Very enjoyable response to watch! In regards to the slug/"4k but still black pip" theory, I did not go out of my way to slug and in fact for most of the games recorded I used Thrilling Tremors/Pop Goes the Weasel which all rely on hooking survivors as much as possible. The issue is that without Ruin, I often give up 1-3 generators to prepare a trap perimeter early (so low Gatekeeper) and if these traps are successful, I also get punished because stepping on a trap makes the game believe the survivor has "escaped" the chase successfully. There was also the odd game here and there were survivors just all stepped on all my traps one after another 1 minute into the game and the game was already won. In situations like that, I just kill everyone and not prolong it because I'm already at Rank 1 and I see no point in trying to rank up beyond that. The Emblem scoring system is particularly unfair to many Killers for a variety of reasons. Legion can "win" 4 chases in 10 seconds but sometimes as a Michael you'll end up in a long chase to build up your power and when you one-shot someone, the game will only count it as a single chase. The devs have talked about a Killer-per-Killer basis system where Trappers are compared to Trappers and so on, but until such a thing exists, the emblem system will be a flawed way to assess your performance. To assess how well you did, you need to determine the advantages/disadvantages you had relative to the survivors and how well you did given those circumstances, with obvious elements like keys/hatch aside. It's not the same to get 0 kills with everyone dead on hook than getting 1 kill by facecamping with Bubba. But I'm sure we agree on this!
Love to see you two having such a civil and productive conversation. It seems like the way the game is "won" or "lost" is a bit too nebulas. Obviously pips is how the designer's intended because the pips are what is referred to as "Match Results" in post game. It would seem that they need to change their rating system so that you don't have to slug for a 4k to get Merciless and that getting the designer targeted 2k isn't a "loss". In the end, yes, most killers can 4k with consistency. If we are going to rank or tier the killers, though, there must be a unit of measurement. It would seem using the designer's own rating system as the most obvious unit of measurement to use. What really separates killers like Nurse, Spirit, Wraith, and Ghostface (and to a smaller extent Billy) is that they rely less on survivors making mistakes because their power isn't predicated on chasing loops. This is why Ghost/Wraith might actually belong in the 3rd spot. Much love to you both!
but what do you think of tru3 definition of "viable"? IMO, i agree more with tru3's definition of viable, because ranking up means that the killer did a lot of things during the game to win, thus earning the 4 gold/iri emblems... i also agree that the current emblem systems are not suited for certain killers, but since it is in the current iteration of the game, we have no choice but to accept it....
Really loving to see two amazing people I admire get such a great and productive discussion going!! We need more of this in our toxic little community of DbD, and we (the rest of the community) need to follow your example. I feel like I'm getting more intelligent just by seeing your opinions! Much love
These two both want the same thing - have all Killers be viable - but their methodologies differ so much due to how they see a win. There ARE so many variables to this game that it becomes possible to derank after killing everyone or +2 after everyone escapes. I'd love for them to actually play together and have a proper conversation, due to it clearing any misconceptions (however slight).
I’m still not 100% convinced with Otz views on viable though. Course he has a different view on the game than I and tru3 do and his definition on viable is way different.
connor green Ardetha is awesome and a great guy, hell I subbed to him for a bit until I was kinda done with twitch in general, but he debates most of the time in the form of shit posts (which I love). But Otz and TrU3’s attitudes should just be the standard in dbd debates, especially with how they handled this.
His youtube videos are nice but sometimes on stream he acts like a total douchebag which is understandable but jarring to watch from an entertainment point of view.
Gilbert Zepeda maybe just the way he talks about other survivors, etc. he just chooses to say things that come off as a douche, but I don’t necessarily think he is one
C L18 I kinda agree to an extent I think that you’re referring to his occasional comments like “ you fucking idiot” and stuff like that but IMO I think it’s just a comment for when he doesn’t want to be silent or he wants to add some sort of comedic value to his streams
The two greats having a civilized discussion. This discussion is so much more respectful than the other guy that responded to Tru3's spirit video - Otz's response was much better and more respectful than the spirit one. Love it.
Dominik Over half of the response and argument Scott used was against a strawman argument True never brought up and then Scott started arguing against his own point, not trues.
Scott was slightly disrepectful by acting arrogant and twisting Tru3s argument for his own arguments. But the worst thing he did was just using populism arguments, simplifying things and using the same nonsense argument over and over again "just a bad spirit then". Thats not how arguments work, thats the way politicians argue. Tru3 and Otz use the "scientific" approach. They for sure are not always right. But thats what people mean with "adult" and "respectful".
I hope this proves to people that tru3 just wants to have a discussion and is willing to listen to opinions and other creators. He gets people talking, and to be honest i truly don't think we would see NEARLY as many ghostface and wraith players without true bringing this stuff to light. For so long myself included we COMPLETELY wrote off wraith as being a free win. And true does not main wraith but has proved to us that even people who do not main a certain killer can make them very viable and strong. Tru3 has brought to light a playstyle that has been around for a while, but has not been talked about AS MUCH OR OFTEN. So we should be thanking tru3 for bringing us a tremendous amount of variety to dead by daylight again. No longer do i get on dbd at rank 1 survivor and always expect Nurse Spirit and Billy. At red ranks i'm seeing, Spirit, Ghostface, Wraith, Pig, Billy ect Finally it feels like the stealth killers have respect and feel threatening to go against. And i feel like tru3 didn't start this, but he certainly played a huge part in it and he deserves a thank you. he gets a lot of criticism but at the end of the day he has provided me and plenty of other players variety to dead by daylight. and i think he deserves a thank you for that.
Ghostface used to be so rare in the purple and red aside from the few mains still using stalk only. Tru3 made it so you actually see a few more now. This can't be just a coincidence.
Agreed, I actually got very annoyed at reddits..."love" of otz for a bit. Nothing against Otz himself but reddit hating on True and loving him was very annoying whenever it was brought up. So it's good to see this conversation happening. Also I like that True is challenging the traditional "meta" playstyle of chase, loop, down, hook. There's more to DbD than that.
He doesn't get 4ks from slugging. He gets 4ks when the team throws by going into his traps and not being able to or deciding not to save their teammates, getting him less hooks. He has VERY clever trap placement. If you're interested you should watch just a couple of his vids. Makes Trapper viable at high ranks. Regardless, love you both. My two favorite streamers, also the least toxic.
@@mrheart8219 It is, but Tru3 spent a while questioning how Otz gets 4k brutal killer and theorized slugging. I was just explaining how he sometimes just wipes teams causing a 4k black pip
Orion Valentine I realized I’m late but how is he talking over someone who’s recorded? Just didn’t pause quick enough it’s not like he interrupted him rudely though
Most of the time Otz doesn't slug. But as trapper the games tend to all come together as a couple people fall into traps during rescues ext. That's why a lot of brutal's are up there.
