Zwa Maramani - Ritual Killings, 26 May 2021

The practise of kidnapping of people in the Vhembe District has been happening for a while, at times it subsides and then comes back after a while. There have been cases reported in the villages of Thikonelo, Tshwera and Tshitavha, Tshakhuma just to name a few with allegations kidnappings and ritual killings. In the past days, a few houses of those alleged to be behind these incidences have been torched. In the Tshikonelo area, a local chief and one resident are in jail awaiting bail after they were arrested for alleged kidnapping.
