Hi Stephanie, so loved your video and your art. I to believe the same way you do when it comes to being a responsible pet parent. I do art, make primitively yard and seasonal items from old wood. Birdhouses and dogs, just about anything That comes to mind. I absolutely believe that my art work and my dog has helped me get through some very challenging times thru out my life. You a wonderful person to share such a private parts of your life. Your story touched me. I understand your childhood. I have the same love for animals as you do. It is so strange they say we all have a twin in life. I love your work and used to weld I really love it. I was always complemented on how good my welds looked. A male teacher in college told me woman are the best welders. He was not hitting on me or a weird guy. (For anyone reading this that may think that. I was married and husband and he was my husband's teacher also.) He said woman are more meticulous and perfectionists. In all years he had been teaching woman always were better welders. Maybe you kind of said it all. When I welded it felt it came natural. Men and women are different. We may use are emotion to weld. I am going to try and see if he still teaches and is still alive to send him this. You really touched my heart and soul.
You are an amazing inspiration!! I loved listening to your story, brought tears to my eyes! Sometimes I feel when you go through a bad experience, there is something good that comes out of it. You may not realize it right away, you have to find it. Your gift came to surface because you worked through it. I’m so glad you are reaping the rewards from it, you are so deserving. I’m glad you found a purpose with your animals as well, I’m sure the love those pups give you in return is so meaningful. God bless and keep up with your over the top talent, the welded trees are fabulous!!

The bottle tree came from the lowcountry Gullah who have the most preserved African history in the south. Not the Mississippi Delta.