Yeah Otz tends to snowball survivor mistakes a lot and end matches very fast, sometimes with survivors only being 1 hooked and of course this hurts his score. TrU3 plays a bit different and tends to methodically take them all down with constant pressure and hooking multiple times. No doubt due to the conditions TrU3 considers a win (which I personally agree with).
The phrase “but y’all not ready for that conversation” pretty much sums up this entire situation with TrU3 seeing potential in Wraith and the community hating on him for it
It’s so nice that this conversation was able to be had because you took the initiative to spend an entire day gathering data. I love this conversation between you two here.
Otz is so much more civilized in his discussion than Scott Jund. Scott paused after every single one of Tru3's arguments and instantly saying "this is completely wrong", while Otz is trying to prove Tru3's arguments wrong/right by actually experimenting himself and not saying that everything that leaves Tru3's mouth is wrong.
Loved this civilized discussion. These are my two favorite DBD players. Not only do I love watching them for the content they create and the fact that I believe they are two of the best and most skilled players in the game. But, the fact that both Tru3 and Otz are very analytical and respectful both in game and out is why I love watching them over other players/streamers and can actually take their opinions and analysis seriously even if I don’t agree with all of them.
Cyborgsuperman x I see what you’re trying to get at in implying that they aren’t the best and most skilled survivors, which is true compared to their merit in killer. However, I’m implying this in an overall sense as to their knowledge of the game and balance. They understand killer at an extremely high level which allows them to also understand survivor very well even if they sometimes struggle at the execution of certain survivor actions. It’s more overall game sense.
@@cyborgsupermanx6509 True is good at survivor as well, Otz is not a survivor player but he has played it, but he's not great. I wouldn't say either of them are the best survivor players though.
At first it seemed like tru3 was exasperated and was ready to just shit all over otz and I am so glad that wasn’t the case, because otz is so damn nice and wholesome and I would’ve hated to see him getting an unnecessarily toxic response from someone like tru3
To perhaps answer your confusion on how he's getting 4ks with 4 gens left and a Brutal Killer; Trapper is a very good snowballing killer, this is both good and bad, it's likely that most of the survivors were onehooked because their teammates walked into a trap before they could be unhooked, resulting in fewer hook actions, so worse Devout, and less injuries/interruptions so worse Malicious emblems.
For me, "winning" is basically making some nice plays, regardless of rank or the end result. I played a game yesterday running Saboteur and Break Out and I was able to help the same teammate wiggle out before getting hooked twice in a row. We ended up getting 4K'd with two gens left and I don't think I pipped, but man did I feel great after that game. It felt like as much of a win as you can get in DBD. The secondary winning condition for me is getting a lot of BPs. I don't care about rank at all, since pipping doesn't really feel like a reward; especially when you're already at rank 1 it's nothing more than a stat on a screen. When I'm at rank 1 for killer I feel like I get more toxic SWF squads and when I'm at rank 1 for survivor I feel like the diversity in the killers I get to play against goes way down, so most of the time I'm honestly fine not pipping. Getting a lot of BPs is always great though, since that means faster leveling and more perks, items, etc.
It's on live stream. And its refreshing for two popular dbd players have an open discussion. that actually wants to change this blasted love-hate game. and help these devs fix these issues that have been going on for so long.
Well i get ur point but try putting ur position in his. Example. When A talk about something and suddenly *pop u wanna answer it about that part with a piece of ur mind. But u scared to forgotwhat u have to say if u didnt pause because if u didnt pause and then suddenly the A talk about another thing and *pop again. And u gotta wait again. Yeahh if it were me i could sometime got thing mixed up and ended up forgot/cant answer it in full potential and regret it :((
@@blufu8727 it doesn't even matter when its on stream that guy is clearly an Idiot because if otz says something wrong about tru3 and you're not correcting it immediately whats the point of it? Its a nothing bout a shit talk lol
Even though I disagree with some of Otz's assessment I at least appreciate how friendly, and actually constructive he was with his thoughts. As opposed to certain other streamers who chose to let their feelings be known like god damn pre-schoolers.
As someone who started this game as a Trapper main: Emblem system is super unfair to Trapper. If you play Trapper well (defined as: Using his power to great effect, ie trapping people), you are punished with a bronze/silver chaser. So I agree with you True that ranking up matters buuuut...with the emblem system the way it is, the Brutal Killer matches were almost certainly because he snowballed with traps too quickly. That is not Trapper's fault...he placed traps well. Most of his brutal killer matches have 4+ gens left. This is the flaw with the emblem system. Same goes for Ghostface if you stalk a lot. I've 4k'd with GF doing actual stalking and you have almost no chases because you get half the number hits.
tru3 when you play trapper even with a 4k you have a tendency to get brutal killer because you lose out on gatekeeper due to fast gens early game and if you can place good traps during that early game, which otz is a good trapper he tends to do, you tend to not do well in the chaser category either. it can really screw you in the ranking system because of this and its why alot of people want a trapper buff and why i personally feel that the killer ranking system needs to be changed to a killer by killer system. a different ranking for each individual killer that way you get judged based on how you play that killer not on how you play killer in general.
Honestly, when i first bought DBD i thought that the game would emphasize the points more than escaping as survivor. I thought that escaping would be something you got if the killer was ultra bad, or you were ultra good. Something that happened once in a blue moon. But nah. 2 escape 2 kill. Point game? BHVR doesnt emphasize points all that much. It would feel a lot better as a survivor if they showed me the percentage of genwork i did. like 20% of all gen work that was done, was done by me. Or 30% of all killer chase time was me, ect. Doing that might help survivors see the game more as a points game, rather than an escape game. They could also have less emphasis on escaping by reducing the escape blood point reward to 2500 BPS like how the "No one escaped" scoring event is for killers. Then give survivors more ways to score in the survival category to compensate.
28:05 sadly this game is exactly like that sometimes. Today I had a game as survivor and it was a baby nurse that got looped for 5 gens she didn't even see me that game and I repaired 3 gens along with another guy (so I got max in repairs/co-op etc.) I then opened the exit game escaped and I DERANKED what kind of bullshit is that? Was I supposed to stay back and t-bag the killer to hit me so I can get points in "escaping"?
