out and take up space, with blinds already in them. A 30" wall oven under the counter, and electric cooktop. One can have mirrored tinting in all the windows, for privacy, cuts out the UV and other dangerous rays, also cuts out heat in the summer, cold in the winter, cuts out glare, acts as an adhesive if the window gets broken. Also, blackout blinds in all the windows, and motorized the ones in the upper windows, since they are too high to reach. I would want to put the couch under the window on the end so you can put a TV and electric wall mounted fireplace under it. Also, I hope the space for the washer/dryer is wide enough for a 27" washer/dryer combo or the LG Wash Tower with the controls in the middle, for us height deprived folks who cannot reach the dryer controls if two separate units are stacked on top of each other. That and the doors on each would be opening in opposite sides, whereas the LG Wash Tower, both the washer and dryer open with the hinge on the left side, which would make it more convenient moving laundry from washer to dryer, and it does vent out, for better drying, verses non-vented washer/dryer combos. Do love the roomier bathroom and house with the 10-foot wide.
    Lowes has a retractable screen door that comes in single, double and sliding door models.
    Love the bar on the end of the kitchen counter, a place to eat or work on your computer or whatever else you work on. I do love the 10-foot-wide homes. The house is really nice and spacious. An option, a wide folding door in place of two French doors in the Livingroom and kitchen area.
    Love the counter opposite of the sink, makes a great space for small appliances like microwaves, toaster ovens, blenders, mixers, ice cream makers, popcorn poppers, etc, and storage when you are not using them. Provides more prep space, or a place to fold clothes, towels, sheets, etc after taking them out of the dryer. Like the red and white on the outside, and white walls on the inside, helps keep it bright and light in the house.

    Agree with others regarding the total lack of storage. Unless this is being used only as vacation rental property, it makes no sense for anyone who actually plan to live in this, even part time.
    While natural lighting is great having all the double doors is limiting. I'd remove one set of doors in the living room, including the dog door. Unless you have fenced in property, a dog door can be problematic. I'd keep the set closest to the kitchen, using that other space from the doors to install a closest for coats, shoes, outdoor gear, dog stuff, cleaning supplies, vacuum, etc.
    Again, while the large kitchen is nice, that refrigerator is way too small. I'd enlarge the bathroom, using existing footage from the kitchen to accommodate a tub/shower combo & enabling the install of a clothes closest within the bedroom.
    For added storage, I'd use a storage bed with gas struts lift for easy accessibility. I'd use bins for seasonal clothing & other necessities underneath. Another idea would be having the builder incorporate a small storage loft in the bedroom given the height. There are many ways to customize a build & personalize it to meet individual living needs.
    Glad to see this uses the Lumos air exchange system. I'm surprised this or a similar system isn't consistently used within the building industry given the potential for destructive & deadly mold growth. It should be a requirement for RVIA certifications.
    The quality & craftsmanship seen in MINT homes is evident here. Thanks for sharing this.

      @leslie6189 Рік тому +2

      Taylor, congratulations on your Mint Tiny Home. And I hear you about the bedroom. I can say of all the videos I've watched, that folks who have beds that lift up like a chest, with storage underneath seem to be very happy with how much storage you get. I did also see one under bed storage, where the end or side rolled out additionally so you could access the under bed storage both by lifting the hydraulics, or by simply pulling open a drawer 3 feet deep by 5 feet wide on rollers, seemed a nice hybrid. Also, many people report feeling uncomfortable with the amount of shaking in the house when running washing machine... So you could consider an external unit in a shed or in an addition.. As then you could have a hanging closet in the bathroom. From what I have seen you will need a minimum of 2 to 5 feet of hanging space somewhere. I have see hanging bars that are about 10 to 12 inches in depth and the clothes face forward. The bar telescopes forward, allowing you to sort through the hung clothes, and then you just push it back in and close the closet door. With a system like that you can accommodate hung clothing in quite a shallow space, as regular closets require quite a considerable depth. Considering the lovely height in the bedroom you can also build a false floor with 18 inches storage over the whole floor, deeper under the bed. With a pull out step slash drawer from the centre. I once saw an extraordinary long pull out drawer under a raised floor, however the designer hadn't factored in that you need to be able to get to the sides of the drawer in order to handle/retrieve/sort and organize the items in the big drawer. And you can always have a shed.. For linnens, off season storage and clothes, etc... Maybe even space for a drop down cot for guests.. If your parking permits a bunkie... Are you going to private land? An RV Park or mobile home Park? Anywhere you go, that house is going to shine... It's a stunning layout.. Hope those ideas might generate some creative juice for your storage plans. And which end is your tongue? Because if you ever really needed to, a closet can go on a tongue, it can be the width of the house.. just has to have angled sides over the tongue, but it could be a 8 to 9 foot full length closet with drawers... And if your tongue is at the other end, then you could do a full 2 foot bump out, with the bed length side flush up against where the original back wall was, so you could still walk on 3 sides of the bed, and could have a full size closet after the bathroom, at the head of the bed... Wish I could draw those.. Sigh, words fail me... Oh and you can consider an RV queen mattress it's the length of a double, buys extra inches for getting around. And regular queen linnens work just fine on an RV queen mattress. I have one. And I had my double bed frame adjusted width wise to accommodate... But if I were on my own, I would have just stuck with a double bed. Hubby is tall.. His feet dangle off the bottom, but he doesn't seem bothered at all... And with full length queen we wouldn't have had enough inches to pass by the end of the bed.