Okay so a couple points and then a long analysis. If you're a survivor main, you might want to skip this, it's not technical but you might not see the reasonning behind it. What this brings to the table : Otz and Tru3's gameplay differences and how it affects the argument. 1. I absolutely adore and love both of your guys contents' and it's cool to see you guys communicating about this. 2. I actually agree with you about the "winning" being "Ruthless" and "Merciless". If you get brutal, then by conventionnal measures and statistics, it's because the survivors played better than you did. You raised this point, there are even 5 Gen 4 Kill games where Otz gets brutal killer (So iridescent gatekeeper, still blackpip). The reason that happens is : Otz is absolutely merciless. If you make a stupid decision as survivor, he will not hesitate. Not. even. in. the. slightest. to absolutely capitalize on it. More often than not he runs either Haunted Grounds or Save the best for last on his trapper. If he's in the middle of chasing a survivor and haunted grounds pops and he downs the survivor and he knows the other survivors are close, he will go for them. And if as a result they all get downed within the 60 seconds (I've seen it happen, it's honestly just magical). Then so be it. He has adapted to an insanelly crazy aggressive killer playstyle, he has amazing smart plays (my favorite is how he puts a trap in front of his lit haunted grounds totem without ruin, and he knows when the trap goes off, he's about to get haunted grounds, so it's like having a 12 second additional information and no one else knows it'll pop so just find a survivor and wait and boom instadown) and i call that insane because game slow-down builds are way more affective than aggressive builds. Look at it this way : Each survivor takes about 15 secs to heal. A Gen takes about 80 seconds. you multiply those numbers by 4, things go really fast. Now with Tru3's ultra slowdown build, your healing time is 45 seconds, your gen will take more than 80 seconds (i estimate as far as three minutes since you're definitely injured and he will without a doubt slam you down. we've seen the footage). So for example for the healing, this doesn't slow it down by 3 Times (from 15 to 45) it slows it down by 12 TIMES. Because it affects ALL Survivors. And that's my main point, an aggressive killer build will give you advantages and boost you up. But the slowdown builds NERF all survivors. Essentially, instead of having to match the survivors high pace of 4v1 (which is just crazy, you can't be at all 4 places) you're slowing down the game so much that for a Wraith with that combination of add-ons, they just can't match the pace (it's like seeing a new trapper in a game with relentless SWF survivors ... he can't match the pace.) You see, Otz probably already realises this, but he will still go for aggressive builds (the guy is just insane. i have mad respects for him, his dark souls 2 run says everything about him, he's accomplished something i'm not sure any living human being has ever done or will ever do lol). He doesn't go out of his way to tunnel or camp, but he makes so much use of his perks, the same way Tru3, you make use of Sloppy/Thana/Nurse's. I mean that build is just perfect for GF/Wraith. Hell i would say even more for Wraith than GF, because Ghost Face is loopable to some extent if you manage to glimpse him, you can't loop Wraith. Tl;dr : i recommend you read it if you're interested in otz and tru3 and their differences in terms of playstyle but the gist of it : The reason why Otz gets brutal despite 4K 5 Gens is he's merciless. If survivors make a mistake, he capitalizes on it. He doesn't go out of his way to slug but he doesn't go out of his way to force out 12 chases either. You have to deserve the 12 chases to get them, nothing is free. This is accentuated by his use of really aggressive perks like Haunted Grounds on an M1 Killer (Trapper) so really just mindgames and I have seen him get 4 downs with it, both in early-game and end-game. Another point i bring up : - I think Tru3's way of going for the 12 chases as much as possible is the more skilled way to play - but i think Otz's way of using only aggressive perks and no defensive/slow-downs (i've gone over why slow-downs are objectively better) makes him a stronger killer. Let it be known that Tru3 is more consistent, he depips/blackpips less (i'm not counting the 4K Blackpips Otz gets because those are skillfull), he has innately figured out that slow-down perks are the absolute best there is out there and he shifted his whole playstyle around it (It's undeniable, besides Murderous builds like Infinite T3 or Tombstone Myers and such, slowdown builds are S tier) but i have definitely seen better killer plays from Otz simply because of how massively he capitalizes on his aggressive perks. (No ruin trapper is no easy feat, it doesn't matter wether you main him or not, at the end of the day, it's an M1 killer and traps don't matter if you set them up in 2 minutes and the game ends in 4). Essentially, what he does is he matches the crazy pace of survivors but no living killer with no living build can match survivor pace (basically not slow it down) and still get the 12 Chases. The mechanics of the game simply don't allow that, it would be too broken.
I actually originally watched you after Tearofgrace called you out a while back and fell out of favor cause I got bored of Dead by Daylight for a while. Started watching Otz after I got back into it and came to see your results with the build. Glad to see you’re a good sport about Otz video. Too easy to get all angry about it all.
Rechordian It was back when he had barely any subs. Tear used to shoutout someone every few weeks or so. Don’t really watch him anymore, but I assume he stopped after a while.
I think this brought up some good discussion. One of the problems I believe with killers and their balance is developers look at small portions of data like how many kills the killer got is their games and that's mostly it when there's things like what map did they get, how many of what kind of loops were there, what perks/addons/items were everyone using, did the killer slug the whole game, did the killer one hook most of the game, we're survivors doing gens as optimally as they could, and that's just to name some big ones. It also doesn't help that when people give opinions on what they believe for killers and how they pip they don't think like how the game is set as. As killer, you HAVE to do certain amounts of different things in categories and once you reach those marks then you receive your pip, the game's way of labeling the match as a killer win or not. People can still get a 4-3 man but not feel like they won because of how fast gens went, a bunch of ds, key/hatch escape in general, etc. So when people say winning is based on how the person feels after the match yes that works on a personal level but doesn't work at all for logical numbers that tell exactly what happened in the game and what the GAME considers as a loss or not. You can't say you won a game a chess because you took the most pieces if you still lost your king before the other player.
Great vid and great response, True. Dunno if I agree with saying Huntress' iri heads doesn't help map pressure, though. Shorter chases means more pressure on the other survivors. Also results in people usually playing a lot safer (throwing pallets more often, playing a little sneakier, etc), which helps the huntress apply pressure as the map is filled with more and more dead zones. But yeah fair point on the larger maps, Huntress might not get a 4k as consistently. Addons are not remotely well balanced, glad we can agree on that. Really great to have a discussion like this mate. Respect that you're both doing this.
28:39 "My standard of viable is able to win (against) anyone." Personally I don't think that's a good mindset to have to be honest. Making sure that "viable" killers can win every game is not fair to survivors. In both your own and Otz's gameplay, you both 4K'd (and by your definition) won almost every single game. At LEAST 90%. A game in which the viable killers win over 90% of the games is NOT a balanced gaming experience. Yet all we hear about is wanting to nerf survivors and buff killers. Especially from killer mains. Obviously it goes without saying, but for viability and balance between both survivors and killers, the balance should be closer to 50/50. Not +90/-10. I've said it before and I think it holds true, most killers won't be satisfied with the game until they can absolutely crush every survivor team, every game, with every killer. Survivors are fine with losing games. They have to be. Killers need to learn to be more accepting of being beaten, or having 1-2 people escape once in every few games. Calling for killer buffs, survivor nerfs and for more killers to be "viable" when (as demonstrated) the killer 4K/win rate (with what is typically thought to be less powerful killers, wraith & trapper) at or above 90% is absolutely ludicrous.
but did you consider how much work the killer has to put in to get the 4K? the inherent problem of this game is that the winning standard (pipping) is wonky for the killer, but well defined for the survivor... case in point: a killer gets a 4K, but it could be either depip, black pip, 1pip or 2pip... whereas for survivor, if he/she does enough gens, chases, unhooks and heals, he/she will pip even if he/she dies, and 2pip if he/she escapes.... however, if the killer gets a 4K along with 1pip/2pip, it is safe to assume that the killer performed multiple hooks, multiple chases, denies gens getting done, etc, just like a survivor pipping.... isnt that what the game wants i.e. either side has to work hard to earn the pip?
@@hampehwakenabeb7773 Yeah, I dont dispute that the killer has to do a lot in order to get the 4K (most of the time mind you, sometimes 2-3 survs can get snowballed in the first few minutes, especially with killers like Billy) but at the same time. Survs also have to do gens, ruin skill checks majority of the time, loop killers, deal with different killer abilities (all survivors minus perks are essentially identical in play style) do unhooks, protection hits if necessary, heal, find and cleanse totems, & open gates. I agree that a killer should never depip for a 4K and my initial comment wasnt even speaking about pipping. It was about the viability of killers. And my main point was that if (as demonstrated by both Tru3 and Otz) killers are getting 4K's and winning games over 90% of the time. There is an inherit balance issue that favours killers. If the game was perfectly balanced (which I understand is essentially impossible for all skill levels and variables) we would see a win/loss ratio much closer to 50/50. Related to that point was me stating that, Tru3 (at the time stamp provided) was saying that he wants all killers to be viable, and that viable to him means being able to win every match. Essentially wanting more power granted to killers. Even when he has (in Tru3's case specifically) over a 95% win rate already. (With a killer he doesnt even main) Yet all we hear about over and over is "entitled survivor mains" "nerf survivors" "buff killers" etc. As far as a 4K not being a pip on the killer side, that's the same story for a survivor where you might depip or black pip for escaping if you dont do enough. Both sides face the same issues. In order to pip at higher ranks you have to do everything. The pipping system is definitely flawed in some aspects, I think we can both agree there.
Eh, im pretty sure that is okay. Killers are supossed to feel powerful, if you play survivor to be scared of them. And the fact that the killers can win most of the time adds to it. This shit is nuclear.
Overall both have a point, tru is trying to bring what are now seen as weak killers into the higher tiers by introducing them to a new playstyle and loadout, while otz is arguing that if you use strong loadouts with other killers then they will rise as well. The problem is that add ons and perks are horribly rated, with wraiths clapper being a yellow, when in reality its an amazing game changing add on. Not all add ons are rated equally, with nurses current pink add ons being absolutely trash, while huntress' iri heads make her insanely powerful. If we go by the point of view by the many saying I should be able to use pink add ons with other killers, many flaws can be found. I have personally been finding heavy success with legion using my specific "reappear build" which I started using a few days back after seeing trus remake of wraith. The ability to change a killer or game completely using perks add add ons is an amazing thing that allows for a constantly shifting meta, though it can also be a double edged sword, as strong perks and add ons can lead to skilless yet profitable playstyles, such as huntress' that use iri heads and map offerings as well as strong perks. The problem is once you reach p350 youll get an ultra rare items almost every single level, and if you use bbq or bloodpoint offerings youll be able to go through a complete level after almost every game. This means a killer can get a very specific build consistantly and win due to the build rather than the players actual skill and experience. (Examples of old prayer bead spirits, multiblink nurses, iri head huntress, instasaw billy, chain hags, ect.) In all, play with whatever killer, survivor, or build you want. Just be open to others ideas (to the stubborn idiots who say wraith=trash and wraith bad becasue wraith bad!), and play with others in mind. Alot of players now only think of themselves, act toxicly, and ruin the game for others. For all of those who tbag the bubba who played fairly, dont you dare wonder why all youll fight is spirits and nurses now. People have been stuck in their mindset of this killers bad and this ones good, while there are millions of things to take into idea. Just listen and dont be assholes to anyone with a different opinion.
Some of your points I disagree with. Like mentioning how unless you’re outstanding in 1v1 scenarios you have to rely on survivor mistakes. Then immediately saying that Otzdarva’s experiment is less trustworthy since he’s a god trapper. If what you said before was true, then wouldn’t being a trapper main make no difference since survivors are the ones that determine how long a chase lasts? And also how do you not understand the add-ons point Otz was making? Otz was saying that he mainly used mediocre add-ons throughout all 16 games. He’s trying to prove how every killer can be viable if you find a build/playstyle which suits you regardless of add-ons and perks. Also the reason why he got brutal killer was probably because of dumb survivors. Notice how each time he 4k’d and got brutal 4 gens were up without ruin. You don’t deserve to pip if it was that easy of a match because crappy survivors don’t prove your skill level. One of your final points that I don’t agree with is your insistence that if rank 1 was mainly made up of great survivors that most killers would underperform. But this simply isn’t possible at all. Sure if everyone plays to their absolute best and is immensely efficient then a decent chunk can’t compete nearly as well as others but nothing can ever reach that level even if the ranking system was stricter. If we balanced around these outlier groups than the game becomes even more unbalanced for the extremely large majority of the playerbase. The fundamentals of this game don’t allow most killers to do well in 1v1’s most of time but over the course of the match outplaying killers as a survivor becomes more and more difficult. There are tiles and moments in the game which can allow even the weakest of killers to decidedly end chases on their own volition, but not every single one can end chases as fast as Spirit or Nurse which is fine.
a good huntress with iridescent head will 4k everytime garunteed. iridescent head is basically long range noed on steroids and it makes it so the only defense survivors have to protect themselves is stealth. and there are so many perks which can make stealth impossible against a killer who knows what their doing. there is no argument against iridescent head it is bluntly the best add on in the game. a quote i would use to sum up iridescent head is the survivors are bringing spoons to a gun fight.
It is the worst add-on in the game, in the regard that it forces a hunter to attempt 1000+ meter cross map hatchets and lose their time. Mental pressure is strong with this one, as it screws up with your normal play pattern. Also, even though it is definitely useful, anti heal build makes survivors as easy to down as the iridescent head (with the hatchets). So, that alone nullifies the benefits of the add-on. Besides, it does not even go through borrowed time, and the only effective way to use it is by adding Eboni Mori to the mix (granted you never M1, which, similarly to cross-map hatchets, is psychological pressure which does appear). Lastly, Nurse and Huntress are the worst killers (in DBD Mobile and partly on console) due to their impossible difficulty of usage and severe punishments while making a mistake. With the case of this Huntress build, the punishment is amplified as you get not 5 but 1-3 hatchets, which is a major breaking point. It costs you precious time, as well as has a very high opportunity cost (inability to equip wind-up add-ons with this build). There is no use of a Nuclear weapon of you can’t land it 99/100 times. They are also insanely slow and give too many visual/audio clues making them very easy to avoid for the entirety of the match, if so desired. Eboni Mori AND some add-one is the only way to use these hunters on the same level as any other. Being immobile hurts them most, due to the fact that their powers is difficult to land and needs set-up (line of sight, survivors not dodging it etc). Of course we are mostly talking about the mobile version here, why wouldn’t we? It is the only free & accessible version of DbD there is. Everybody agrees that Nurse/Huntress are highly powerful on the PC version (due to having a mouse there, hell, try to play shooter via mobile/console on the same level as on PC.... hint - it is nigh impossible).