      @leslie6189 Рік тому

I would put another cabinet over the fridge. Also, I wouldn't need 3 sets of French doors. I wouldn't want one in the living area across from the couch. But otherwise this is beautiful.

    My favorite for sure; may reduce some of the bathroom space to add a foot or few inches to the bedroom ... also I might convert one of the sliders into floor to ceiling window 😊. Really hit all the bells

    A very nice home for 1-2 people. Would remove French doors on the left and leave celestory window above then replace right door with standard window and celestory above. A standard door with sidelight for entry door. Lose too much valuable wall space using all that glass (also harder to heat and cool). Remove 2 feet from kitchen and add closet with drawers below in bedroom on either side of the door.

    The open sliding glass doors are cute because you could put a wraparound porch to give you plenty of options to use it for I don’t like any homes of any kind if they don’t have a option we’re I can have a combination spa bathtub and shower 🚿 but I love that you made animals accessible to go in and out lots of people seem to love ❤️ there animals almost as much as they love ❤️ themselves. Lol😂❤😂lol because it is true

  • @sandralnwebster3204

    You need to design it so there is closet space.
    A washer/dryer combo could go into the kitchen
    and a utility closet could go there as well. A
    wardrobe closet could go where the washer/dryer
    was located in the bathroom. The bed could have
    storage drawers as well. The bed could also be a
    Murphy bed which would allow you to have an office
    or exercise space! I really like the fact that the house
    has a wide beam of ten feet! You can do so much
    with that extra footage!❤

    • @drewanthonyb
      @drewanthonyb  Рік тому

      That's a great idea! With a ten foot beam, you can really maximize the use of space. There are a few ways to include closet space with this design. You can put a wardrobe closet in the bathroom, a utility closet in the kitchen, and storage drawers in the bed. Using a Murphy bed is also a great way to create an extra space for an office or exercise area. For more information about tiny homes, please visit www.drewanthony.ca.

    Great layout!!! Thinking of the weight of added storage is smart. (Add cabinets and stuff after it arrives at your destination .) I’d elevate the fridge with a drawer base. Love it.

      Thank you for your input! I'm glad you like the layout! The great thing about tiny homes is that you can always customize them to fit your needs and add storage after you've moved it to your destination - making it as spacious and functional as possible. Elevating the fridge with a drawer base is an awesome idea - it's a great way to maximize space and make sure everything fits perfectly. Love it except for a few things need to be deleted and some needs to be added. Need some wall space so the middle double door needs to go, and the kit needs to be a little smaller so the bedroom can be bigger to have a closet and drawers for your clothes, and the bathroom needs linen storage too. And take out the window in the bedroom for the double door and upper window gives you plenty of light. Other than that it's great. What's the price and where are you?

  • @MarciesWhimsySoaps

    Hi Drew. It's pretty and bright, but there's no place or space for your clothing and if you are cooking on a three burner stove, you hardly have room for more than one pan if you are using a skillet. Also, I didn't see any kind of air conditioning system except for the humidity system you have. Actually, I don't think that would work in the South. If one fan pulls air and the other pushes, you are just pulling in more humidity. Like I said, it's beautiful, but you will need LOTS more storage if you are going to LIVE in it.

    I would absolutely remove all of the French doors and add needed wall space. Small windows could be installed for light. An effort should be made to include as much storage as possible. Some of the windows could be removed as well. Skylights with automatic shades would be a viable alternative.

Yes, we can absolutely make the counter space by the right side on wheels so it can be moved around. For the one bathroom, it is great that you suggest a combination bathtub with a shower. We also love that the home has lots of windows and three French doors - that will let in plenty of natural light. Personally I'd just as soon have a park model camper. I think it is plain and straight. I don't get the ideal. Is it called a "tiny"home because that's the trend right now or because you can get it in areas/places that you can't put a camper?