@@kingol4801 nobody cares about your mobile opinion if you arent playing on pc then you arent playing dbd your playing a recoloured version of candy crush. keep on tapping there mobile boyeee
Has Amanda What is the difference? All powers, add-ons, mechanics etc work exactly the same. It does not have all the content the PC version has, but it will get there eventually. It is no different to console version of DbD, if anything. And if you don’t consider that other DbD outlets are also DbD for the purposes of unnecessary gatekeeping......ding dong your opinion is wrong.
@@kingol4801 the fact is you just can't play competitive games on mobile it just never works so when you take the competitive aspect out of dbd it makes arguements about how valid something is or isn't in the meta irrelevant because no one actually takes the game seriously enough to practice and get perfect on pc however you see player who have 2 to 3 thousand hours and actively push themselves to destroy swf and extremely competent survivors. I'm not saying mobile games can't be fun im just saying that when you are talking about a game from a competitve standpoint pc is the #1 platform people use to play games competitively cause the controls are the best (with some games being exceptions like super Mario speed running).
Has Amanda It is better to take the competitive aspect out. Then you end up with an enjoyable game (far less toxic community if it is not compe, where skills of the players are mediocre (and not veteran). It is a win win situation. And you can definitely do tier lists. What you have to understand is that tier-lists for low ranks and high ranks are very different (in every remotely competitive game). They are not irrelevant though.
Now it's my dude Tru3 reacting to my man Otz. You both are very good people and it's awesome to see stuff like this. Now you just need to have a Sandbag video with each other and 2 others.
I really like Otz and Tru3 since they both wants EVERYONE to feel happy, i feel like they can "discuss" stuff without "flaming" people and i really like that
13:30 as a billy main myself, first of all, no pink addons, he has 2 purple addons that I NEVER use because the mangled effect seems pointless because so what if they heal? Just insta down them, and turning is only for fun, but it messes with the muscle memory of my curves a bit. But the Carburetor Tuning Guide addon with either Primer Bulb (Moderate Charge Time), Thompson’s Mix (Slight Charge Time, Considerable Cooldown), and probably strongest of all, Doom Engravings (Moderate Speed, and with Tuning Guide the Charge speed is Slightly increased, meaning no downsides to this addon combo) makes Billy able time win games at rank 1 without perks (I’ve done that a lot just to prove this point). Since Otz said we have to compare other killers with their best addons to Wraith with his best addons, then yes, most killers will be able to win, and like your wraith if we can use perks to compliment the playstyle and just try to win, then Ruin BBQ Monitor and Abuse and Infectious Fright (I don’t find Spirit Fury Enduring or Bamboozle as good perk combos) then just like wraith, I could win 16 games in a row with 4ks and ruthless/merciless killer. It was at this point I forgot what I was arguing about, I think I was just providing information to be used later. I have full respect for all DBD content creators, including Otz and Tru3, and I play survivor and killer equally, and I wish we all could just agree with reason
"I don't know why you wouldn't rank up if you've won" You say that you don't like the ranking system. I would understand if you thought only ranking up counts if you also liked the ranking system. Since you don't, _I don't know why you would_ let ranking up decide _if you've won._
What? He is basing his win if he ranks up. He doesn't have to like the system, he is forced to because the game made them like that. He is following rules, and what counts as a win. It's logic. By winning you get something, not staying on the same rank is one.
I agree about the survivor thing. I used to be so concerned with escaping, but now I can die and still pip. I'm starting to play more effectively within the scoring system to level up.
Hey tru3 you shouldn’t worry too much about using the ultra rare because if you really think about it every survivor runs purple or red add ons. I find this so funny because I used to only play wraith even prior to his overall buff when he was on par with Freddy and still used to 4 man
Jack Velian it’s not a problem it’s just for genuine viability an addon that changes his ranking by that much which you won’t have often isn’t a good test of viability . Like as it’s said some iri huntresses could win every game some plague with her iri becomes way more powerful with it iridescent addons do too much to base a killers viability on if he did it ok the coxcomb clapper I would definitely agree more I just don’t think it’s fair to base viability off of an iri however I do agree the play style is good
One thing I think should be taken into account when discussing "viability," regardless of if you mean getting a better rank or getting more kills, is survivor's adapting. Think of how many Wraiths or Trappers are played at high ranks normally. I doubt most people would have a concrete strategy of how to counter them, but if they faced them more often then there's no doubt they'll find some sort of tactic. Take for instance, Plague. When she was sort of new a lot of people thought she was incredibly strong. Then they learned when & when not to cleanse against her and she became a lot weaker in terms of kill and ranking potential. Then there's the perks they bring. The standard (And as a console player, the ONLY perks survivors run) has been a mix of: Borrowed Time, Decisive Strike, Dead Hard, Self-Care, a distancer(Lithe, Balanced Landing, Sprint burst), Prove Thyself, and Adrenaline. Taking that into account, a lot of people DC or hate going against say, Doctor, but if you have Calm Spirit, then he's drastically weaker. The Spirit, lot of people think she's really strong. But from my own experience, Iron Will works wonders against her. Then there's the stealth-based killers, Wraith, Ghost Face, Piggy, and Michael. Spine Chill makes their stealth a lot more manageable. These perks are ones I hardly see anyone run, but if any of those killers became more used, then I could see them becoming more popular and thus lowering the viability of the killers they counter. This is just a poorly worded mess of a rant/thought on the matter though. /Edit: Spelling and spacing.
Best part is 21:08 I totally disagree with True... I always do... and yes he will think that i’m a survivor main (= cancer cells).... Otz is a completely different killer... he is not living in a “lets have 2 pip 4 k every single game” club, he has a strong point... True wont stop complaining about the ranking system even though he maintains his rank 1 for eternity and he completely ignored what Otz said about that its a people who actually playing this... not some kind of an evil spirit...
There are so many variables at play here it’s difficult to really say much for sure without a huge sample size of games with each killer as you said. I couldn’t agree more about match results depending completely on the survivors when it comes to “weaker” killers. Even at rank 1 I tend to encounter teams that have 3 really good loopers and one potato that goes down in thirty seconds. That can make a HUGE difference in whether or not you pip or get a 4K.
The reason he’s getting a bunch of brutal killers is because he’s not trapping enough survivors, when you trap a survivor almost every medal is awarded points. Because he traps only 2-3 people a game he loses out on points. The Trapper can 4K quite quickly with the right build and set up. The problem with trapper is how the emblem points are awarded. He gets people trapped and ends chases to fast at times that he doesn’t receive as many points as he would another killer. I respect both of these guys and I hope they continue the discussion because it opens people eyes to what’s really going on in the game.
First, nice to see a good exchange of ideas. Second, one thing you both have to factor in how each killer is either hurt or helped by how the system rewards use of the ability. For example Plague is a solid enough killer hurt when people simply don't clean. You need power puke hits to rank. Meanwhile Legion struggles one versus one, but can get credit for four chases at once during a Frenzy. The system is broken.
lets be real... The system could be better But at the same time, True might not like the game anymore if the game mechanics around ranking was adjusted Its actually a pretty intricate dilemma, But out of all the People to come together and debate said Game Mechanics, it was these 2. They both adore the game, And they're the kind of DBD Gamers we should be raising up
@@ShreddedSteel If only they took the time to adjust it to how people play. Even on the survivor side rewarding gen jocks and chasers . Even some minor tweaks will make more killers and play styles seem viable.
The killer ranking system is actually favoriting survivors, it promos killers to do lots of chasing and hooking, and punishes killers that camp and tunnel. A killer can perform very badly and still get a 4K but he can't get pips in red ranks without decent performances.
Kurt Cobain There is nothing right about it either. Some killers are made for this (Leartherface), others are made to proxy-camp (trapper, hag, demogorgon, Freddy). That is the intentional use of their power, if anything.
I was really worried seeing this posted that it may get toxic, but I've very glad you've both been very level-headed. The only thing I'd say that I didn't like was concluding that Otz slugged a lot on some of those games, but it could have very easily been survivors killing themselves on hook or no one coming to save them, or even Otz juggling chase with the other 3 so that they couldn't (He also didn't mention anything about DCs, so I'm not sure if he counted those as kills). I'm not trying to say you're wrong necessarily, but your opinion is heard by many, many people, and as people do, they come to a conclusion that suits them. I really hope not to see comments saying things like, "Oh, Otz is rank 1 because he slugs to get his 4ks" etc. etc. I hope this discussion continues and that the devs actually realize how incredibly flawed their ranking system is. I will also say, you may place incredibly devious traps as Trapper, but you still have to rely on the survivors to step in them, which just may not happen much or at all in a game, which means Trapper missed out on most of a category, making it much harder to get Merciless, or even Ruthless, with a 4k.
I personally believe that the reason this whole discussion about Wraith happening in the first place is that he's been played one way and has been one of the weakest killers for such a long, long time, so it's hard to see him being above like, C tier.
We need to stop thinking about certain Killers not been able to perform well on red ranks and start to think in how could they perform well enough for you
This is why I have always found Spine Chill to be one of the strongest perks. It removes the strongest aspect of a stealth killer for the person using it, as spine chill user does not need to guess or be wary of a surprise when they are unsure of whether or not the killer is in a chase. They will never be caught off guard and will never waste time second guessing themselves. If it is not a stealth killer, then the previous statement still applies just to a lesser extent. Spirit is not considered a stealth killer but knowing if she is facing you in phase walk can be very helpful, as can getting a head start on the many killers with a smaller terror radius. Additionally, I believe spine chill also gives you 6% more speed to every action except recovering when the killer is looking at you.
Actually Zubat has done the "douchebat" streams in the past where he used only killers with bs addons and he never lost a game. The only reason he stopped is because he didn't enjoy playing like a dick.
Man I can both vibe and binge watch to this... Seeing both my fav youtubers having the most civil, peaceful, non toxic conversation is enough to make a grown college boy cry. I love this very much tho and each point was super nice to bring up.
Ive watched otz plays and he only slugs when he needs to gain more control. Mostly he Do multiple chases. However, as former trapper main its actually quite possible get brutal killer 4 mans without slugging because game punishes you if most of your hooks comes from just grapping or quickly smacking survivors that are trapped. You loose chaser points cuz there never was chase. Otz is extremely good trapper and he Had in past games where he 4k without slugging just due his superb trapping. That is one thing about using pip system as a mark of vialibility, as some killers gets f*cked by it, plague, michael, billy and trapper can get 4man kills without heavily using slugging and still just black pip. However its still valid thing to use. As is kills too. IMO killer is viable if you can use just whatever addons and perks and still consistanly get wins/kills against good players. ATM there is only 2 who can achieve that, nurse and spirit. Maybe the very best billys and huntress can achieve that too. And by best i mean huntresses who without cheats only misses like 2-3 hatches out of 10 regardless of survivor movements and billys who curves out of All sorts of corners and other crazy chainsaw stuffs. Not that my view matters, but alas.
With the amount of large maps in the game now, and the amount of just debris that obscures shots, I just can't put huntress as high as she was a while ago. Other than that, I agree with everything you said there.
Its fine :) . I forgot to mention in my comment that im not superb killer player. Personally i would rate myself as decent/good. So my point of view Does not fully come from personal exprience with All killers. More from combo of survivor PoV and killer PoV.
So, I'm really glad you mentioned that the end result is not what matters in this game. It's something I try to explain to people a lot. It's about how well you did. I've played many games as survivor and killer where I didn't seem to win. Whether I died on hook or I didn't get a 4K, yet my rating and ranking were almost perfect.
I agree with you Tru that just going for a 4 man isn't what i consider a win or the most fun. Just escaping as a survivor isn't what i consider a win or the most fun. I love the chase, the saves, the mind games! I just had a game yesterday i got multiple saves heals gens done and some solid chases, then i got noed opening the gate, i messed up there, but it was such a fun match overall, and i almost got a double pip at rank 2. If you just consider a 4k or a escape as a win then you are missing out on most of the fun aspects and important details of the game. I dont have thousands of hours in DBD, so im just talking out of my ass, but thats my 2 cents on Otz and Tru differences for whats a win.
Both, you and Otz are my favorite DBD streamers. I learned so much from both of you, it's amazing. I actually like playing with the Wraith (I am however a Play with your food Wraith), surprisingly I managed to get out of dire situations with him. He is not my best Killer, but still very good. (I think my non-stalky Ghostface is best atm.) Brutal Killer with 4k on Trapper happens to me too, and I don't slug. It happend while I was doing the challenge with the 5 Traps in a round. The first one died on first hook, he never made it out of the basement. The rescuer died on first hook, he also did not get out of the basement. The third one was on second hook, she got rescued. And the last one died on first hook too. Two of them ran into my traps twice, so ... yeah that was that. (Still it was a total win for me, it was so satisfying to see them in my traps). My Winning Conditions are more like Otz'. I win when I get a 3 or 4k. I am a Green Rank Killer (and rank reset is near, so no way I get to purple ... haven't played killer in like a week u.u) so I guess this is different anyway. But I understand where you are coming from too. Anyway, keep up the good content. You gave me so many new ways of playing killer (or survivor) :)
Damn I wish you could do some sort of collaboration because it would make the conversation so much better and evolve quicker, like I was with true then I was with otz now I’m with true again because the discussions are valid and the counter arguments make sense. Overall great video and I hope more comes out of this.
Love this convo Thank God you mentioned that it's almost impossible to prove anything fully in this game. We don't have a tournament scene, we don't have enough of a consistent sample size. That's why when streamers need to be more careful when declaring that someone 'can' t be countered' or whatever And I'm glad you mentioned that iri head doesn't remove huntresses main problem of having low mobility. If she's against good survivors she will win quick chases and have to walk 30 secs before she starts her next chase. Iri head real strong, but is it better than new omega blink? Nah
The big difference in these two experiments is otz sets out to make a point to tru3 with his experiment. Tru3s experiment was made from curiosity wanting to see if his idea could work. He didnt have an end result in mind
One thing this video proves in my opinion is these are the two greatest minds in DBD. They really are an example of what the community should be. They both help by teaching people things through their videos. You can’t deny you don’t get better by watching them.
You're definitely right about what is considered a win in this game, and btw i'm playing better with that mentality in my head, i mean even if i don't escape as a surviror, but i feel like i did a lot and got a lot of points that convert into bp, i'm cool. Same goes for killer, if i didn't 4k but i had a 30k+ game plus bbq getting to 60k bp i'm fine, and it makes the game much more chill, and you don't stress so much about 4k or escaping, more people should try to see the game this way.
I am not a public figure but I would love to discuss this with you. You put a lot of statements out there with interesting and valid points but also some vague ones. In the end there are many ifs. It is hard to determine if "tier lists" should be sorted by highest potential or if difficulty should be taken into account, with or without addons, what is "winning", what even is viability? Space Coconut made a nice video on that. But there is too much for just one comment... Just one thing right now: Even if you don't main wraith, he is one the most straight forward killers to play as. Once you're uncloaked, M1-killer. The difficulty of wraith isn't mechanical, it is the strategy of when and where to uncloak und of course you've played this game (and ghost face who is similar to wraith as you said yourself) enough to understand how to bamboozle survivors.
From watching a lot of Otz gameplay my explanation for brutal killer 4 kill games is not direct intentional slugging but rapid succession traps shortly after a hook leading to one survivor left standing whom he then chases and downs. This leads to one hooking everyone. That’s simply how trapper games can go sometimes with well placed traps.
I definitely can see both sides of the discussion. Personally I shift between both sides, when I go against a really good survivor team with good items I tend to see a win as kills, but when I'm going against a less optimal team I definitely try my hardest to go for a pip based win. But something that overlays all of this is the fact that I play for fun more than anything, so even when I "win" I find myself apologizing to survivors for playing like an a-whole. And even when I "lose" I can't help but be satisfied with the game. That's just my opinion though, it's good to see my two favorite dbd players having a discussion.
As a US DBD gamer I have to apologise for the way some of our community is acting on this side of the pond. You've shown tangible results with your experiment that cannot be ignored by playing in a way that survivors don't expect and for that I tip my hat to you for your creativity.
I love both Otz and Tru, they are both fun to watch and very intelligent. I would absolutely love to see them debate this live on a twitch stream. They are respectful and truly understand the game. Much love for both of them.
Otzdarva oh hey it’s that guy that lost the no hit run on the final boss
@@cheesyboilednipples-182 oh hey, did you know that he finished it as well? And that he is the first one in the world that did it?
but what do you think of tru3 definition of "viable"? IMO, i agree more with tru3's definition of viable, because ranking up means that the killer did a lot of things during the game to win, thus earning the 4 gold/iri emblems... i also agree that the current emblem systems are not suited for certain killers, but since it is in the current iteration of the game, we have no choice but to accept it....
Really loving to see two amazing people I admire get such a great and productive discussion going!! We need more of this in our toxic little community of DbD, and we (the rest of the community) need to follow your example. I feel like I'm getting more intelligent just by seeing your opinions! Much love
One thing you definitely got to give Otz is he respectful and trying to take everything into account
Indeed
Otz is the man
One thing you definitely got to give tru3 is he respectful and trying to take everything into sccount
Otz would be a great ambassador for pretty much any topic thst he has knowledge on.
You guys should consider starting some sort of "state of the game" esque podcast. It's an absolute joy to listen to you both.
Why doesnt this comment have more upvotes? Bump

Cool how you tubers can have discussions like this now a days.
You really can make any killer build viable. You are really good at the game.
i learned so much by just watching him
I’m still not 100% convinced with Otz views on viable though.

I absolutely love that pfp

I'm so glad its Otz because he can understand both sides and takes EVERYTHING into account. He's a cool dude and I love to watch him
His youtube videos are nice but sometimes on stream he acts like a total douchebag which is understandable but jarring to watch from an entertainment point of view.
Jebu911 I would agree I don’t know if it’s so much as he’s being a douche, but rather that he just comes off as one

Love it.
Lol how was scott not respectful in his spirit response video?
@@JackiTheOne yeah it was the community not Scott himself
Nah, it was Scott & his community.
I agree dude, and i absolutely love seeing a variety of killers played at the red ranks
Ghostface used to be so rare in the purple and red aside from the few mains still using stalk only. Tru3 made it so you actually see a few more now. This can't be just a coincidence.
I love seeing more people play wraith he was the first killer I decided to play back in the day
Agreed, I actually got very annoyed at reddits..."love" of otz for a bit. Nothing against Otz himself but reddit hating on True and loving him was very annoying whenever it was brought up. So it's good to see this conversation happening.
Also I like that True is challenging the traditional "meta" playstyle of chase, loop, down, hook. There's more to DbD than that.

He has VERY clever trap placement. If you're interested you should watch just a couple of his vids. Makes Trapper viable at high ranks.
Regardless, love you both. My two favorite streamers, also the least toxic.

@Orion Valentine I'm sure it just sort of slipped his mind when he did do it the few times but it wasn't that often in my opinion

@@johnwarner4178 its not that he interrupts him, is that when 2 people talk at the same time you cant understand shit.

Girls discussing DBD: OMG this new shirt for Kate is only 10 dollars!
Boys discussing DBD:
Otz is so much more civilized in his discussion than Scott Jund. Scott paused after every single one of Tru3's arguments and instantly saying "this is completely wrong", while Otz is trying to prove Tru3's arguments wrong/right by actually experimenting himself and not saying that everything that leaves Tru3's mouth is wrong.
Scott is terrible dude. He and jen were the worst streamers to happen to dbd lol

CaptainCastle Ochido was the worst thing to happen to DBD, not Scott lol.

William Alvarado skilled in killer right?
Cyborgsuperman x I see what you’re trying to get at in implying that they aren’t the best and most skilled survivors, which is true compared to their merit in killer. However, I’m implying this in an overall sense as to their knowledge of the game and balance. They understand killer at an extremely high level which allows them to also understand survivor very well even if they sometimes struggle at the execution of certain survivor actions. It’s more overall game sense.

Also worse Chaser, since the game figures someone running into a trap during chase means they escaped the killer.
Two intellectuals I respect having an intelligent discussion about shit I love. Thank you Universe 🙏🏼
Cringe universe we live in?
God I love my special bonus reward towards the end of the video my eardrums loves it

Agreed. Identity V does exactly that and it works. Still, if survivors are dummies and you win under a minute you don’t get many points there, sadly.
i saw this vid in my recommended and thought "oh man dont be toxic please i love both of these channels" but was glad to see a healthy discussion
Finally a normal discussion btween 2 streamers that doesn’t involve salt. I respect this
28:05 sadly this game is exactly like that sometimes.
Essentially, instead of having to match the survivors high pace of 4v1 (which is just crazy, you can't be at all 4 places) you're slowing down the game so much that for a Wraith with that combination of add-ons, they just can't match the pace (it's like seeing a new trapper in a game with relentless SWF survivors ... he can't match the pace.)
You see, Otz probably already realises this, but he will still go for aggressive builds (the guy is just insane. i have mad respects for him, his dark souls 2 run says everything about him, he's accomplished something i'm not sure any living human being has ever done or will ever do lol).
Tl;dr : i recommend you read it if you're interested in otz and tru3 and their differences in terms of playstyle but the gist of it :
The reason why Otz gets brutal despite 4K 5 Gens is he's merciless.
Another point i bring up : - I think Tru3's way of going for the 12 chases as much as possible is the more skilled way to play
- but i think Otz's way of using only aggressive perks and no defensive/slow-downs (i've gone over why slow-downs are objectively better) makes him a stronger killer.
You can't say you won a game a chess because you took the most pieces if you still lost your king before the other player.
special bonus end almost made me throw my damn headset jesus lol
The true kings of dbd, love this content
Otz doesn't rly slug to one hook every survivor. He usually only slugs to avoid DS.
28:39 "My standard of viable is able to win (against) anyone."
Personally I don't think that's a good mindset to have to be honest.
Dave Rudabaugh Dang...that was good. I like your points and perspective. This is what I’ve been trying to tell people. 😂
“Iridescent heads are probably going to get nerfed”
1 year later
DOnt worry. It got nerfed now ;) Only what.... 4 years after it came out :P
a good huntress with iridescent head will 4k everytime garunteed. iridescent head is basically long range noed on steroids and it makes it so the only defense survivors have to protect themselves is stealth. and there are so many perks which can make stealth impossible against a killer who knows what their doing. there is no argument against iridescent head it is bluntly the best add on in the game. a quote i would use to sum up iridescent head is the survivors are bringing spoons to a gun fight.

You say that you don't like the ranking system.
They both stream in similar times they should have a live discussion it would be interesting

I totally disagree with True...
That can make a HUGE difference in whether or not you pip or get a 4K.
watching this made me wonder why politicians cant have discussions like this.
The system could be better
But at the same time, True might not like the game anymore if the game mechanics around ranking was adjusted
Its actually a pretty intricate dilemma, But out of all the People to come together and debate said Game Mechanics, it was these 2. They both adore the game, And they're the kind of DBD Gamers we should be raising up
@@ShreddedSteel If only they took the time to adjust it to how people play. Even on the survivor side rewarding gen jocks and chasers . Even some minor tweaks will make more killers and play styles seem viable.
Please just make this an endless loop of responding. I would love that
The killer ranking system is actually favoriting survivors, it promos killers to do lots of chasing and hooking, and punishes killers that camp and tunnel.
A killer can perform very badly and still get a 4K but he can't get pips in red ranks without decent performances.
But that would be you considering win as ranking up not just by 4k
for me , performing well as Killer would result of 4k mostly
We could even say the rank up system for Killers would need to change
There is nothing wrong in punishing camping and tunneling.
Simple , new builds , game changes could change people perception on the Killer
Probably there are more hidden builds for others Killers that we haven´t taken into account yet
*see's Otz in a true vid*
wow is this a crossover episode!
I love people like this.
They can actually sit down and listen to each other's opinions, and have a debate without going at each other's throats
imagine zubatlel running iridescent head on every game.
Zubat and Umbra running iridescent would probably 4k every game all month xD
Demon's Souls character creation OST playing in the background, love it
And His name reminds me of " Ostrava "
Coincidence? I think not.... Now, Give Me the Makoto
(I think my non-stalky Ghostface is best atm.)
Brutal Killer with 4k on Trapper happens to me too, and I don't slug.
If we're going by kill streaks isnt speed limiter leatherface the second best killer
Love this convo
Thank God you mentioned that it's almost impossible to prove anything fully in this game. We don't have a tournament scene, we don't have enough of a consistent sample size. That's why when streamers need to be more careful when declaring that someone 'can' t be countered' or whatever
And I'm glad you mentioned that iri head doesn't remove huntresses main problem of having low mobility. If she's against good survivors she will win quick chases and have to walk 30 secs before she starts her next chase. Iri head real strong, but is it better than new omega blink? Nah
Two legendary killers meet and talk. I love this.
I bought this game 1 year ago. Wraith with Sloppy Butcher was my main killer. Thanks for showing some love to the Wraith, great to see.
Otz is a treasure. I loved seeing you two, my two favorite DBD content creators, interact with one another. Keep up the amazing content!
Have u ever faced otz? I would love to see that match up
This is very healthy for the community I want to see more discussions like this where everyone can be an adult and share their ideas love Tru3 and Otz
The people who disliked still can't respect an opinion. #feelsbad
1 gen done 4k brutal killer means he just destroyed those survivors
From watching a lot of Otz gameplay my explanation for brutal killer 4 kill games is not direct intentional slugging but rapid succession traps shortly after a hook leading to one survivor left standing whom he then chases and downs. This leads to one hooking everyone. That’s simply how trapper games can go sometimes with well placed traps.
Crazy how a really good killer mains can use a "d tier" killer and find success at red ranks
Finally no flamerino
As a US DBD gamer I have to apologise for the way some of our community is acting on this side of the pond. You've shown tangible results with your experiment that cannot be ignored by playing in a way that survivors don't expect and for that I tip my hat to you for your creativity.
OTZ love for obsession perks and the fact that he mains trapper. Tends to lead to a more sluggy play style
I love both Otz and Tru, they are both fun to watch and very intelligent. I would absolutely love to see them debate this live on a twitch stream. They are respectful and truly understand the game. Much love for both of them.
I’m just tired of seeing Wraith every god damn game lately. People can’t think for themselves and only play what streamers play and talk about
I've played Wraith even when he was considered bad, and still main him to this day. Damn, such a fun Killer to play.
Six months old and this is still the best discussion of DBD strategy anywhere.
